09/10 Manchester United Away Kit

The new United away kit has been launched today and is available for pre-order.

The 09/10 away shirt was leaked earlier and we saw then that it was based on the same template as the new home kit, using a blue V stripe on a black shirt for outfield players and a awesome looking blue shirt for keepers (with a black V stripe).

Photos after the jump.

The kit is now available for pre-order – get yours here.

@Scorp: I am just fed up of this Youth policy and all talk…. Look at Arsenal Team I mean they are all youth… They have probably the best in the business in term as far as spotting the young kid is concern.. They play may be the best brand of football.. I would say second only to Barca (and definitely better than MAN UTD) but, the question lies that What have they won??? None…

And tbh I would like to Mourinho in my dugout any given day rather than having that Kid loving Arsen Wenger (no disrespect to the man he has constraint due to its rubbish board)….

And its not about Youth only its about the building the TEAM and to be honest he has proven at Porto that He Certainly Can!!!!

And to get you back to point by having youth and giving time to build a team and all Man UTD will call for a trouble. As 4 yrs without trophy and then imagine the Level of Debts…. And that is the prime reason I want him… Because for Man UTD’s survival the continuing success is the necessity which the Self Proclaimed Special One can Guarantee…

After all who can dare to say such things (quotes about Chelsea and Himself)

“Since I left I became champion again but they have not been champions again. I keep winning and they don’t.”

I just love his Arrogance, Attitude, Ego and moreover the CV to back all of it….

Well if we want to have him as the manager because purely of the success that we crave for , then it is like we are selling the soul of the club to the devil.

No one wants Mourinho to bring up kids like Wenger does, that is not what we want, a mix of the two. Yes, you do get in world class players when they are available but do reap the rewards of having an academy. That is what Sir Busby and Sir Ferguson stuck to all their years, isn’t it. Mourinho is a damn good manager, no question about that but somewhere down the line we do need to question if he would fit in with the ethos of the club.

@Scorp: How is letting mourinho(a manager who will win us trophies)manage the club selling the soul of the club to the devil?Do you think ferguson is there just so we can nuture the young players, no.Fergie is there because he’s the best bet that united will succeed and win trophies. And exactly what are these ethics of the club?I’ll tell you my ethic as a united fan, win win win.If that can be achieved by playing attacking football well and good,if not then whatever gets us those silverware is fine as well.

    @Scorp:

Craving for success is not the right word buddy… I clearly mentioned that its not our wish but its the necessity that we are facing in the wake of the Debt that we have… Just try and understand buddy that we can only boast this tradition and soul and so on that you are talking if we survive. And, believe me if we are not winning or not continuing the winning ways then we may end up under the increased debts that’s all..

Moreover, try and understand one simple rule of the business that any debt laden company needs to perform or that leveraging will kill that company… And, unfortunately this rule applies to all the business including the Football Business (unfortunately)…

Secondly, please come out of the history and past mate and be real. I mean try and be honest while answering one question, do you feel that in today’s world of football any manager at the club of the size of ours will get 7 yrs to win his first league title specially if the club is servicing the debts amounting to GBP 600 mn. The answer is big NO. Even, Mr. Ferguson would have not got that amount of time in today’s world.

Try to understand one thing bro… That the times of Busby’s is already gone and Fergie’s will soon go but Man UTD will remain for ever and to keep the soul of this great club alive we want to have a manager who will keep this great club at place where its belong to… That on TOP of the GAME.

I repeat again if we would have been zero debt company I would inclined to VOTE for the MOYES. But, in today’s situation its only one name for me and that’s self proclaimed Special One ‘ Jose Mourinho’.

  14. Scorp says:

@spizzy: Then, there is a serious difference at the way we look at the club. I wouldn’t want some glory seeking manager to come and win trophies and forget about the rest. Don’t get me wrong, obviously as United supporters we have the right to expect our team to win every match but not at the expense of style and class of the manager. I just detest the way Chelsea players behave on the pitch and that has been since Mourinho era, that is the kind of arrogance he instilled in them.

forgive me if im wrong.. but isn’t this years kits a one season ‘wonder’ if we’re getting a new sponsor for next season then surely that means that we will also get a new kit. either way i think it looks pretty good, but like someone else said a red ‘V’ would have been better, also, the shade of Blue is much more like that or the Barca away kit, would have preferred the Euro away kit blue. but meh either way, both of the keeper kits of looked good. just hope the team performs well. really want to see how Valencia does against Boca.

  17. Scorp says:

@Onkar: Onkar, I think you pretty much answered the question yourself when you said Sir Fergie will be gone and all that is left is Man Utd and we should try to preserve its soul . That is precisely what the Anti-Mourinho camp is saying. Why change what the club stands for when clearly Mourinho is going to do that?

Also, am sure Glazers understand that we need to invest in players and the club to service their debts, so obviously the cash for the new manager to spend will be there. We even don’t know how the debt is leveraged. Who ever the new manager is, if it takes him 7 years to win anything then obviously he is not good enough in the first place. In Fergie’s case it was different. He had to start from scratch, he had to set up a system.

This topic has polarised opinions and no way we’ll agree on this topic

How come the nike kits never have a collar anymore, pretty much all the home kits back in the day from 94 to 99 were just class, the collar just added to its identity, a special frenchman used it as his trademark, just why nike dont bring it back is confusing.
Overall though this kit isnt that bad, better than the white one from last season but imo the best away kit we have had in years was the black one from 07/08, that was a bloody class kit aswell.

@Scorp: There’s a difference between a fan and a football purist, a purist would have rather had barca win because they play beautiful football, a purist would even have had arsenal beat us at the semi’s, but no united fan,you included, will say,”i was happy that barca won because of the way they play”.When we beat them at the semi’s two seasons ago, they completely outplayed us but we had a strong defense which they couldn’t breach.Defense is as much a part of football as attack, i would personally rather have an all rounded team, not the likes of madrid and shitty, watch this space, madrid will once again come second to barca, and shitty will be well, shitty.Maybe moyes could come in but I’d rather have a proven winner.

@Alex: Nearly half of our away kits since ever have had blue as the predominant colour. We went 20 years with a plain blue away shirt, so any blue is just going back to what historically has been. I think they are rotating black blue and white as the main colours year after year. No biggie really. Just wish if we’re doing things based on history we go the route of the latest England kit, which is awsome. Or the Munich kit.

Anderson scored a goal… I really didnt know how to react, it felt just like Kikos goal against Villa. When he stood over it, I was like: “Why is Andy taking a free-kick?!” When it went in I was like: “OOOH!!! AAAAAAAAAAAH!! FUCK ME!!! AAH, OOH, haaAAAA- hAAAAAA-HAAAAAAAAAAA! OH! MY! FUCKING!!! GODDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the happiest day in my life, Ive said it time and time again that I have been waiting for Andy to score a goal. And what a cracker!!! You guys are gonna see a FIFA 09 version of that goal later today, I promise!

Oh, and Tony looks impressive. He is incredibly fast, has flair and is not afraid to take people on. He defends as well, and his crosses are impressive! Nice goal too.

We just don’t pressed enough in the middle of the park and gave the opposition time and possession and when we got the ball we gave it away for fun. @jamie lee: You’ll always see people who’ll have respect for Ronaldo and those who either don’t have time for him or have moved on. We’ve spent two summers with him as the centre of discussion. So do you really want to re-start this topic of showing respect to him?

    Meh.

Can anybody tell me if we were we any good in the first half?

How did the central midfield cope? THe second half I watched did did little to quash my fears about our seemingly frail centre midfield.

But nonetheless, wingers and forwards are looking ok for the coming season…

    ReplyReply
  192. tevez says:

@NicoQB: Our centre midfield really isn’t that bad. It’s been competent for the past couple of seasons and it’s a while back before you get to the point where our middle of the park was top-drawer. The team has been successful and although it could certainly do with strengthening, it is still good enough to cope at the moment. The lack of quality only shows when matched up against the other big teams but for the most part players like anderson and fletcher tend to enjoy the big occasion and step up accordingly. At worst, the centre midfield can put up an adequate midfield battle. They can do enough, if not more.

    ReplyReply
  193. NicoQB says:

@tevez: The only reason why we’re not being made to suffer for the weakness of the central midfield is because our defemce bails them out time and again. Pair this midfield with the defence of the mid-nineties or early 00’s and we would be conceding twice the number of goals we concede nowadays.
I agree that the potential is there, but it just frustrates me to no end when we just stop battling in the middle of the park and let the opponent get loser and closer to our defence as we did yesterday.

  194. Redrich says:

@NicoQB: I saw the first 30 of todays game and CMF looked OK, but Rooney seemed to be the catalyst, picking up the ball deepish and trying some penetrating give and go’s to get through the middle. Some looked good, some looked exploratory, but by and large the CMF didn’t look that much different than last season – no dominant entity to boss things!!
Valencia certainly looked the real deal, and looks like he will have success on the flank, but with few large targets to aim at in the middle (his corners, that I saw, were met by nobody), I just wonder why we continue to put an emphasis on this form of attack? Probably because we can’t attack down the middle!

    ReplyReply
  195. Redrich says:

@NicoQB: With Anderson’s success at dead ball situations (PK’s during shoot out’s) and today’s wonder blast, he could well be the go-to guy for FK’s around the box. He seems to measure things carefully, when he’s got the time, and has good power with both feet!!
    Who knows!

  196. Traverse says:

I think it’ll be Anderson or Giggs from the left and Carrick or Hargreaves from the right depending on who’s playing. Anyone know if Valencia took many freekicks at wigan?

    ReplyReply
  197. Redrich says:

@Traverse: Yeh but we don’t know about Hargo, do we. If we could get Nani in the team, he also has good accurate power – from distance too!!!

@Redrich: Ok, but how is this related to the premise of the argument that jamie brought up, where he asked everyone to show respect to him?

    ReplyReply
  200. Redrich says:

If Citeh get Lescott I think the tide will turn for them. They will be respected at the back as well as for they’re overstocked strike force!!

If they can put in a decent showing in a couple of competitions this year, the thought of success as a player there will be as much of a reality as the really large paycheck is!!

The Plan seems clear!! To sign big name players, give the team an identity, win some games (and maybe some competitions) and then sign some more big name players. It is a momentum that is beginning to have legs!!

I’m not saying this will enable them to overtake our excellence, but it certainly can’t be overlooked as “trivial and meaningless”. The amount of talent being amassed there will, at some point, give an advantage to them, whether Sparky induces it, or someone else, their legacy seems to be on the rise!!

So with all that was said by SAF this week, I do imagine that he will be keeping an eagles eye on the comings and goings in Eastlsnds. For them to usurp us in the PL would probably cost him his neck!!

    ReplyReply
  201. Redrich says:

@Red Ranter: Well I thought he was comparing Valencia to Ronaldo in an attempt to show some perspective on his performance. It didn’t make me respect Ronaldo any more or any less, but as Ronaldo’s “natural” replacement, Valencia will have to endure these comparisons. Don’t you think??

Jamie was responding to a comparison made by someone in jest (that Valencia was better than Ronaldo). He took it seriously and thought everyone must show him respect. All I told him was it’s an impossible expectation because of the way he polarised opinions. Great player, but respect is not something everyone will show to him.

As far as Ronaldo is concerned, he was great for us, and will always remain as the talisman for our successes over the last few years. The idea that he could be a “George Best” or a “Eric Cantona” or an “Ole” is completely out of the question. However any player that could contribute so massively to our winning path will always earn an element of respect from me!!
