Manchester United vs Bursaspor: Match Preview

Much of this weeks news has been regarding the future of Wayne Rooney, but one thing is for sure, with or without the England international, Manchester United are a team, but a team in bad form and once that needs a good performance to get its season back on track and what better time to show the world that this team can win without Rooney in the line-up.

Football Manager 2011 is going to be out in the shops from November 5th, 2010 and it is going to be the best FM of all. Lots of new features such as real-time contract negotiations for a more realistic deal with agents, a brand new set-piece creator and a completely refurbished training system.

One thing I’m going to make sure in FM 11 is that Wayne Rooney stays at Manchester United! If he wants to leave in the game as well, offering him higher wages and winning the title every year should do the trick. If that doesn’t work either, I will at least make sure that he doesn’t stay in England and not sell him to Real Madrid. It will be sad though if the game starts with Rooney trying to leave United.

Match Review: Manchester United 2-2 West Bromwich Albion

I have long come to grips with the fact that, for better or worse, I’m an eternal optimist.

It could be that I’m just a glutton for punishment, but it’s never hard for me to find something to laugh about or fill the glass halfway with.

And with that, there are a handful of positives to take from Saturday.

Manchester United vs West Bromwich Albion: Match Preview

With another round of international fixtures over, the focus again returns to the Premier League and Manchester United host West Brom at Old Trafford in game that will be far from an easy victory.

United’s form of late has been very patchy with successive away draws but at home a 100% record is in tact. But West Brom are a side in good form with manager Roberto Di Matteo winning manager of the month for October after a string of impressive results.

Confronting The Story That Won’t Go Away: Sex, Lies, and Rooney’s Fate

A time machine would come in handy right about now, wouldn’t it?

If such technological wonders were available, it would be ideal to rewind to say, a little more than six months ago.

At that time, Wayne Rooney was in the form of his life, and United were well-positioned to take home multiple trophies once again.

Then came an ankle injury that started an avalanche. Since Rooney went down in the waning moments in Munich on March 30, nothing has been the same for Rooney or for United.

How Did You Become A Manchester United Fan?

We’ll be back to your regularly scheduled Manchester United news ‘n views in a bit, but I wanted to introduce myself properly before I got too far, and I also wanted to learn a little more about the great community we have here on RR.

It all had to start somewhere, and here’s how it happened for me. Continue reading

What Has Changed At Old Trafford? A Look At The Sunderland Match

Tag: Match Reports @ 2:03 pm

After days of digesting another unpalatable, inept and cowardly performance against Sunderland, with the team being out played, outfought and generally outdone, what concerned me more were the post match comments made by Knight of the Realm, Sir Alex Ferguson.

For those who haven’t seen or heard the post match interview, here is what the great man said:

Sunderland vs Manchester United: Match Preview

After the fantastic win over Valencia midweek, attention returns to the Premier League as a trip to Sunderland looms. But it could prove a more difficult task given Manchester United have not won away from Old Trafford in the league this season.

But that is something a fact that could be remedied by United having won six of their last seven league games at the Stadium of Light coupled with the Black Cats having only ever kept one clean sheet against United in the Premier League.

The Day After The Day After: Valencia 0-1 Manchester United

Watching several of Manchester United’s matches thus far this season has made for no shortage of excitement and entertainment, perhaps even for the neutral viewers out there.

That being said, for all of the goals, whether early, late, ordinary, amazing, or even funny, there’s been no shortage of frustration for United fans, especially with the lack of defense, and more importantly, wins, when United have ventured away from Old Trafford.

So then, it’s only natural that United’s first noteworthy away win of the season comes in a match and through a performance that was markedly different than what we’ve been seeing for the most part.
