This has been very disappointing. It’s so disappointing, it has me questioning Sir Alex Ferguson for the first time in years. I’ve been watching these games, and I’m seeing the same thing each of you are seeing. Quality games on our part, but no results to show for it. It’s called bad luck and we’re getting it in huge doses right now. Maybe it all started with Carlos Tevez. It seemed like it took years to finally get him from West Ham. Maybe if that had not been such a big issue, we’d have more points than we have right now. But usually, bad luck tends to wear off, and things start falling your way again. But this came cannot allow its poor start to affect its other goals. This is still here for us to win.

Good Morning all. Forgive me if this isn’t the quality of Red Ranter, but I’m just doing my best to step in and provide the news for my fellow Man Utd. fans. Good win for the Red Devils yesterday at Wembley, and with both teams looking pretty good during the game, it looks like the upcoming season will be a good one. There’s a lot of news on the game to get to, so lets get things rolling.

As Manchester United fans, we consider Wayne Rooney to be a world class striker. We group him in with the Thierry Henry’s of the world. However, as a friend and Arsenal fan recently pointed out to me, Rooney’s statistics do not point to a player that is of world class quality. Instead, it shows a player who has shown flashes of world class potential, but just does not have the numbers to warrant such high praise. Rooney is very creative with the ball, but he is not an out and out striker like Henry. However, according to Sir Alex Ferguson, this will all change this year.

Ed: This post was written with the assumption that Tevez is, in fact, joining United. If he does, which will be clear in (God knows how long) time, this post will give you an insight on what to expect. If he doesn’t, then well, read it anyway as a ‘what might have been’ article.
With Carlos Tevez looking set to join Manchester United, the thoughts immediately started running through my head. How many goals can we score? How badly will we beat up on teams? Who will be leaving now? In the end though, I settled on a few thoughts on this amazing summer signing.

Every day, Manchester United is linked to another striker.
One day its Samuel Eto’o, the next day its Fernando Torres, and the next day its Javier Saviola. All of these strikers would be excellent additions to Man Utd, but are they really worth the expensive transfer fees that they will command? Other than Eto’o, the answer is no.
So why not stick with what you have? Give Giuseppe Rossi a chance to keep the striker spot at Man Utd. Because it would be his first time in the starting XI on a regular basis, he should play as the supporting striker to Wayne Rooney. Both he and Rooney could thrive in their new posistions.
