Carlos Tevez continues to spout venom

It seems some people find it hard to move on. We all acknowledge that sometimes, in a relationship, both parties might have been at fault and, like adults, we say what we have to say, and move on.

The relationship between clubs and players, players and managers and players and fans is not that different in essence. [Of course, if a player spites his fans, then the gloves are usually off, and we see even mild-mannered, cultured adults turn juvenile -- but I digress.]

Carlos Tevez, falls in the second category. And, by recent evidence, has shown little signs of growing up.

According to today’s report in the MirrorTevez accuses Fergie of lying to him about his squad status after signing Berbatov.

“Ferguson still believes I will be at United next season. He thinks I will return. But I know what I want and I know that Ferguson did not respect me as a player. Before Berbatov arrived in Manchester, Ferguson told me, ‘You will still be the starting striker, so be cool’. But he lied to me! That is why I know I will not return to United.

For one, football has become a squad game. Much of United’s success over the course of the past three years has been built around having good squad depth and players understanding that rotation is a part of life at United. Rotating players kept us in the hunt for a good part of the season. And for a manager, the toughest job is to ensure a reasonable mix of players for the right game. Tevez’s appearances over the course of the season is proof that he has got more playing time than some others in the side. He was mis-treated by the club management, of that there is little doubt. The United management weren’t forthright enough to work out his contract details, and we all know that. But today he still feels he has to whine some more to the press:

“What I want to do next season is score against United. I promise I will not celebrate in front of the United fans but I will shout in Ferguson’s face. You can be sure of that – and it will be one of the most beautiful things I have done in football.”

Well, Charlie. We wish you good luck on that. And you don’t have to bother trying to show respect to us fans. We aren’t really on your side anymore. And, just so you don’t wear a bewildered look when you visit OT, expect some booing from the stands.

Update: Also, in case you haven’t heard, Wayne Rooney had a minor accident when he bumped his head. Doctors thought he may have had a concussion. But it was reported to be nothing serious. Today Rooney updated his twitter status, and like we jobless folks track stuff like this, here’s what he says on his head and Owen:

Thanks for all the messages my heads fine it wont stop me starting preseason il be there on Monday looking forward to meeting up with Michael Gosh that was a shock but hes a proven goal scorer but maybe just not been at the right club thats no offence to Newcastle. The Gaffer knows what hes doing always has I think this could be a Great season again for Utd Cant wait , Hols nearly finished! Bye 4 now.

So with those golden words from the Roon, we can sleep today in peace.

Common Carlos this is bit too much.why u complaining you got the whole second half in that final what have you done. I didnt see any run from you to the goal box.You know what hapend in 1999 Teddy and Ole in last 10 mnts that called the legends. So to score a goal u dont need full 90 mnts you just need a flash of brilliance to score. The whole season you played more minutes than Rooney and berbatov. so Dont complaint Fergie ddint look after you. The man fought a lot to brought you in to the team and you also played very well in the first season, but second season you scored the important goals but fewer goal ratio. So dont complain about Fergie and make this stuppid things he is liar and goal on his face thats not suits you Carlos. No one is bigger than the club remember that in your mind. You only going to Bloody City because of Money nothing else because you and Ur bloody owner that Jorabchian are greedy for money. United offer you the five year deal worth 25.5 million ask rate. But you rejected, and Jurabchian claime you people didnt gave enough time to think. So stop those bulshits and crocodile tears. You are not welcome any more carlos.

@Zae: The Mirror are more credible than the other shit tabloids mate. Tevez ia a bitter little shit, who DIDN’T want to leave, he was stringing United along to see just how much more his team could screw out of us, but he came unstuck. Man Utd wouldn’t play the game, and cut him off, which really shocked him. He thought he had time to play around, but he didn’t. Also, what the fuck is he going on about, that SAF still thinks he is coming back? Where does that kind of delusional thinking come from? United cut off all negotiations after giving him a deadline, so where has the SAF still thinks he is coming back come from????

Is this for real? Previous rant from him and i start to hate him. He thought he had the fans support after 2 years at the club. Fergie spend 23 years at the club and you think fans who the fans will support? Just because you did a lot of running and never give up spirit for 2 years, people can’t forget you? The club succeed for so long not because of you dude. It’s ferguson. Get it to your head. I mean whatever or how bad the manager is, you can’t complain to the media, once you did then off you go. Fergie agree the 25.5m asking price is because he knew you will reject. Anyway for the Rooney twitter, is it his one? It seems to me that it’s not a real one.

So what if he had to fight for his place, wasn’t it Ferguson that gave him the opportunity to play at the top level in the first place?
He might not want to disrespect the United fans but he does when he comes out with this crap. Alex is Manchester United and it’s really not his fault that tevez hasnt matured in his football or the way he conducts himself. It’s actually got beyond embarrasing for him and seeing as he hasn’t yet signed for Man City, I think his behaviour is limiting his options.

rldnccc just respond because how is owen a replacement he cost nothing even though I will still say his style of play where he is useless on the ball will make united suffer. owen is like playing with 10 men because his overall game is nothing short of abysmel. his only 2 talents has gone which was scoring goals and what made that talent work was his pace. owen’s other problem is he is not a total footballer so his type of playing style can decline faster than others. we saw how chelsea declined when they went for second rate players, but my worry is owen berbatov upfront if rooney is injured worrys me greatly. another problem is non of our attacking players has a physical threat. valencia nani giggs park tosic rooney berbatov owen welbeck macheda where is the height and strength because I see non of it.

I’d be careful. Journalists often misquote players. I find it hard to believe Carlos would say those things. For a start his English is terrible and Fergie would have never said “Be Cool”.

Considering the quotes are taken from the Daily Mirror Id take them with a pinch of salt.

I find this venom aimed at Carlos disrespectful. If he really is saying these things why are we stooping to his level? Can’t we be the more mature party in the relationship?

Tevez gave us two years at the club. While you can argue that he was not good enough there is no faulting his commitment to the club and he gave us everything when he was on the pitch.

I really think it is most distasteful to make fun of Tevez. Say what you like about him he scored some very important goals for the club and while his last season did not work out, in his first season at the club he seamlessly fitted into the club and helped us win the Premier League and the Champions League at a time when he was the main striker.

Fact is Tevez last season was better than Berbatov this season.

also what really pisses me off is how the media have painted a picture of ronaldo has this two faced nasty winker who wrecked englands worldd p han, whois a spoiled playboy pampered asshole of a footballer who is seen as a guy who goes from girl to girl cant settle down with a relationship and who is so selfish, yet tevez can leave with the media praising him as almost a guy who was seen has great as ronaldo and rooney for his attitude who is unselfish a great guy who is a married man. despite the fact that he has put a dark scare on a famly club in west ham, wasted our time in summer 2007 getting him when there were far better strikers out there. and now he has treated fergie and man utd at times is nothing sort of disgraceful. he is a typical person who uses the PR machine to get fans the media and people on his side, when he is even more selfish than a ronaldo even though ronnie left and appriciate what the boss and united done for ronaldo. the media need a long look at themselves on really good guys like ronaldo yea he is in the limelight acted like an idiot but he was never bitter, and the real assholes in tevez and heinze.

Sorry to come back to this point but two threads back I mentioned how if we really wanted Benzema, we would have been more expeditive and decisive in our transfer dealings. I mentioned how Aaron Ramsey was thought to be a done deal for us. But Wenger came in in his private jet, wooed his parents, treated them to dinner, and explained how he would play more at arsenal than at United.

But then I read this on f365:
“…Benzema, who is now relishing the prospect of making his debut for the Spanish giants, says the visit of Florentino Perez to his house played a major role in his decision to join.

“Real are a kid’s dream. Florentino Perez came to my house at Bron. That was important,” he continued. “He can speak French and I understood he absolutely wanted me. I could only left for Real. It was my dream, that’s all.”

Now we know all about Real being his dream move but after the deal was done its very easy to say that he could only leave for real. And remember how Ferguson hijacked Roy Keane and Dimi Berbatov singings by personally meeting them? Once again another case of laziness in transfer dealings.

Well that has surprised me to be honest! The way the Geordies are whining and cursing, I thought he had played like not more than 10 games a season  . Live and learn Craig man, live and learn  .

I truly hope he does keep fit and hit form to us, because he said that the last couple of months have made him feel like an axe murderer, the way people have been spitting venom at him. He believes he can hit form for United, and the other international United players will help and inspire him. He is desperate to be all he can for Fergie and the club, and of course he aspires to get back for England and the world cup. Lil’ Mickey smiles and burning desire in the eyes have got be contagious. I fully understand the doubters but we have to admit this attitude can only be good to the squad. As proven in the infamous Champions League final, nothing can beat a unified team, having the same drive toward one goal: winning.

Think of it like this: You’ve been in United so long, you’ve won so many trophies…you got it all the quids, WAG and prestige. After a time, you forget how luckey you are playing for this club not all of them, but it’s easy to lose focus.) Then this lil’ guy who had it all think of his move as a blessing from the Heavens.

He’s excited, he can’t wait to play about football again. How to beat this defender, what set-play will be used. The fun is back. Old fashion football. If Owen scores and Rooney runs to congratulates him on the pitch, he won’t turn his back on him, wanting to have the adulation of the crowd. They say a rotten apple tend to rot the basket. Well, a shinny apple tend to glare on others.

The guy’s got a point to prove to the world. He’s a marvellous project. Maye he will fail but if he proves his doubters wrong, it could well be one of the greatest comeback in recent history.

If he flops then who cares we didn’t pay shit for him and we don’t pay him shit. But because of the way the contract is written we only have to pay him for succeeding. So either way we can’t lose. Oh I hate when they played for the Dippers and did well for them, but lets just say, I respect their abilities as players. I could never say that about Drogba or John Terry or even Vieira or that ass wipe Henry. Owen to me was a great player and I hope he regains a lot of his previous form. He could have a late career Renaissance the way Teddy Sheringham had with us when he was over 30.

Try as I should, I could never dislike Michael Owen. And I used to love the Rooney/ Owen partnership for England. I am looking forward to him becoming a super sub for us and reinventing himself.

@Dan: I too noticed how happy he was and to be fair I read years ago when he was a Liverpool player that he often fantasized playing for us despite the rivalry. I know that back when he went to Real Madrid Fergie was interested in him then but of course Rafa would not deal him to us. I also know that he has been a steady favorite of Fergie’s for a long time.

I’m happy for the lad because as far as Scousers go, he is a very likable lad and he deserves better than he’s gotten. Too be honest, my heart went out to him with all his injuries but I especially felt bad for him during his stay at Real Madrid where politics and favoritism kept him on the bench despite his superiority to many of the players playing in front of him. It’s good to see him so happy and feeling rejuvenated and reborn. Hopefully that shows on the pitch and that he finds great form again. The problem is the EPL is a very cynical league and their will hitmen out there trying to put him in the hospital again. And they probably will succeed.

he claimed he wanted to play for UNITED all the way up until April/May time yet he’s now saying he was never going to sign for UNITED long before this, joker!

UNITED fans better take a long look @ themselves before taking players of this ilk under their bussom again, we’re all made to look like idiots because of ‘fans’ that put player before club – time & time again.

Tevez needs to know his place, he’s the Argentinian Alan Smith (i was an Alan Smith fan btw  ), players like this get all the adulation whilst players like Park take all the criticism, Park may not be a top-class winger but he knows his limitations unlike ‘the Argentinian Alan Smith’ – punk!

He saw this as an opportunity of a lifetime and that money and guarantees were not important. He just wants to play football for a team that appreciates and wants him and to prove his critics wrong. When United called, he was over the moon instantly and he never let anything else get in his way. To Hell with Liverpool, old fans and acquaintances and all that rivalry shite. @vanderberg: What does O’Shea do on the pitch? Well for one, he doesn’t make mistakes and give the ball up. Secondly, he is responsible and he plays his position with discipline and doesn’t continually vacate his area and his responsibilities on the pitch. He doesn’t cough up the ball to opponents, he is much better defensively and in the air and he is also capable of scoring a goal or two. Here’s a thing, when he goes forward or even when he doesn’t he can cross the ball decently and his passes are usually precise and not blind. Bottom line, he’s not a skinned sausage. Evra is the worst crosser of all left backs in the game. When was the last time he made a forward run that led to a good cross or excellent pass at the end of his run? Try never. Ever since he returned from his 4 game suspension, he has been a shadow of his formerly semi-useless self. Frankly, I cannot stomach him and his uselessness any more. We hardly give up goals as a team and as a back four but when we do, usually 65% to 70% of them occur due to a mistake by Evra. Go back and look at the two goals scored against us in the CL Final. The first was a mistake in positioning by Evra. The second was a blind giveaway by Evra that led to Messi’s header. He is shite.

And if I hear one more person compliment a player because he does well for him on a fucking video game I will have a fucking embolism.

First off, Bayern isn’t selling and you what they are like when they are in a defensive posture. Secondly, Fergie and united have not been linked to him in any way or form and don’t seem to think there is a need at LB, or RB for that matter. And Lahm has never expressed a desire to come play for us. So you are frustrating yourself for nothing.

I tend to get all flustered about players who I know are linked to us and those who I know are diehard United supporters like Adler, Pogrebnyak, Huntelaar and Aguero. And other than them, the players I would most like to see at Old Trafford in the near future would be Arshavin, Alex Sanchez, Neuer, Marin, Lahm, Torres, Hernanes, Melo, Berg and Toivonen. I’ll bet you right now that we will seen none of them ever. Fergie just isn’t on my wave length any more when it comes to judging talent.

whether i (or any of us) wish him well will have no impact on what he does in a Madrid kit, so i could care less but if i had have an opinion, i would hope he falls flat on his face. he doesn’t play for UNITED anymore so fook him, i can like & admire opposition players but if they win or not isn’t of my concern (very few players permitting). he’s one of your favourite ever players so i can understand your view, i was sort of like that with Beckham & would be with Rooney but Ronaldo even with his comments lately doesn’t get anywhere near their status in my book.

& on another note, i doubt they win enough to cover the tab of their spending over the next 5years, Zidane only won so much for them & there was only one Ze-Zi; they’ve done what they usually do; bought lods of forwards & one defender who will shoulder all the responsibility defensively. they’ll be killer going forward but will always leak a goal.

Like I said before, his form was always erratic at best but he really slipped in to Stuperville when he returned from his suspension. Ever since then he looks like a baseball player who has quit steroids. He is half the player he used to be and he seems to be getting worse by the week. Go back and look at every goal we gave up this year in which he played. You will see him either cough up the ball, or be way out of position or get skinned by an opponent. It’s bad enough that he is a horrible defender but his end game after he moves forward is awful. His supply to forwards is an absolute joke. I wouldn’t start him if I was managing the Vancouver Whitecaps here in Canada. That’s how poor I think he is. The reason he is still with us is because LB is a tough position to fill with any real efficiency.

    RedDevilEddys predictions for 2009/10 season.

    Premier League

    Winners: Manchester United
    Runners up: Chelsea
    Relegated: Wolves, Hull, Portsmouth
Top acorers: Rooney, Torres and Arshavin
Top assists: Nani, Young and Gerrard
Player of the season: Wayne Rooney
Young player of the season: Rafael da Silva

    Champions League

    Winner: Barcelona
    Runner up: Liverpool
    Top scorer: Leo Messi
    Top assists: Xavi
    Player of the season: Iniesta

This is me trying to be realistic, not biased. I dont think our CURRENT squad has the capabilities to win the Champions League, but I feel the Premier League very possible. We have a good enough squad to win that one, but when coming up agaisnt teams like Barca or Real, we will need a midfield enforcer. So unless Anderson or Hargreaves can step up to the plate and become great midfielders for our team, or we dont buy a player like De Rossi/Essien/Toure, it will be difficult competiong with the top dogs in European football. Still, I feel Liverpool will do well there if they can keep hold of their players, but it will cost them the League. Still, Barca are waaaay to strong at the moment to be beaten buy the likes of Liverpool or ourselves.

Still, this prediction is based on the current squads of the teams in Europe. Real will fail because of a terrible defense, Chelsea are getting too old and Inter just suck…

And if my memory serves me right you were one of the loudest to shout about our wastefulness in front of goal last year, a fit Owen would have had a field day at OT last season and offers something that we dont have, and having watched his interviews since signing it seems that he is genuinely delighted to be joining United.
It could be SAFs most shrewdest signing ever, if he can stay fit and healthy and gets plenty of playing then theres no doubt he will score goals for us and having missed out on our primary targets I think its a wise move not to be panicked into paying 15 to 20 million for an average joe who we dont really want, Graeme Souness is already predicting the possibilty of Owen finishing as top scorer, a bit premature maybe but he brings that potential.

@Fred The Red: I was one of the loudest dissenters when I first heard United were talking with Owen. I wasn’t concerned he was an ex L’pool player so much, but it was indeed the injury thing, and after Saha, I wasn’t thrilled on getting another injury risk in again. I thought Owens best days were behind him, and that we were out of our minds to consider getting him. Since his interviews though, I am impressed with his desire to come good again, to recapture the years the locust has eaten, and to do his every upmost to repay the faith SAF was entrusting in him. I think SAF knows exactly what to expect from Owen, and I believe it is just to score goals, and that is the only contribution that SAF wants of him. Owen has confidence in himself, and in the interviews he says the way to silence the doubters and knockers, is on the field, and he is glad he has that opportunity with United. So time will tell Fred. I really hope the lad does come good though, and we help him to get to the World Cup next year.

@Craig Mc: Hes been pretty unfortunate with injuries mate, the broken ankle and the metatarsal injuries coud have happened to any one and the knee injury was by all accounts thoroughly checked during the medical, his main problem has been not getting a clear 5 to 6 month injury free run to build his fitness and body back up.
I remember Roy Keane being sidelined for a few months about 6 years ago and when he returned people were saying that he was not the same player and that the injury had taken part of his game away, but the reality is that when a player returns from a long term injury it takes a good 3 or 4 months of game time to get properly fit, and Keane went on to play some great stuff for us. Training only gets you 70 to 80 percent fit mate, playing matches gets you the rest and this is something that Owen has been denied, if he gets a good pre season under his belt and stays injury free for the next 2 or 3 months then it could be like signing a 20 to 30 million pound player, worth the effort if you ask me.

    1. Eto’o doesn’t want to move to Manchester City, a middle table team. Eto’o says that he will drop his astronomical wage and signing on money, if Man United come in for him. If he leaves Barca, he would like a big club like United – hmmmmmmm!

    2. Michael Owen has apparently been trying to return to Anfield for last 3 years +, and would have signed for them for 25,000 a week if they would have had him. His reps were talking to L’pool even as he was at OT so NOTW report, but Rafa unlike SAF didn’t want to take a chance. They go on to say that once Owen sat down with Fergie, he was convinced and wanted to sign for United there and then. I don’t think he ever thought he had ANY CHANCE of United coming in for him, and he was trying his best to return to Pool, as he wanted CL football.

    3. Nani is extremely worried and insecure about his future at OT. He is going to seek SAF out during pre season and find out where he stands. Athletico and Villareal have enquired about him, and 2 clubs in Italy, and he needs to make decisions about his future . I told you he had offers from Spain, and would probably go. @Craig Mc: I don’t believe that report on Nani. For one, there aren’t any direct quotes from the man himself. Even if it was true I can’t really blame Nani. At least he has the class not to whine in public like Tevez.

Regarding Eto’o, I have my misgivings about him. He’s an extremely whiny, moody character. Every summer at Barcelona he finds something to whine about. Last year he was talking about how he felt ‘unloved’. This year it’s insane wages.

Secondly, I think we may not sign him because of his wage demands and the fact that he’s already 28+. It would make a mockery of the over 26 policy. Also, I think he doesn’t have the heading prowess which is what we seem to lack upfront. And apart from that, it will throw a spanner in the works if we are to get Berbatov and Rooney as our primary strike force.

    ReplyReply
  209. Redrich says:

@Red Ranter: How would it throw a spanner in the works?? You think that Rooney and Berbatov work well together, or could, with Owen thrown in? These two are just screaming for a big strike partner to play with!!

I guess if we just rule out the whiny’s and the moody’s and the unloved, we just end up with the Owen’s of this world. And by the way, I do think he violates our 26 policy too!!

    ReplyReply
  210. Red Ranter says:

@Redrich: He didn’t cost us a dime so there is no question of diminishing value — which was main motivation behind our below-26 policy in the first place.

Regarding Rooney and Berbatov we need to find a way to make it work. That’s 60m of talent right there and it will be a damn shame if it doesn’t. Also, I think both Owen or Eto’o would benefit from Berbatov alongside them rather than Rooney. So buying Eto’o would force Rooney out wide more often than not because I’m pretty sure the Cameroonian wouldn’t appreciate being benched.

I think Berbatov will benefit from having a full pre-season and Ferguson should work out a way to make Rooney work with Berbatov.

I am convinced that the striker situation is the least of our worries. We should really go for a creative winger/midfilderl and a dominant central midfielder.

    ReplyReply
  211. Redrich says:

@Red Ranter: Well no, because you are making a case that we could prevail, and perhaps do better than last season, with the subtraction of Tevez and the addition of Owen. To most people that is at best a wash!!
Im sure, as you are, that Berbatov will benefit from his time with the team (although I’m not sure how much more of a benefit the preseason could help over the full season of integration with the team he’s already had) and I expect improvements from him because of that. But the fact remains that we were anemic in attack last season and we’ve not taken anything for that yet!

I think the addition of a CMF’er is vital also, and I’ve made my points about that repeatedly, but without that vital attacking force ahead of him, we will be mired in the “Italian” style of play that Grognard refers to all the time!! It will not suit us, or our league, or most of the players in our squad.

The key benefit of the Owen aquisition, so it seems, is the fact it didn’t cost the club a penny. We can wallow in the knowledge that if things don’t work out, we can simply wipe our hands of the whole situation, nothing lost and, of course, nothing gained. In the meantime every one of our competitors have taken a step or two ahead and we are just simply treading water!!

@Redrich: I am not making any case for doing better. I am saying if we improve the service from midfield and add some more creativity on the wings we’d do just fine with our strike force. I think we need to evolve to a system that looks to spread the goals around the pitch, rather than the Ronaldo reliant system of old. So having a midfielder who could pitch in about 10-12 goals and a creative winger to give us that spark to break down defences is what I am getting at. Who that maybe, I can’t really say.

I think our next season won’t be pretty regardless of what we buy. It will be a transition season. If we do better, it will be yet another personal triumph for Ferguson. I think we must be prepared for a graft.

The system you suggest (without Ronaldo) is probably the most realistic of scenarios, but to honest with you, it’s the least desirable of all options that I think about now.
To replace Ronaldo, we have an impossible task, but to replace his production you would need to change things somewhat. Change from the unpredictable, one-man show, to a more conventional attacking style that relies on precise finishing as well as precise service.

The Rooney/Berbatov partnership has yet to show any promise at all, with a relatively small CF supported by a relatively lazy set-up guy. There is not a dynamic aspect to it, and swapping them back and forth and throwing Owen into the mix will not change things.
We have 2 valuble players, that individually, have made their mark on the game but not on the team!! We need someone, acting proficiently and without prejudice to make a conduit between these 2 and the success they want. Like Rooney with Heskey for England, like Berbatov with Keene for Spurs.
The Rooney/Berbatov partnership will not have it’s place in history, but individually these two have huge potentials and lets hope it comes to fruition with UNITED!!

He seems terrified that United fans don’t understand his decision, and afraid of not being loved on his return to OT, so that he keeps trying to blame everybody but himself for his demise and choices. I almost feel sorry for him now, he is certainly NOT RIGHT IN HIS HEAD! He knows he is in for a torrid time on his return to OT.

Craig I agree Tevez is not a happy bunny. I think he would have done better to make a fresh start in Italy or somewhere. It will be hard for him playing for the second class team in Manchester having failed at the number one team! I also do not fancy his chances of playing when Santa Cruz and Robinho will be ahead of him in the pecking order and City seem keen on buying either Et’oo or Guiza.

Nani has a right to want reassurances about his future. He is a young player and he cannot develop without regular games. If he is not in Fergusons plans he needs to move elsewhere to develop. I also think if Fergie gave him more reassurances he would not feeel the neeed to try to impress so much and would become more of a team player.

Dan last season I wanted us to buy Ronaldinho. I thought if you take him away from Barcelona and give him a fresh start he’d get his head back in the game. But he has had a chance to revive his career at Milan and he hasn’t really made much of that opportunity.

If we are talking midfielders Id like us to buy a player called Kacar. The guy is 6 foot, his relatives are boxing champions, he is very versatile and with Vidic, Berbatov, Tosic, Ljajic he’d add to our East European contingent.

@colver: Yeah, I have been thinking about this whole Tevez complaints thing Colver! His statements that SAF believes he is coming back, and that as far as HE KNOWS, United have thrown him out of OT, I begin to feel that his dilemma is more due to what he is BEING FED by Joorabchian about what United are supposedly saying and doing, rather than anything else. There is no doubt that Tevez not been present at the meetings between United and his advisors, he has no truth of what really was being said. No doubt either that his slave owners are more concerned about their own financial gains, than they are about Tevez happiness, and of that I am 100% sure. Joorabchians party have more gain from a City move, but Tevez has more pain and loss. This is what happens I guess when you sell your soul to the Devil. Jooachian will not have told Tevez anything but what suits his purposes – shame! Joorabchian found United too tough a NUT TO CRACK, and so moved on to the more financially wastrel, but compliant City  .

Also Ranier (scouse GK) has BLASTED Tevez and Barry for choosing to go to City for nothing but £££££££ signs. He cried that they are disrespecting L’pool, and show no honour in running to money, instead of going to the great teams    . How does he feel about Mascherano demanding to go to Barcelona, and Alonso to Real M then??? I feel he is such a hypocrite, because he said when Ronaldo chose Madrid, that he was right to do so. No sympathy from me Reiner!

Cause somehow I think Fergie doesnt think he needs any, he has massive faith in Gibson, Anderson and Fletcher, Scholes and Giggs are huge favorites and he is a huge fan of Carrick and Hargreaves. That leaves us with Anderson, Carrick, Hargreaves and Fletcher. While not bad at all and certainly good enough to win the prem with, I think Palacios gives us a bit of extra muscle that even a fit Hargeaves might not be able to bring. Palacios is a big mother!

Did you all hear that Barca was apparently considering a 30million Euro bid for none other than Diego Forlan?
Now the thing with Forlan is that I clearly remember people – and most UTd fans included – that he was not good enough for United.

For me that case is very similar to what we are now experiencing with Nani. Both players had occasional playing stints, but very rarely were granted a prolonged incusion in the starting eleven. And when they were, they produced the goods. If I’m not mistaken Forlan started playing really well, scoring and all, when Ruud came back from injury and Diego was subsequently benched.
The Nani case is strikingly similar as many people are rating his productivity based from his occasional outings.
Now Eddy is Young’s greatest fanboy here, but even Young had plenty of game time to show what he’s capable of, and I for one would bet on Nani to be able to produce what Young delivered given the same amount of minutes, and in a more entertaining manner too!

But because it was “Watford”, yuk, I knew that Fergie wouldnt go for him. But when O`Neill bought him I was happy to see a club of that status give him the kind of belief they did. He got great confidence from that, and as we all know confidence is vital for wingers. They are histe without it, and that is why Nani hasnt had such a great season. He didnt have the confidence the likes of Ronaldo, Giggs or Becks had when they stepped onto the scene. Now, even though Ashley Young is a player I admire highly and what I would call my dream United signing, I want Nani to become the player we all believe he can become. He is my most favorite player behind Andy, Wazza and Vida, and the way he played in the 2007/08 season and parts of last were amazing! If there is one player I want to to fullfil his potensial, well, besides from Andy, its Nani! Which is one reason why I am a little turned off by a Young transfer… :???: Nani can become a world beater, he is an amazing talent which I feel can only become better. If he fails at United, its only because of missing confidence. Fucking hell, he has the ability and the quality, the only thing he needs is to feel that Fergie and the fans are behind him!

Even so, we do really need a new winger. If either Nani or Valencia gets injured, it means Park will have to play. And even worse, if we dont buy a new winger Ji may be our second choice winger behind Valencia!  Which is why I feel we still need a new winger, and Ashley Young would be the one I preffered…

Those six are all I can think of, but then there are the likes of Ronaldo, Rafael, Carrick, Nani, Solskjær, Yorke, Kanchelskis, Schmeicel, Keano, Vidic and Evra. Who would have believed that we would buy Sheringham, Larsson and Owen?! Two of those made great things for our club, and Owen can prove a real gem. I think we should give the number 7 to Valencia unless we buy a new player. e have to remember that even thought the number 7 shirt has belonged to some huge names within football, Becks, Ronaldo, Cantona and Best, some of those names werent even known before they were at United. Back then, Becks wasnt more rated that Gibson is right now! Ronaldo wasnt bigger than Valencia, practically the same. Cantona was probably the only guy that had a “big name” when he got the jersey. I know the number 7 shirt is now more than just a number, it is the sacred number in the squad. BUT, it also is a token for belief and potensial. Ronny, Becks and Kanchelskis? Yeah, so we should give a number to a young player that can turn out great, or a new signing which has a big future ahead of him. In Fergies eyes, that man may be Valencia, as he has gone for him for more than a year! So maybe, just maybe…

@RedDevilEddy: You have to count Veron because
he was a big name, and because your assertion was we don’t buy big names. And even if we don’t, what is so unique about it? Apart from Real Madrid, who started this whole galacticos thing, and Chelsea, in recent history most of the big clubs succeeded in attracting the most promising young talents from South America and Europe. Squad development has always been the focus in most normal football clubs. Clubs like Barcelona, Milan have historically built clubs not by blindly buying the best talent that is there. So I don’t think we are unique in that respect. Like most successful clubs we look to find the best mix of stars and young promising talent. So to me your assertion that only United seem to do that (as if others don’t) doesn’t make sense to me.

@Red Ranter: What I meant that we, unlike other succesful clubs, continue with our philosophy. Arsenal still play young lads that they get from the academy and such, but I wont call them succesful. Liverpool didnt post a serious challenge to us until they bought Torres, Macherano and Keane. Chelsea were the worst, but they have calmed lately. Because of what Real have done this summer, I feel incredibly proud of what United do. Owen may have been a big name, but he was a signing out of the blue! A has been, nobody really expected that. Valencia too, and we used players such as Welbeck, Gibson, Rafael, Evans and Macheda many times last season, very important players to our title win. So what I meant by my statement is that Im proud that United didnt panic to buy a “big name” to replace Ronaldo, but instead a player like Valencia, with no higher status than Ronny had in 2003. Anderson and Nani werent particulary “big names”, even though they cost a lot, and they are poised to be replacements for two of the biggest names in Manchester United history, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes. Not Ribery, not Aguero, not Ronaldinho or such, but players like Costa, Sanchez and Valencia. Someone great and dynamic has to be bought to fill that jersey because we presently have nobody who suitably deserves to wear it. Rooney is a forward and he deserves the #10. #7 is more ideal for a midfielder, AMF or winger. Yes Cantona wore it but Cantona was more like AMF than a conventional forward. He wasn’t about goals as much as he was about setting them up.

In that squad, I will say only 3 were “big name” signings. Rooney, Berba and Rio. If we look at Chelsea, we will find many more big name signings. I dunno if you can call Arsenal or Liverpool a succesful squad, so dont count them. Barca I respect, because many of their players are made by the club, not bought. Real Madrid fans should feel ashamed, as they only have Casillias and Raul tos how for it. Marcelo, Pepe and Diarra are probably the only names in that squad that arent bought as a big name. The big problem I have with Fergie, is that yes he brings players in, and says “yes, they are for the future.” Then he gets all attached to the one or two and foams over them, and they get every advantage, like Rooney and Ronaldo particularly. The others have to take a backseat, and this is why Anderson, Nani etc have regressed rather than progressed. We forget that these players are really just young lads, who in blind faith have stepped away from their homelands, families, cultures and everything they have known, to come to fulfil dreams at United. Yet they are not all on an equal footing, some have their confidence stroked continually by Fergie, while others barely get a glance. Not everybody has great or even good things to say about our Manager. Pique felt rejected by SAF, and in truth I suspect Rossi did too. That’s just a couple of youngsters. We all know SAF has his favourites and its no use denying it! ALL young players should be encouraged and have their confidence built up, but I know with SAF their is a flaw in his attitudes here!

Several clubs would like him, and the article writers sources in OT (NOT NANI), have said that he will be discussing with SAF soon where he fits into his plans. Whenever Nani has talked to the press he has ALWAYS said positive and not negative things about the club. But I personally think he does need to know where he stands, and I know for a fact, that Fergie doesn’t mind any player going to him and chatting to him about their futures. I dont believe they should have to do that, Fergie should let them know where they stand, and how he feels about them, because young lads do feel unnerved and insecure, especially if they don’t understand, or are never told WHY they are left out, when others are never left out. @Craig Mc: I honestly don’t know what you are going on about Bro? I am not against Nani in any way. I just think he needs to tread very carefully when dealing with Fergie. If he ever complains to the media, that will be the end of him. If he just demands a meeting with the Boss to discuss his future, the Boss may take that as confrontational, I honestly don’t know. All I am saying is I think he should not say anything and wait out the manager to see where he stands. Confronting him may not work out well. Especially if there is an interpretor in the room. Nani needs to keep quiet and make his noise on the pitch by showing the Boss his quality.

Up until about 20 years ago when athletes started taking better care of their bodies by involving themselves in healthy alternatives like steroids and orgies, smoking and drinking was considered a regular pastime and millions of athletes around the world smoked and played. I’m not saying it’s a good thing to do, but I am saying that it is his business and United do not own his body in that way. It will shorten his career no doubt, but it does not have to ruin it. Someone should talk to him and tell him that the club would prefer he stopped and leave it at that.

Ronaldo says something about Ref. protection and the amount of fire power being poured into the Spanish League will raise the profile. DUMB FUCKS. As Fergie has proven time and time again, you can’t just buy class and prestige. Its earned!
@Karl: Yeah, I think CQ was instrumental in keeping the foreigners at bay in England I wonder is how these Latinos expect to play in all these games. And how do these idiots hope to all fit in Madrid? Its a true wonder what happens in Real. Are they not going to cut some labor costs?
I don’t watch the Spanish League, is it really all that entertaining? Its harder to get stats and info, and its in Spanish so I have to learn to speak it to truly enjoy. I just wait for these assholes to come show what they got in the UCL. But the 100 goals between three players at Barca last season was phenomenal. Maybe I should start taking peaks?

I think Ronaldo (as great a player as what he is) is a prat. He is however, a very intelligent prat. I however do not fall for some more of his bullshit. He left. End of. I admire his skills, but have absolutely no respect for him as a person. He had none for me as a supporter when he fucked up my celebrations, nor when he lied to us about being happy at OT and deciding to stay here. (Remember those ‘lying’ statements Craig mc?). Yet, he already trademarked CR9, and signed a pre-contract???
I am not one of those idiots that will fall again for every word coming out of his mouth. He’s just saying what we want to hear. Doesn’t mean he’s truthful about it.
And yet we hate Carlito for lying?

@Red Ranter: Those teams you put up, like AC Milan, used to do it like us. But these days, when we see teams like Inter, Real and Chelski splash the cash, we invest in youngsters. AC Milan still incest in youth, but not to the effect they did previously. Plus, they lost out on a CL spot two seasons ago, and had difficulties reaching second this season. While we, Manchester United dont panic like Real. When we went 3 years without winning any trophies, we only bought an underrated Carrick and PIG. The year before it was Park and Edwin. While Chelski bought players like Sheva, Essien, Carvalho, Cech and Drogba, we invested in Ronaldo and Rooney who stepped onto the scene, and made players like Carrick and Scholes our engima in midfield. Even though Chelsea imporved their squad even more the next summer, we bought Nani and Anderson, two very important members of our title win. Tevez and Hargreaves too, which may be two guys you can call big names. And even when we lost two of the biggest names in world football, Ronaldo and Tevez, we replace them with Valencia and Owen. One bright talent which I think is hugely underrated, and an overthehill striker. Fergie=God.

@Stephen: Yes, a crafty and pacy winger; works either flank, not the best crosser of the ball, great footwork, tricky and beats defenders with pace and tricks and likes to bring the ball into the box himself from the wings rather than cross it at times, good with both feet, but does not make all the best decisions…typical 17 year-old footballer. Donibrasco, Park is one of the best squad players we have. If you play against a team which is very strong on the flanks Park can neutralise them. The only problem last year was we were using him too much in games where his defensive attributes were not required and his attacking impotency became a problem.

I’ve read good things about Obertan as well. Plays on the right wing, can also play midfield or as a striker, and is a very good dribbler and is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in France. However the guy has scored very few goals. So I still think we need a goalscoring midfielder.

My only question is that where does that leave Valencia who also plays on the right? Is Fergie’s plan to convert Valencia into a central midfielder? Surely if anything we need a left winger because Fergie doesn’t seem to rate Nani and we only have Tosic as cover.

Is it just me or is everyone secretly hoping we could just splash the cash instead of buying this little prospects Wenger-style? I’m really afraid we get the big names too late and they turn out like Berbatov, lacking the settling-in pre-season period. Come on Fergie, the fans need something to wank about.
