Carlos Tevez continues to spout venom

Tag: Manchester United News @ 8:43 am

It seems some people find it hard to move on. We all acknowledge that sometimes, in a relationship, both parties might have been at fault and, like adults, we say what we have to say, and move on.

The relationship between clubs and players, players and managers and players and fans is not that different in essence. [Of course, if a player spites his fans, then the gloves are usually off, and we see even mild-mannered, cultured adults turn juvenile -- but I digress.]

Carlos Tevez, falls in the second category. And, by recent evidence, has shown little signs of growing up.

According to today’s report in the MirrorTevez accuses Fergie of lying to him about his squad status after signing Berbatov.

“Ferguson still believes I will be at United next season. He thinks I will return. But I know what I want and I know that Ferguson did not respect me as a player. Before Berbatov arrived in Manchester, Ferguson told me, ‘You will still be the starting striker, so be cool’. But he lied to me! That is why I know I will not return to United.

For one, football has become a squad game. Much of United’s success over the course of the past three years has been built around having good squad depth and players understanding that rotation is a part of life at United. Rotating players kept us in the hunt for a good part of the season. And for a manager, the toughest job is to ensure a reasonable mix of players for the right game. Tevez’s appearances over the course of the season is proof that he has got more playing time than some others in the side. He was mis-treated by the club management, of that there is little doubt. The United management weren’t forthright enough to work out his contract details, and we all know that. But today he still feels he has to whine some more to the press:

“What I want to do next season is score against United. I promise I will not celebrate in front of the United fans but I will shout in Ferguson’s face. You can be sure of that – and it will be one of the most beautiful things I have done in football.”

Well, Charlie. We wish you good luck on that. And you don’t have to bother trying to show respect to us fans. We aren’t really on your side anymore. And, just so you don’t wear a bewildered look when you visit OT, expect some booing from the stands.

Update: Also, in case you haven’t heard, Wayne Rooney had a minor accident when he bumped his head. Doctors thought he may have had a concussion. But it was reported to be nothing serious. Today Rooney updated his twitter status, and like we jobless folks track stuff like this, here’s what he says on his head and Owen:

Thanks for all the messages my heads fine it wont stop me starting preseason il be there on Monday looking forward to meeting up with Michael Gosh that was a shock but hes a proven goal scorer but maybe just not been at the right club thats no offence to Newcastle. The Gaffer knows what hes doing always has I think this could be a Great season again for Utd Cant wait , Hols nearly finished! Bye 4 now.

So with those golden words from the Roon, we can sleep today in peace.

  • @Craig Mc: It’s going to be a year filled with eye sores I believe. We have gone from classy to tacky, and for what?

  • @Dan: I too noticed how happy he was and to be fair I read years ago when he was a Liverpool player that he often fantasized playing for us despite the rivalry. I know that back when he went to Real Madrid Fergie was interested in him then but of course Rafa would not deal him to us. I also know that he has been a steady favorite of Fergie’s for a long time.

I’m happy for the lad because as far as Scousers go, he is a very likable lad and he deserves better than he’s gotten. Too be honest, my heart went out to him with all his injuries but I especially felt bad for him during his stay at Real Madrid where politics and favoritism kept him on the bench despite his superiority to many of the players playing in front of him. It’s good to see him so happy and feeling rejuvenated and reborn. Hopefully that shows on the pitch and that he finds great form again. The problem is the EPL is a very cynical league and their will hitmen out there trying to put him in the hospital again. And they probably will succeed.

  • this is the same guy UNITED ‘fans’ were fawning over, joke!

the second he cupped his ears towards Fergie & the Directors box he lost all forms of respect in my eyes. the fact UNITED fans got swept up in his game is what makes me sick, he was a useful player & nothing more; his reputation goes far before him & we won’t win or lose the League because of Tevez.

he claimed he wanted to play for UNITED all the way up until April/May time yet he’s now saying he was never going to sign for UNITED long before this, joker!

UNITED fans better take a long look @ themselves before taking players of this ilk under their bussom again, we’re all made to look like idiots because of ‘fans’ that put player before club – time & time again.

Tevez needs to know his place, he’s the Argentinian Alan Smith (i was an Alan Smith fan btw  ), players like this get all the adulation whilst players like Park take all the criticism, Park may not be a top-class winger but he knows his limitations unlike ‘the Argentinian Alan Smith’ – punk!

  • @NicoQB: no dude I am not.
@Grognard: I think evra is far better than o’shea. what does o’shea do on the football field
->ok he is a good in the air
->when he gets the ball with yards of space ahead of him he does not go forward and just passes it.
->he is a kind of player who just remains at the same level no matter how many games does he play.
coming to evra he is quick, has an attacking instinct plays the one touch passing nicely.
oh,when I play fifa or PES manager mode with MU i just sell o’shea right off in the first transfer season

  • @Zauberlehrling: You know what I liked about his attitude mate? He meets with Fergie for breakfast and Fergie tells him he’d like him to play for Man Utd. He doesn’t then defer to his agent or ask what the terms are. He just says yes right away and that he would be honored. No hesitation or decision making process at all. He saw this as an opportunity of a lifetime and that money and guarantees were not important. He just wants to play football for a team that appreciates and wants him and to prove his critics wrong. When United called, he was over the moon instantly and he never let anything else get in his way. To Hell with Liverpool, old fans and acquaintances and all that rivalry shite. He knew this was a golden opportunity and he jumped into as quickly and as enthusiastically as if Kimberly Walsh asked CraigMC for a one night stand. Pre engagement of course. You gotta love Owen for that.

  • in other news, Ronaldo has been the utmost gentleman since leaving. in a weird way, i respect him more now he’s left than when he was @ UNITED. he’s not slagged off the club or the team, he simply wanted to go to Madrid & i can’t blame a man for wanting what he wants.

comments like this – http://fourfourtwo.com/news/england/33398/default.aspx , have truly made me respect the man,i thought he’d be far more petulant but he’s been gracious.

    @Grognard:
Wow, man…I had the very exact same feeling! The happiness he shows on all the pictures that were taken IS contagious. I had this really good feeling yesterday about all of this. The lad is likeable, for sure.

For me, it was when the journalist asked him how the meeting went and Mickey said along the lines of: I let my agent take care of all the details. All I wanted to know was: where do I sign? We only talked about football.

Love that. The lil’ lad so probably so happy he would have signed a contract even if he had to pay to play of United. I know one thing: the smiles and happiness were genuine. You cannot fake that.

Now, like I told you on another forum: Gimme a piece of lahm and an attacking world class midfielder and we could be in for quite a treat.

  • @vanderberg: What does O’Shea do on the pitch? Well for one, he doesn’t make mistakes and give the ball up. Secondly, he is responsible and he plays his position with discipline and doesn’t continually vacate his area and his responsibilities on the pitch. He doesn’t cough up the ball to opponents, he is much better defensively and in the air and he is also capable of scoring a goal or two. Here’s a thing, when he goes forward or even when he doesn’t he can cross the ball decently and his passes are usually precise and not blind. Bottom line, he’s not a skinned sausage. Evra is the worst crosser of all left backs in the game. When was the last time he made a forward run that led to a good cross or excellent pass at the end of his run? Try never. Ever since he returned from his 4 game suspension, he has been a shadow of his formerly semi-useless self. Frankly, I cannot stomach him and his uselessness any more. We hardly give up goals as a team and as a back four but when we do, usually 65% to 70% of them occur due to a mistake by Evra. Go back and look at the two goals scored against us in the CL Final. The first was a mistake in positioning by Evra. The second was a blind giveaway by Evra that led to Messi’s header. He is shite.

And if I hear one more person compliment a player because he does well for him on a fucking video game I will have a fucking embolism.

  • @flu3: I was very impressed with Ronaldo’s words, show of love and respect for both Fergie and United as well as us fans. He showed some real class. I also think it was brave and very classy for him to come back to Manchester and meet with Fergie for dinner to say thanks for everything. I am very proud and happy with the lad for this great sign of respect and class. He needed to go to live out his dream, which I believe will end up a nightmare, but he needs to find that out himself. I wish him well.

  • @Grognard: exactly, don’t get me wrong some of his antics were embarrassing but it shows a touch of humuility we don’t see from him on the pitch.

as far as wishing him well, i hope he fails & goes on to not win anything again but that’s because he must learn.

  • @Zauberlehrling: You seem really obsessed with Lahm mate. I too love him to death as he is one of my top ten favorite players period, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up of us ever signing him. First off, Bayern isn’t selling and you what they are like when they are in a defensive posture. Secondly, Fergie and united have not been linked to him in any way or form and don’t seem to think there is a need at LB, or RB for that matter. And Lahm has never expressed a desire to come play for us. So you are frustrating yourself for nothing.

I tend to get all flustered about players who I know are linked to us and those who I know are diehard United supporters like Adler, Pogrebnyak, Huntelaar and Aguero. And other than them, the players I would most like to see at Old Trafford in the near future would be Arshavin, Alex Sanchez, Neuer, Marin, Lahm, Torres, Hernanes, Melo, Berg and Toivonen. I’ll bet you right now that we will seen none of them ever. Fergie just isn’t on my wave length any more when it comes to judging talent.

Isn’t it in correlation with the plane crash of Munich? I heard the story of the song that was invented to mock those who died in the plane crash.

Man U, Man U, went on a plane! Man U, Man U, never came back again!”

“Man U, never intended in coming home!”

  • @flu3: Ah come on mate, that sounds an awful lot like bitterness to me. I hope he does very well for himself because he still is one of my all time favorite players. I just hope he wins no team awards. I want Real Madrid to crash and burn and go bankrupt due to their outrageous debt load they have created to rebuild their sorry team. I hope it backfires on them and that the team ends up in the same shape as Liverpool and Valencia and even worse. I hate that team as I see them being the Anti-Christ of football. I am hoping that Ronaldo does well but that his time there helps him reflect and realize what a true Utopia he left so that he could enter Hell. Wishful thinking. With all those players they will probably win everything in sight for the next five years.

And yet all the ABUs I know insist on calling my team that to my face. I swear its painful on the ears.

  • @Grognard: that’s because it is bitterness, i’d never deny that.

whether i (or any of us) wish him well will have no impact on what he does in a Madrid kit, so i could care less but if i had have an opinion, i would hope he falls flat on his face. he doesn’t play for UNITED anymore so fook him, i can like & admire opposition players but if they win or not isn’t of my concern (very few players permitting). he’s one of your favourite ever players so i can understand your view, i was sort of like that with Beckham & would be with Rooney but Ronaldo even with his comments lately doesn’t get anywhere near their status in my book.

& on another note, i doubt they win enough to cover the tab of their spending over the next 5years, Zidane only won so much for them & there was only one Ze-Zi; they’ve done what they usually do; bought lods of forwards & one defender who will shoulder all the responsibility defensively. they’ll be killer going forward but will always leak a goal.

  • Owen looks way, way, way too similar to Carrick on FIFA 09! Excpet for a huge difference in playing style, I cant tell them apart when playing a match…

BTW, Owen has scored 9 goals in 100 minutes- All from the bench! I am really happy he has joined us, as I was a closet fan of him ever since he scored that blinding goal against Argentina! Didnt understna dmuch of that rivalery when I was ust 5, so… Anyway, he is an awsome player and even if he has lost some of his speed he is still incredibly fast! He is probably the fastest englishman ever produced, even ahead of Walcott, when he was in his prime! And he cant have lost all of that, so I still think he cant outpace the likes of Jagielka, Skrtl and Carvalho. And his finishing speaks for itself! He is a great striker, and if he can keep fit I think Fergie has made a masterstroke here! Welcome to Manchester United Michael Owen!

Sheasy my friend gets forwrad, but more responsibly end effectively then Evra does. He gets good balls into the area when he does go forward, and he is 1000 times MORE likely to get into the area occasionally and sneak an important goal. Evra cannot do that, and his forages forward are more harm to the team than good. Not so with Sheasy!

  • @Grognard: Funny thing is though Grog, most of Owen’s injuries, if I remember correctly were hamstring tears, strains, or pure fluke twisting/falling awkwardly. I dont think he got injuries from opposition players clobbering him at all strangely enough. Well they couldn’t catch him could they?

Evra is known as skinned sausage, nothing to do with race or colour, but because attackers can be SO CLOSE to him, and yet get by him with the quickest and utmost of ease. We call that skinning, and sausages are easy to skin, so that why we joke about him being skinned like a sausage  .

  • @vanderberg: This is no slugfest mate. I’m just stating the truth. Whether you want to believe me is your prerogative. And I am not so stupid as to judge a player one bad performance. Like I said before, his form was always erratic at best but he really slipped in to Stuperville when he returned from his suspension. Ever since then he looks like a baseball player who has quit steroids. He is half the player he used to be and he seems to be getting worse by the week. Go back and look at every goal we gave up this year in which he played. You will see him either cough up the ball, or be way out of position or get skinned by an opponent. It’s bad enough that he is a horrible defender but his end game after he moves forward is awful. His supply to forwards is an absolute joke. I wouldn’t start him if I was managing the Vancouver Whitecaps here in Canada. That’s how poor I think he is. The reason he is still with us is because LB is a tough position to fill with any real efficiency.

  • @Craig Mc: That’s true but again, a twist or a sprain is usaually induced by having to do a turn or move awkwardly and usually it is brought about by opponent pressure. But all these scars and damaged parts he has can certainly not take a pounding and I have noticed over the years that teams like to be very physical with United forwards. So I worry.
