I was at last years FA Cup 1/4 Final at Home Park.. Plymouth Argyle v Watford..best two players on the pitch were on loan (Scott Sinclair Argyle and Foster for Watford). Foster oozed class and pulled off a string of great stops. Looks as though he has great potential but now needs to be thrown into the deep end for some experience.

I think Foster should be given a start in every 3-4 games for the rest of the seasonbecause Van der Sar is nearly finished and then Foster can take over in goal next season with Kuszczak as backup. There's no point in us buying a really dear striker like Benzema or Berbatov because Rooney and Tevez will still start anyway. I'd recommend Huntelaar, he's fairly cheap, is a goal scorer and won't mind being on the bench. I'd forget about Neville because even if he does come back after so long out and with his age he'll only be backup. I wouldn't buy Bosingwa because he's not great defensively and Ronaldo won't work back so we could be exposed on the right. Lahm is adequate defensively but would be quite dear. Zaccardo from Palermo is very good defensively and would be cheap but may not adapt as well as Lahm. My Man Utd team next year would be: (a mixture between 4-4-2 and 4-3-3
Foster, Zaccardo, Evra, Ferdinand, Vidic
Scholes, Hargreaves, Anderson (drifting out to the left
Ronaldo(on the wings, mostly right), Tevez(suporting forward)
Rooney(Striker) Bench: Kuzczak, Neville, Pique, Carrick, Nani, Huntelaar, O'Shea
Silvestre, Saha, Fletcher and Park would all leave

He won't. Either EVDS (if fit) or Kuszczak. Fergie couldn't possibly risk him for the big one.

I am really worried if Rio doesn't play. I just get the feeling that he will be missed, more than anyone.

Prediction tomorrow; Scousers 1 (Gerrard) Man Utd 1 (Rooney) Yes you read right Rooney. Rooney is going to score a goal. It will be a mis hit that deflects slightly off a defender to tie the game late for us. I just have a feeling our lack of production is going to hurt us tomorrow against an in form Scouser side. Arsenal will beat Chelsea because as I see it a trained chimp or a muppet could out coach Bela Lugosi Grant in a big game. And whether I like him or not, Wenger is no chimp or muppet. Still, he is not Fergie or the Special One. Ooh! Very Good. They're Fantastic. Be Champions!!!!

Andrei; Is your Huntelaar different than mine? I've seen him nail at least a dozen headers, many of the highest quality. So I'm wondering what you are basing this assumption on?

JB; Yes I guess we disagree and the best way to compare our philosophies is to use an analogy. You want United to play beautiful, attractive football similar to the total football of th Dutch teams in the early 70's. I on the other hand want to play an attacking brand that is pragmatic and a little old school like West Germany from the same period. Where you might prefer Johan Cruyff (for good reason I might add), I prefer Gerd Mueller because he had no frills or fancy moves. He just scored goals and scored big goals in big games. Some might be ugly but they went in. Johan Cruyff never scored as many BIG goals as Gerd Mueller, partly because the approach, although artistic, was not as efficient as the German machine with Beckenbauer and Netzer operating the engine room. Huntelaar reminds me more of German pragmatism and efficiency. Benzema has more flash but I question the substance. As to who I would prefer, my heart says Huntelaar or Berbatov. I really am not won on Benzema and I don't think he is one on United either.

I want a player who will fit in with the style of play, but more importantly is how he fits in with the city, the dressing room and the team. Personally speaking, Benzema seems like one of those who could only survive and prosper in Spain and Italy. I think the English game would chew him up and spit him out. I think he is very soft and very moody. Having said that, I though the same of Torres. I was wrong there but having Rafa and other Spanish players there helped him get comfortable and acclimated to the Scouser lifestyle. YUK!!!!

United 3 dippers 1 Ronaldo(1) Rooney(2) torres(1)
maybe a little optimistic of me, in some of these big games there can be a tendancy for the teams to cancle each other out, hopefully this wont be the case. We would all love to see a theatre of dreams showcase, though not many of us would have any problems with 1-0 and 3 pts in the bag. Our defence is good enough to stifle anything the scouse can throw at us, our boy ronaldo can score from anywhere, but i'd relly love to see the renaissance of Rooney. This game is set up for him, he's always up for a go against the red half of liverpool, so lets hope he has a riot.

Andrei: As much as you want it to, football just doesn't work like that. Anyway if you were notching up 3 and 4 goals every time you play a smaller team then the fun quickly drains out from the sport. Anyway just look at the weekend we just beat Derby. Arsenal only drew with Boro, while Liverpool and Chelsea struggled to wins over relegation threatened teams. Bayern lost to the worst team in the Bundesliga, Madrid slumped to Depor and Barcelona mucked up a fairly simple assignment against Almeria. You just simply don’t turn up and beat small teams 4-0 every time; luck, the vagaries of form and the opposition’s efforts will make sure of that. Our goal difference suggest we have done a reasonable enough job handing out stuffings over the course of the season.
