Cillessen rules out United move

Jasper Cillessen has ruled himself out of a move to Manchester United this summer by claiming he will remain at Ajax until the end of the season.

The Holland international was by many indicated as the favourite to succeed David De Gea at Old Trafford, but with United not willing to budge over the Spaniard’s desire to move to Real Madrid, it appears extremely unlikely that Louis Van Gaal will sign a new goalkeeper this summer.

Asked about his future, Cillessen said he would remain in Amsterdam at least until the end of the season, adding he had had not contacts with United this summer.

“As far as I know it has never been a thing,” he told Dutch broadcaster NOS.

“I, the club, or my agent have never heard anything. As for me, this season begins and ends at Ajax.”
