FA Cup tie against West Ham is United’s to lose

Tag: Betting @ 4:15 pm

United are a top priced 1.75 with bet365 to beat West Ham in their FA Cup clash at Upton Park and rate a solid bet to do just that.

It will be the eighth time they have met in the competition and the Hammers lead the head-to-head 4-3.

However the last time they met in 2003, saw the Red Devils romp to 6-0 victory at at Old Trafford and Sir Alex Ferguson’s side have won four of their last six matches in the FA Cup when away to fellow Premier League teams.

United also come into the game on top form having cruised to a 4-0 victory over Wigan in the league, and despite the fact that Sir Alex is likely to field a changed side to give some of his stars a rest they should prove too strong for their opponents who have won just one of their last five matches.

I would not be surprised to see in-form Javier Hernandez get the nod to lead the attack, and the Mexican makes plenty of appeal in the goalscorer markets.

He can be backed at 6 with bet365 to net the opener, and looks cracking value at 2.3 with the same firm to net anytime during the 90 minutes.

I am also expecting United to be quick out of the blocks, and the 2.5 on offer with Boylesports and Coral in the HT/FT market looks worth a punt given that they are as short as 2.2 elsewhere.

Over 2.5 goals also appeals at 1.7 with bet365, and I like the look of a 3-1 win for United at the 13 on offer with Betfred.

  • Aside: I think, if Spurs can get into Champions League next season and hold onto Bale, they will compete for title within 3 years. Signing Lewis Holtby is a great signing for future and a real quality player… mark my words. Tottenham.

  • West ham – vs man utd 2. Mark my word

  • I am actually in love with Robin van Persie. His touch, composure, passing, dribbling, elegance of strike, the way he swings that beautiful left foot, it is just breathtaking. We don’t do too badly with Dutch strikers do we?

  • United are certainly not getting the luck of the draw in domestic cup competitions the last couple of seasons and this one tomorrow is a tricky tie to say the least.
Instead of being able to rest a few starters, we’ll have our hands full in a match-up that’s been problematic for us of late, and with the added spice of a cup-tie I’ll be happy to take this one back to OT for the replay.

I hope Nick powell plays. I have been itching to see that boy play.

I would like to see Welbeck or Chicha playing upfront. With van Persie on the bench as cover.

Kagawa should play behind one of the strikers.

Nick Powell and Darren Fletcher in the middle. Carrick needs to rest for the Liverpool game next weekend.

I’m not sure Ferguson would start Powell and Cleverley together. Not enough experience between the two of them. Ferguson LOVES experience.

Thats why I would expect Ferguson to jump at the prospect of signing Lampard should Lamps be so inclined.

Evra will probably be rested which leaves us with Buttner who is still a bit raw in my opinion. But he should be adequate against the Hammers.

Rafael should play I think. To get him back up to speed in time for the Liverpool game.

Smalling could partner Evans or Ferdinand in the centre of defense.

Lindegaard will also probably be given a run out today I would expect.

Thats how I would set things up. I hope Ferguson does something similar.

  • Happy New year chaps.
Fergie is certainly right with his concerns and suspicions about the Fryers deal to Spurs. They have certainly manipulated the rules and this should be investigated.
The game today will be good, we haven’t been to a Cup Final for 10 years and getting to one would be great.
Mancini is making a fool of himself when it comes to Balotelli, he is treating him totally as an exception and you can understand why Tevez ect have lost respect for him. the posing Italian is what is wrong with Engliah football, over indulged, overrated and over here.
I love RvP more than Moscow

  • Team news has just come through guys!!

De Gea, Rafael, Vidic, Evans, Smalling, Buttner, Scholes, Cleverley, Kagawa, Welbeck, Chicha

Looks like Rafael is going to be playing at right wing today!

  • Kagawa is massively overrated .Really don’t know what he does.Playing with him is like having only 10 players on the pitch.

And why you have reserved team when you play Smalling at RB.He is the worst RB in whole Europe.

  • Congratulations Man Utd.You are the only team in last 5 years who made Joe Cole look good.
