The accuracy of the article should be put into perspective given that SAF put Anderson on the bench for the game tonight.

There is one other possibility, that the writer Taylor got his information about Ferguson attacking Anderson in his locker room speech from an off-the-record source, presumably O’Shea, maybe even Ferguson, and that’s why it’s in his report.

However, if Taylor took this course, he should have put a “sources say” beside the information, so we would know he got it from someone, that he’s not making it up. I’m in the journalism business myself, been a reporter for 20 years now, and that’s the standard my paper would demand.

As it is, we’re left with the impression that Taylor made it up, and that justifies this attack from the Red Ranter, in my mind.

Taylor should come clean. Did he make this up, or did he get this information from a source who asked not to be identified?

Red in the face. I doubt it, the odious little knob probably doesn’t give a toss.

I used to buy the Grauniad for the sport, when they had quality sports journalists writing for them, especially David Lacey, who was a journo of some integrity and knowledge, which is somewhat rare these days
