Diouf heads out on loan
Rovers have swooped to secure a loan deal for Manchester United’s highly-rated young striker Mame Biram Diouf. The Senegalese international arrives on a season-long deal at Ewood Park.
via Blackburn Rovers Official Site.
I had a look at their squad and it looks a bit thin in the strikers department. Hopefully he gets a fair share of games. A season-long loan deal is probably good for him because on evidence of his pre-season performances he’s not going to get a nod ahead of Rooney, Berbatov, Owen and Hernandez. Even so, Macheda would be ahead of him in the pecking order.

manucho squared. fast, heading ability, and an eye for goal but not united quality. Not on the same planet as united quality, shame because his attitude seems great, but technically woeful. I hope he proves me wrong at rovers.

Hey well hopefully the lad can bang them in this year and return to us a more complete player, Diouf’s a good player just needing bit english lge experience and regular game time and at rovers he certainly get that, he have the pace and eye for goal on his side and is a powerful boy, all he need is games and it be hard at Utd this year for him so a loan is good move…i be sure to keep an eye on how he doing as to i bet will Utd and Sir Alex.

I so don’t care about the Dioufbag. Yet another Manucho wasting our time.
Good riddance to sad rubbish. See ya, wouldn’t want to be ya. Hope he never returns.

Good luck to Diouf. Personally I think we should have sent him to a Championship team. Premiership teams rarely play loan signings. Especially if they are as raw as Diouf.
What do you guys think about loaning out Obertan? He is rotting on the sidelines and at his age he should be getting regular games to develop. We signed him after his boss had given up on him. But we have done little to develop his career. Also with Park, Giggs, Valencia and Nani ahead of him he is not going to get many games for us.
I read Fergie’s comments in the earlier thread. And can provide a translation:
“I am searching for value in the market because my budget is £5 million. In this price range I cannot find any players that excite me or can improve on my current squad. But you can guarantee if I had a transfer budget of £50 million like all the other big clubs I would be splashing the cash like I did back in the day. But because I have no money to spend and it is a not particularly well kept club secret I prefer to act like there is no value in the market and all the good players are unavailable. Despite the fact all our rivals are signing good players at perfectly reasonable prices”

Some of the comments here about players are laughable. How do you write a young striker like diouf off? has anyone seen enough of him to judge? Then we have the Ozil matter where everyone is screaming for him.I know i like him,but before the world cup was there a single mention of him on the blog?
Jack Rodwell springs to mind. What the fuck has he done to justify he is united quality?
Judging by the world cup,how much would you buy Rooney?
Maybe we need to calm down and as fans if we dont get our way,we wait and see what happens.

One Question. What muppet scout is bringing these players to OT? I really hope someone is getting fired after these diouf and manucho fiasco’s. If the game is to bring in these unknowns, hype up the pricetag and sell them for more then ok.
Seriously what crack are these scouts smoking? They look to have performed a miracle with hernandez but my word, these guys (manucho, diouf) were never ever going to cut it at united. So why are they here?
What a waste of time, money, and space.

Like they say..you can’t teach speed…and he has it in abundance to burn…and he has great dribbling skill..just not quite the brain to use both in combination to good effect, yet Considering the kid is 20 I think? Let him go? A bit harsh….In pre-season he looked a handful…I think he needs another 1-2 years and he will be the real deal…it seems Fergie has taken on a lot of projects lately….the Ronaldo experience of turning a talented youngster into a world beater in along with the Glazer financial handcuffs seems to have made him feel he can take over more youth projects to develop…I personally like Obertan in terms of football ability and character….humble, hardworking, skillful lad….I think he’ll be a great impact sub for us this year or next…

@Don: Yes I have a real problem with Fergie and United taking on projects. I mean for fraks sake we are Man Utd, we don’t take on projects, we take on blue chippers. Since when have we become Everton and Villa. I don’t like our manager wasting time and effort working with projects. Instead I would rather he used that effort and time on players who are great or who have unlimited potential.

Twitter reckons tha our starting line up is :
VDS
O’Shea Vidic Evans Fabio
Valencia Carrick Scholes Park
Rooney Owen
Although I though Carrick was a week or two off. There is an easy equation for our midfield, Park and Scholes = no goals.

People give Scholes stick but he is still the best passer we have by a mile and we are going to miss that. Lovely combination with him and Rooney for the Valencia goal.

Who the fuck is supposed to be playing LW for us??? The Chelski RB is allowed to bomb up and down the field UNCHALLENGED. Isn’t Evans CH today? Then why is he on the left wing trying to get the balls into the box. Fabio so far is exposed, and SAF needs to do something about our left side of play, because we are getting skinned continually. Let’s see if SAF notices eh?

Get Hernandez and Nani on, fæææææst!
Owen has been good, but don’t want him injured, while Park on the other hand has been utter shite…
We need a winger on the left side, can’t attack only through Valencia.

Another goal for Chicharito. The guy scores every single time he plays! And great play from Valencia.
This is very promising. We are passing Chelsea off the pitch. The only worry I have is that our midfield looks very soft centred and isn’t giving our defence much protection and we also look very vulnerable on the flanks.

Oh and Berbatov is just embarassing. Playing almost in centre midfield. Loses the ball every time he gets into possession. Please Fergie sell that useless slug. Spend the money on Ozil. And give Chicharito games!

OK good goal from Berbatov but it didnt escape my notice that he does best when we play at a snails pace for example while running down the clock.

Awwww mi man Nani had a lacklustre half game today
. My MOTM and I gotta humbly give it to him was Valencia, but also Scholesy. Fletch was on his own in MF in 2nd half it seemed, and I noticed Smalling and Vida’s answer out of defence is always just lob the fuck up field, and make sure it gets to an opposition player

@colver: You got that one right Colver, but at least he sealed the game for us. I am glad Chelski didn’t play the team they did for the last half hour, for the whole game – because they came at us in wave after wave. Out two Irish fullbacks are not fullbacks at all. Sheasy didn’t do too bad in the first half, but Johnny boy stay the fuck away from full back position

Please fergie sign ozil, with him we can compete on all fronts. Scholes fans are gonna come out and claim this game as proof he should start all year, but I will say that isn’t realistic. Scholes can play fantastic in the odd game here or there, but now he is too old too sustain it.

@[OPTI]Madschester United: He looked quick today mate, we made him look great, because Park was never on the left where he should be, and Fabio is nowhere near as good as his brother, he concedes possession far too often, and makes us vulnerable to the likes of the Ferrairie’s of this world

I thought Berbatov did much better than “just embarrassing”
. He almost laid one on for Nani only for Chicha to steal in and skew it over. There were signs of a promising partnership developing between himself and Hernandez.
The only players I can criticise today are Park and O’Shea
