Anderson talks – puts speculation to bed
Anderson spoke to Sportsmail putting an end to speculation that he may be heading for the exits at Old Trafford. This late in the window, with Ferguson saying “he won’t buy anyone”, it would surprise me if he were to boot someone out of the door. Anderson has gone down in estimation with some fans due to an inconsistent second season, and there were reports of a bust up between Ferguson and him over his non-selection in the Community Shield. Whether he’s rated by many or not, he still has a role to play this season, and considering we are a little thin on central midfield, the last thing we’d want is to be losing another midfielder and buying a winger.
This is what the Brazilian had to say to the Mail
‘I believed that I would play in the Community Shield but that is forgotten now. I thought that, without Cristiano Ronaldo around, I could to play more and that has been my challenge from pre-season onwards. But the coach decides the teams and to discuss this with him is foolish because he is the chief. I do not want to leave United. No.
‘Sir Alex Ferguson has demanded a bigger effort from me and I accept that. Because to get in to this United team is very complicated and difficult for any player.’
It does confirm there was a ‘bust up’, so to speak, and it’s good to see he wants to prove himself. But it does leave room for the possibility of other clubs being encouraged to bid for him next summer. (I wouldn’t be surprised — although, these days, not too many things surprise me anyway.)
There, so Anderson has spoken. It’s now time for Carrick — who normally opens his mouth to any hack within spitting distance — to put any speculation regarding him to bed, one way or the other.

I cannot find a way of disliking Anderson. I find him mature in his apology, hard working on the field. The only fault I have of him is that he let Iniesta through our midfield in the CL final. Other than that, I welcome him back into the team and hope he can be given some games.

I think I have made my case for giving him this season to perform, good player, bags of potential, nothing in his attitude that the gaffer cannot fix!

For a young player being played out of position or being played with a lot of defensive duties, hes not done too bad. All i want to know is why Fergie hasnt unleashed his attacking ability. We are crying out for Fergie to buy an explosive attacking playmaker but if you see Ando in his Porto days thats what he was, although he may need to play alongside Fletch or Hargreaves to get defensive cover when he bombs forward.

Mmmmmm maybe we have another Tev-dead on our hands. Play me or I’m off. Then when they do leave, it is Man United threw me out. Fergie is a bastard, you can’t argue with him, you can’t win against him. So after leaving though, they NEVER sem to be able to forget it, they are left forever smarting.
Becks – United pushed me out, and they don’t want to know me.
Ruud – Ferguson made it impossible for me to stay, he wanted me out!
Heinze – I came to Madrid because in the end I know that Ferguson, I don’t want any more interactions with him.
Veron – I wasn’t happy with Man United, I played my heart out for them when I was injured. They sent me to Chelsea against my will.
Stam – they treated me like a piece of meat. Fergie didn’t like the way the papers interpreted what I said in my book. A few days later they had Blanc in behind my back and I was shipped out.
Has anybody EVER left us that Fergie didn’t have a bust up with, and was happy about it? Oh I know – RONALDO!

Fair play to to lad for coming out wit that sort of a statment. I really do think he has the potential to be a major player for us, if played in the right position. I for one think that if he was given a little bit more freedom within our midfield to opperate and do his thing i truly believe we will see the best of him.

Anybody just watch Red Cafe questions to Rio on MUTV? Rio outed some good secrets there
. One thing PERTINENT to this thread discussion, when asked who was the worst in putting in effort in training, the first name out of Rio’s mouth – ANDERSON! Rio said Andi fools around, not getting on with it in training so to speak, just wanting to save himself for the premiership and other games. Very telling – No wonder that Fergie is telling him MORE EFFORT and application is required if he wants to get off the bench. Now we know why Andie fades in energy fitness levels after the first 40 minutes or so of a game. To me somebody who shirks in training is not a very serious football PRO! Until he puts the effort in on the training field that the other lads put in, why should he play before they do?

@DRed: He already DOES HIS OWN THING on the training pitch mate, that’s one of the reasons Fergie is taking him to task. Anybody who isn’t interested enough to work hard to achieve success, by doing the required hard graft in training, isn’t serious enough about his craft. He also isn’t fit enough for the demands of the running, and hard toil required in the top games, hence why he couldn’t catch the Barca MF’s in the CL
.

The Robben reports are gathering pace…
I find this infuriating.
We could have easily got him on a reabate as part of the Ronaldo deal, especially considering the bloated trnasfer market today (24 million for Lescott…
The world has gone mad)
Now it semms we’re once again going to get skinned in the transfer market. Have SAF nit learned about the Hargreaves debacle? Also are we not more than covered on the winger positions?
I also have a kind of hunch that one day Cristiano Ronaldo will be back to OT. SAF said he’d like him back and his early days at Bernabeu are not boding well… Benzema is stealing all the limelight. If my name was Grognard I would have said “Once again I’m proven right…”

@NicoQB: I understand United have offered 11 million for him, which isn’t massive, considering he is still only 25 years old. Real M wante 15 million euros, which is still not massive!

WHAT???!!! 10 comments and a new thread???
You’re surpassing yourself now RR!

@Craig Mc: The git moved to Chelsea choosing money instead of the honor of playing for us reds.
Yes, I’m still bitter about it!
August 26th, 2009 at 21:09
Its obvious we’re using wingers as a big part of our attacking play, we’ll need good cover on both wings. Robben would be usefull swopping wings with Nani, might bring more fluidity into our play and gotta be a better option than Park! Still want Sneijder too! Apparantly talks have broken down with Inter, so we could still be in with a shout for Wesley.

@NicoQB:
, we might all be worrying about nowt mate. SAF should have brought at least one real STAR in though after Ronnie went – but hey, he has to answer all the naysayers, not us
.

I think he responded like this coz he wont get a good club so late in the transfer window. So he was better off playing rather than sitting idle entire season. He is a good talent for sure but doesn’t put in the effort all the time.

I am still doubtful that he will be chosen against Gunners.
