Brucey We Owe You One!
The title race is not over as yet. We have to go to Blackburn and Chelsea before we start celebrating — assuming we beat them both. But yesterday Steve Bruce’s Wigan Athletic did us a huge favour with an injury time leveller which gives us that extra cushion going into a dodgy trip to Ewood Park.
Steve Bruce said prior to the match that he would love to do his old club a big favour. Scott discussed before the match about the possibility of Wigan nicking some points from Chelsea. But he also posted a video that I had only read about but never got the chance to see. So I will post it here as well. The year was 1991-92 towards the end of the season and United were down 1-0 to Sheff Wednesday. Bruce then scored 4 minutes from time and then another in injury time to help United to a famous win. Here’s the video below. Cheers Scott, I’d searched for this before but never stumbled upon it.
Hope Everton does us a favour on Thursday.

Sweet, even if Chelsea win all their remaining games we can afford to lose at the bridge and draw one of our games (Blackburn or maybe our bogey team West Ham?).
But of course it would be much more fun to beat Chelsea at the bridge!

Steve Bruce = United Legend, its still not over as we have to beat Blackburn, which wont be easy this saturday. I hope Vidic is back with Santa Cruz looking a dangerous player. I feel we beat Blackburn and we will have one hand on the trophy, it would be all the sweeter if we won at the bridge too to erase those painful memories of two years ago.

What will we be saying about Bruce if by some remote chance the scenario plays out that we need to beat Wigan on the last day of the season only to have him beat us and crush our dreams. How quickly the mutual love fest will end. Even if we have clinched, there is nothing worse than losing your last game of the season and leaving that little bit of a sour taste in your mouth. Wigan have become a pretty decent team without a lot of quality players.

Grognard mate, even if in a drastic turn of events, Brucie does end our title hopes, he will still be remembered as an Old Trafford legend and this incident would then be referred to more like the same way Denis Law relegated us (not really) with his famous back-heel.
Brucie=Legend.
Best English player never to be a starter in the national side.

Agree with Nico. Let’s not gorget that they might be fighting for relegation. If the fights are not over by then then we will have to give our all. Bruce even said that the most he happy about is that it is 1 more point, that can save them from relegation.

[Grognard]
We can’t blame Bruce then. Having come this far to throw it away, we would have only ourselves to blame. Bruce will forever be Captain Fantastic. As Nico said, even Denis Law when he scored against us for City which eventually led to United’s relegation didn’t diminish the fan’s respect for him. I don’t think we United fans are that bad, barring few execptions.

RR; Of course we would only have ourselves to blame but good old human nature would rear it’s ugly head and I’m sure there will be some that will be mighty upset if Bruce’s gang defeat us in the clutch. And yes Bruce is a legend and will always be one of United’s most beloved players. No argument there. The encouraging news is that we should have it wrapped up by then and even if we don’t, United own Wigan. We just match up well against them.
