Wow! Could you script a better ending?
Ronaldo, our top scorer, scores.
Ryan Giggs, our most decorated and capped player, scores.
And Bolton snatch a late equaliser to consign Chelsea firmly in second place.
Football, bloody hell!
Rants, raving and everything else later. Over to you lads…
Update: Also, Citeh get spanked 8-1 by Boro. The day gets better.

It all boils down to today. All year’s work being reduced to a cup final. Ideally, we should have never let it come to this. But, as they say, given this situation at the start of the season — a final game against Wigan and a Champions’ League final — we’d have gladly taken it. So win the title today, and it would give the players a big boost going into the Champions’ League final. Lose it, and it will be a long ten days in the run up to the Champions’ League. I suspect, that conceding the Premier League title would rankle in the minds of the players more than conceding the CL simply because we have been the most free scoring team in the league and should be beating a side like Wigan almost always.

One more day to go before D-day while you notice everything near you getting whipped into a frenzy; the people at Sky will scream themselves hoarse with their ‘Super Duper Ultimate Blockbuster Sunday’.
And in the lead up to that you will have players, managers and anyone with a half-arsed opinion — that includes yours truly — say something about the title race. But for some strange reason everyone’s been harping in unison about Wigan Athletic rolling over for United. Wigan’s, and more importantly Steve Bruce’s, integrity has been questioned by almost everyone. And the Chelsea machine itself has left no stone unturned to make this clear to everyone that there is some major conspiracy in the making — that Wigan will just bend over for United.

It’s that day of the week again; the day you’d almost feel holiday-like but for the eight hour shift you’d have to put in before letting your hair down. Then again, as they say, thank God it’s Friday!
It’s been a hell of a week for me though, and I’m sure, for most Reds. I’ve not been quite as nervous for a whole week. I’m sure — although I hope not — the players would also be a bit nervous. Wigan have been comprehensively beaten by United almost always. But Steve Bruce’s side now have drawn Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Before I start, thanks for all your comments on my previous article. I hope you’ll appreciate the irony when I say that the best thing about this blog is the spectrum of contributors from all across the world, and it was great to hear your take on my Anglo-centric views. I tried to pull together my responses to those comments in post 52 in that thread, so have a look if you’re still interested in the debate.
Now, here’s some fodder to keep our minds off the unbearable tension that will be next Sunday….
There is a mischievous rumour doing the rounds that Fergie will leave on a high if we win the double. This was touched upon in the comments to this thread at numbers 25-35, approximately. I thought it was worthy of an article, because the “who’s next” guessing game is always fun and hasn’t been played for a while and because I (as usual) have some fairly particular opinions on the point which I want to hear your thoughts on.

… yes, dear readers, indulge me this day. Today I will talk about myself.
It was one year to this day that this site was launched.
So here is wishing this site a very happy anniversary (bloggiversary?)

Ever since the Glazers took over Manchester United Football Club, plunging it into severe debt — on a scale as large as they come — there was hardly much to cheer about if you were a United fan; at least in the early days. The first full ‘Glazer year’ in charge was the unfolding of, what many fans thought to be, the end of the world for United; a Carling Cup win and a limp Champions’ League campaign that saw us knocked out of the group stages was just too hard to bear. Not to mention the departure of a certain Roy Keane and a pasting at the hands of Middlesbrough.
The Guardian ran a piece today, revealing that the club has suffered losses despite the rosy pictures painted earlier, on the club’s financial position.

Well, not really a round up. I have my hands full, so I’ll be off the blog today. I’ll pop in once in a while just to ensure you behave nice.
However feel free to discuss whatever pops in your mind. Today Chelsea visit Newcastle and they haven’t won at St James’ Park since 2001, which is a strange statistic to be honest. A loss would virtually guarantee us the title on goal difference. Let’s hope Keegan does us a favour.
Meanwhile the Sun reported that Nani could be fined two-weeks wages for the incident. It was clear from Fergie’s post match comments that he wasn’t impressed by Nani’s antics the least bit. An old-fashioned bollocking would have surely been in order, but one would hope that only good can come of this. It’s a good opportunity for the young Portuguese star to have a good look at himself and work on improving his attitude. And at this juncture it’s come at a much better time than, perhaps, a few games ago.
Anyway, I’m done with this for the day. Will get back tomorrow with more worthwhile stuff to talk about, I assure you.
Over to you…
Yes, one hand on the title it is. Wigan won their game yesterday against Villa and ensured their survival. So they have nothing to play for when they face us next week. Despite it being an away game, this season’s Premier League title is only United’s to lose.
But getting back to yesterday’s game, it’s nice to see the swagger back. Presumably, the win against Barcelona could have driven the men on. Or perhaps, it’s the knowledge that, with only three games to go, prior to yesterday, they can afford to give it their all for the final push.
Either way, a warm welcome to Manchester United as we know them. What we saw over the past two-three weeks was a pale shadow, to be honest.

Two games left. Two wins, and the title will be ours.
But again, as they say, it’s one game at a time.
