Harry Kane ties Man Utd legend for Premier League goals

Harry Kane scored a brace in Tottenham Hotspur’s 4-0 hammering of Huddersfield Town at the Kirklees Stadium this afternoon.

The Terriers has only conceded three goals in their opening six Premier League games prior to going 0-3 down after only 23 minutes in today’s lunchtime kickoff.

Kane scored Spurs’ first and third goals today as they had the game wrapped up before half-time.

As a result, the England striker has now scored 84 goals in his Premier League career – as many as Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo.

What’s more, Kane has accomplished this feat in only 124 appearances, compared to Ronaldo’s 196.

Of course, the Real Madrid superstar broke into our first team as an 18-year-old and played out wide, supplying the likes of Ruud van Nistelrooy and Wayne Rooney.  Whereas Kane has been Tottenham’s sole striker for the past four seasons now with virtually no competition for places – flops Roberto Soldado and Vincent Janssen have been his backups.

Credit to Kane who is now seven Premier League goals behind Romelu Lukaku who himself is three goals behind former United striker Dimitar Berbatov and four behind Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Carlos Tevez also scored 84 goals during his Premier League career.
