United Look for Key Win against Pesky Potters

Is this a cursed season for Manchester United? From the word ‘go’, injuries and illness have torn through the side, and while injuries can’t be looked upon as an excuse for some of the poor and surprising results that have occurred this season or the exits from the Carling Cup, FA Cup, and most disappointingly, the Champions League, there’s no doubt that United’s chances for success in all of those competitions and in the Premier League would be at least somewhat enhanced by a fitter squad.

Ravel Morrison: No Money Back, No Guarantee

Tag: Manchester United @ 2:49 pm

Ravel Morrison looks set to leave Manchester United today. I repeat ‘Ravel Morrison looks set to leave Manchester United today’.

10 years ago Ravel Morrison was scouted to join Manchester United, from that moment on he had an opportunity to develop as a player and more importantly the chance to develop as a person, unfortunately for the club, he only developed as a player.

Kuyt Breaks United’s Hearts

Tag: Manchester United,Match Reports @ 4:02 pm

Dirk Kuyt scored two minutes from time to knock United out of the FA Cup and send Liverpool through to the first round for the first time since 2008.

A makeshift United side was two minutes away from forcing a replay when the Dutchman pounced on Andy Carroll’s flick and made the most of some poor defending by Patrice Evra to slot the winner home.

United Lock Horns with Liverpool in FA Cup Clash

There really isn’t much that needs to be said here. Manchester United v. Liverpool, the FA Cup, Anfield.

Manchester United: De Gea; Rafael, Smalling, Evans, Evra; Scholes, Carrick, Giggs; Valencia, Welbeck, Park.

Subs: Lindegaard, Fabio, Ferdinand, M Keane, Pogba, Berbatov, Hernandez

Liverpool: Reina; Kelly, Agger, Skrtel, Enrique; Carragher, Maxi, Gerrard, Henderson, Downing; Carroll

Subs: Doni, Johnson, Coates, Kuyt, Adam, Shelvey, Bellamy

No Rooney or Nani today, so there’s a lot of responsibility on Welbeck, Valencia, and Giggs to create, create, create.

De Gea gets the start in goal today, and this is as much a test for him as he’ll get this season. Pass it and he strengthens his hopes for regaining his starting slot soon, fail it, and well…

Fast and hard, fast and hard.

Tag: Manchester United @ 6:13 pm

Those were surely the words of Wenger prior to the game on Sunday. United could be considered lucky in this eventual deserved victory. Several blatant misses from Arsenal, including a six yard sitter from Van Persie, portrayed a thoroughly open game that was genuinely anyone’s for the taking from the outset. Maybe luck was a part, maybe it was justice as United seemed to dominate most of the possession, although possession alone does not justify victory. Aresnals intricate passing and wily attack was a constant threat that United just about dealt with, although should this have even mattered considering Arsenals youth and Uniteds considerable experience?
