Manchester United throw the last game of the season

Not all United players had their hearts in the game, and from the team selection (and the substitutions, neither did Ferguson) and we paid the price for that in terms of a home defeat and a second double defeat of the season (the other team being Arsenal).

Glazers: Manchester United is not for sale

via Sky Sports:

Reports have indicated that a Chinese consortium made an £850million takeover bid for the club earlier this year. It was claimed that a Midlands-based finance expert made contact with the American owners on behalf of the group.

Rossi’s future at Manchester United

Opinion on Giuseppe Rossi is split amongst Man Utd fans. Some consider him to be just the striker we need for next season (I’d be one of them), others are more interested in chasing after Huntelaar, Berbatov, Tevez or the ‘new flavour of the month’, as a comment on SL stated.

So what is it? Is Rossi good enough, or do we need a new striker?

De Rossi for Manchester United?

Last year, Barcelona was the only team which played with such flair, they made every other team look low and ugly. This year, another team has emerged, which going back to the tradition of their club started to play free flowing, attractive attacking football - Manchester United.

Yes, the same team which defeated Roma 7-1, but was sadly mauled 3-0 by Milan. From a purist’s perspective, they were the only team which deserved to win the premier league. But are they the team which deserved to win the Champions League, more than anyone else?

No!! A hard No!!!!!

Manchester United vs West Ham: Preview

United play the Hammers in a game that has greater significance for the players in claret and blue, although that is unlikely to be a reason for our manager to let the players relax. He has stated clearly that he wouldn’t want to show disrespect for the other teams involved in a relegation scrap and treat this game like a title decider, well almost (I added the title decider bit).

Manchester United did not break Premier League rules in Howard “deal”

The Guardian today tells us that Manchester United wanted to cheat, but that the Premier League stopped them just in time.

From a neutral (i.e. non-biased, non-prejudiced and non-hype) perspective, I don’t see this as cheating, nor do I consider it being such a big deal. However, Manchester United DID find a loophole in the Premier League rules, and that shouldn’t be ignored, regardless of the fact that we’ve won the title.

How good can Tevez be for Manchester United?

I’m going to go out on the proverbial ledge and put this out - shoot it down if you will, but not before thinking this through.

Carlos Tevez is going to be THE catch of the season this summer - and if Manchester United are able to sign him, they will have brought in a player who has the never-say-die spirit of Robson, Cantona and Keane, and the drive to keep battling at 110% from start till finish.

Can Chris Eagles be everything Kieran Richardson is not?

After last night’s draw with Chelsea, Alex Ferguson praised Chris Eagles and Kieran Lee for their contributions. Personally, I think it was a bit troubling that Lee was beaten by Sinclair and he’ll need more time (preferably on loan) before we can pass any serious judgement on him. He looks decent enough.

Eagles though, is a different case. He’s had his loan periods, and he’s had his time playing in the reserves. It’s time for him to stand up and be counted, and on recent (albeit scant) evidence, he’s doing a much better job than Kieran Richardson.
