Confirmed: Man Utd vs Chelsea lineups

Jose Mourinho is back at Stamford Bridge today as Manchester United take on Chelsea in under an hour’s time.

The two lineups for today’s game are confirmed as:

Manchester United

David de Gea; Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling; Antonio Valencia, Ander Herrera, Nemanja Matic, Ashley Young; Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford

Substitutes: Sergio Romero, Daley Blind, Matteo Dariman, Marouane Fellaini, Scott McTominay, Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial

The boss has gone with a 3-4-3 formation.  Ashley Young starts as we predicted, as does Marcus Rashford to partner his fellow England international down the left wing today up against Davide Zappacosta.

Marouane Fellaini returns to the bench after missing the whole of October through injury, but Juan Mata has not been named in the matchday squad.  Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Romelu Lukaku join Rashford in the front three.

Chelsea

Thibaut Courtois; Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen, Gary Cahill; Davide Zappacosta, Tiemoue Bakayoko, N’Golo Kante, Cesc Fabregas, Marcus Alonso; Eden Hazard, Alvaro Morata

Substitutes: Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Ethan Ampadu, Danny Drinkwater, Willian, Pedro, Michy Batshuayi

There is no David Luiz for the hosts after the Brazilian looked injured during Chelsea’s 3-0 loss at AS Roma during the week.  Youngster Andreas Christensen has made a number of starts in the Chelsea back three already this season, partners Gary Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta.

N’Golo Kante is back from a recent injury to take his place as part of a central midfield three for Antonio Conte’s side, alongside Cesc Fabregas and Tiemoue Bakayoko.

It looks as though Eden Hazard will have a free role in a 3-5-1-1 formation for Nemanja Matc and Ander Herrera to pick up.
