Heinze Has Gotten On My Nerves

Gabriel HeinzeOkay, needless to say, *Insert RANT ALERT here*.

This site has been doggedly loyal to Heinze, several times sticking its neck out time and time again, that we might have ourselves gotten bored of our Heinze worship. We’ve even pulled Pool fans’ legs in the process. (Not that we will ever stop doing that, though)

But sometimes when you expect certain things to happen and they don’t, life gets a tad frustrating.

Tiresome - but necessary - rant follows.

I know, I know. People will start pointing out to any source (or the lack of it) that show no official quotes from the man himself. People will start pointing out to quotes from the gaffer implicating his agents for trying to engineer a move away from the club. Numerous articles and quotes from the media has been flying around for more than two weeks now.

But we have been hiding from the ‘he hasn’t said anything officially’ stance for far too long.

The latest set of stories that are the rage, all around the media, is the thing about Gaby’s lawyers (or rather, Liverpool’s lawyers) who have decided to sue United over a move to Liverpool.

Now clearly, if Heinze really wanted to stay at United, he’s had enough time after Copa America to dispel all doubts with a few official statements. Or at least he could have spoken something about it. Yes, he did say something to the effect of “things are perfect for me at United”, but that wasn’t very different from Henry saying “I’m an Arsenal player at the moment”, just days before he said goodbye and moved over to Spain. Gaby’s silence over this mess is really frustrating for both - fans and the United management, and even though Fergie seemed bullish about keeping Heinze, I doubt he means he intends to keep him any longer. All he probably wants now is just to make sure the Argentinian doesn’t move to the Dippers.

For a player who was much loved and respected by fans, despite having two injury ravaged seasons, after being voted as the player of the season in 05/06, moving to our most bitter rivals (apart from the other ‘massive’ club in Manchester) would burn bridges beyond repair. Yes, fellow ranters, I did write earlier on why Heinze’s move to Liverpool wouldn’t make much sense to the player, leave alone the club. From a player’s career point of view, our club hasn’t been at a better stage in recent times. We just won the league, made some exciting signings and (while it may be a controversial topic to touch on) our club is raking in healthy revenues. Liverpool have made some good signings, but not many will argue that the momentum is with us.

Which brings me to his silence on all the cuntish (if that’s even a word) things that his agent is up to. If Heinze had even an iota of concern for the fans and the manager that stood by him during his toughest moments, recuperating from injury, he owes it to them to come out, lay the facts bare, and speak his mind. Seriously, at the moment I am so tired of this petty lawyer bullshit that I would give him a rousing goodbye if he comes out and says that he wants to move (to, say, Real Madrid or Juventus).

At least it doesn’t keep us fans in the dark. Of course, saying that he wants to move to Liverpool wouldn’t count, as that would be the greatest form of betrayal.

Sir Alex might succeed after all to keep him from moving to Liverpool, but then, these developments have made one thing clear: that Heinze is no more a player committed enough for the club’s cause. And to keep him or not, will be a question the management will have to ask themselves again. Here’s hoping he gets shipped off to Spain or somewhere like that.

I know it may sound a little melodramatic but, at the end of the day, all we think we deserve from Heinze is a little respect for the club. Just a little bit. Some sense of understanding of being a part of the club that stood by him. That’s all we ask. Sadly, so far, there haven’t been too many indications of that.

as SAF has said there is nothing the matter between him and heinze but the way that his agents are acting that is the problem. i personally prefer evra to be our number 1 left back and feel that tho heinze was riddled with injury problems over the last 2 yrs he has served the club well and to sell him of to a foreighn team for a reasonable price (6-7m) we would have done a good bit of buisness wiv him. however if his agents are trying to seek legal action to push through a move 4 him 2 go liverpool with us refusing… isnt it a little similair to the carlos tevez affair i ask???

  2. Aus_Devil says:

Very good post… couldn’t agree more. I have been trying to give Heinze the benefit of the doubt, hoping that all the Liverpool talk was all agent talk but with every passing day it seems more and more certain that is his preferred destination. I had always thought of Heinze as an honest and loyal player (in as much as that means these days). If he moves to Juve, Real etc. then good luck to him, if he drags this through the courts then I’ll lose all respect for him.

P.S. On a side note, maybe his friendship with Tevez is going a step too far and he REALLY wants to spend some time in court with him.

  3. Red Ranter says:

    [Ollie Y]
How could this ever be similar to the Carlos Tevez affair? In Tevez’s case, all parties understand and agree on his move to United. WHU know Tevez belongs to a bigger club and they don’t want any of Kia and his shady minions. The only issue there is who owns him and who gets the money. There is nothing else.

Heinze’s case is more about principles, so to speak. United don’t want to sell him to Liverpool. There are no issues with the fee and I bet they won’t mind selling him off to anyone but their domestic rivals. And of course, there is the small matter of fans feeling cheated by whom they, until now thought, to be a loyal player.

  4. Mick says:

What amazes me is how long the fans have remained patient with Gabby. All Rio had to do was stall on signing a new deal and he was suddenly public enemy number one. The disdain Heinze has shown for fans of United over the course of this summer is despicable. I don’t care where he plays next season, he is dead to me. FWIW, I actually hope he ends up at the dippers, it will make it easier to hate him and one of our rivals will have signed an over-rated full-back whose best days are behind him.

  5. Red Ranter says:

Ah! Yes. I was thinking of the Rio situation too.

  6. simonthered says:

Mick - totally agree, let’s see how he deals with Ronaldo and Nani
next season, he won’t fancy that.
What does amaze me is that he wants to leave us because we can’t
guarantee him a starting place, but I don’t think the dippers
can guarantee that either with Risse being a decent player too.

  7. Ollie Y says:

    @Red Ranter
yh i suppose, what really pisses me off is that heinze knows how much respect the fans give him and he has time and again said how much he adores manchester united fc, so it is very selfish of him to even think about giving up his ‘perfect’ life in manchester for some permanent first team football, a player with an attitude like his doesnt even deserve to be at this club, i also read the article on evra in the telegraph(i think it was) and it was certainly very moving, his (evra) attitude towards football, man utd and life in general is very inspiring, and he is a better left back!

  8. dan says:

he’s a cunt bottom line, his heart was never at united if he could get up and move to are rivals and not care how united(staff, players, fans ECT.) feel. complete cunt.

  9. Nick says:

What annoys me is the fact he isn’t willing to stay and fight for his place. The Liverpool issue is almost irrelevant in comparison. I can’t see him being able to stay, not being willing to fight for his Manchester United place is far worse then signing for Liverpool in my eye’s.

  10. Clemenza says:

Good article… I agree but… He may have been told to keep his mouth closed from United maybe… I know it sounds strange, but who knows…

  11. Taehr says:

If heinze wants to go let him.we need committed players not some guy who is even considering moving to liverpool.let him go to liverpool. They still would be far behind us.heinze is way,way past his best and has lost about 5 yards of pace.plus hes what 29 years old?he is not the only left back in the world!

  12. Ryan says:

I think he knows he is now 2nd choice left back and instead of fighting for the position he has thrown his toys out the pram and asked for a move without putting in a transfer request. Let him go if he is gonna be like that. O’Shea, Pique and Silvestre(if he cant find any1 to take him!) can be back up to Evra. I think he wants to go to Liverpool to prove to Fergie he is wrong in making him 2nd choice and to show he can still cut it in the premier league and the highest level. Im gonna wait to hear it from Heinze himself but if he does want to go to Liverpool then he will have lost any respect he ever had from us united fans. To be fair we wont miss him as a player, but he will miss us as a football club.

  13. Dash says:

Heinze at this stage of his career would like to be a regular and it is for this reason that he is seeking to move out of OT. Now his silence can be explained very simply; if he were to come out and say “I want to go,” how would fans respond then? At least some people give him the benefit of doubt now. Worst, if he says “I want to go to XYZ,” other clubs could retreat living ManU and XYZ to slug it over a transfer fee - a scenario that might or might not be resolved. Again, how does he benefit? Or would the fans be more graceful?

As for the ‘pool situation he feels he feels he has better chance in rafa’s defensive minded team than in SAF’s team, where Evra will continue to be preferred for his greater attacking instincts.

When Heinze played he gave everything on the field but please don’t mistake professionalism for loyalty.

  14. nelson otieno says:

We gave Henize the best facilities in the world to train with. He has been tutored under the great coach that is SAF and his assistant Carlos. I mean it feels great to be associated with Manchester united. whether a fan or a cleaner. Now is this the fucking thanks we get.He should grow up.The guy is on my last nerve right now and I bet he’s not going to be given a chance and enjoy football as much as he did here at OT- theater of dreams.I do appreciate the contribution he made to us but Heinze leaving like that, its just too babyish. Heinze of all people should clearly now that we had injury problems last season and thats why guys got limited chances to play.He complains that he played few games as if every defender was fully fit all season.I think he’s just trying to accomplish what many players have done to do so- conquer Fergie.

PS: Is Rodrigo Possebom Still coming this season or what?

  15. Liam O'Kelly says:

    Dash
He wont even get into the ‘Pool team because Riise is ahead of him so it will probably be the same situation over there which is why the move makes no sense.

  16. Red Ranter says:

    [Dash]
Trust me. Had he said he wanted to move to XYZ club (where XYZ is not Liverpool) then he wouldn’t have been unpopular with fans. No way. Clubs like Madrid and Juve are not our domestic rivals. In general, Premiership (atleast the direct rivals - big four, if you will) clubs don’t sell good players to their rivals until there is some kind of a mutual benefit. Like Arsenal and Chelsea traded Cole and Gallas.

Plus, in Liverpool, Heinze will NOT get regular games. Benitez WILL rotate, and that means no regular playing time. And from the way Benitez’s is doing the talk around the place these days, his new look Liverpool side is expected to have more attacking verve. So that argument doesn’t hold good. Benitez wants players, but he will play them to his system, which means players will be picked based on the opposition. Hell, even Alonso is not guaranteed regular games.

  17. Red Ranter says:

And one more thing. It’s about player motives. Players switch clubs for one of three reasons. Money, New Challenge/Advancing Career or Surroundings.

    1. I don’t see Heinze moving to Liverpool because of lack of money.

    2. I don’t see anything newly challenging moving over to a club that’s not too far away from the current club (leave alone other country). The club’s in the same league and he could win the league/CL/FA Cup/Carling Cup with the same club as before, playing the same 19 teams.

    3. Yes Liverpool are mostly Spanish speaking, but I guess that is too ridiculous a reason. A move to Spain might have been more understandable.

So a move to Liverpool doesn’t even make sense. Leave alone loyalty. Nothing professionally motivating from my POV.

  18. Ryan says:

Red Ranter I think he seriously just wants to prove a point to Fergie and show he can still cut it and should still have been our first choice - may sound pathetic but maybe thats Heinze. Or maybe Liverpool are the only club in for him or willing to pay that sort of money?(apart from the usual sniffers like west ham, newcastle and portsmouth!)

I wonder just how desperate he is to leave OT.

  19. indianpunk says:

That said it all my friend
My fav player of 2005-06 season and even the mat busby player of that year acting like this hurts a lot i still feel he’s better then evra but i guess its just that van nistelroy leaving thing huanting back.U love the player u love the team and u choose the team and let the player go for the better of the future and the dressing room atmosphere.
Farewell from me coz u aint gonna be the same again if if we manage to hold u till jan but if u checking us out watch this ur gonna miss a lot of this and u aint getting the same thing anywhere else

i’d have loved to see u finishing at the top with united

ok for me it comes down to this with how i feel about heinze and his behaviour to the club. If i
had a gun and only had 1 bullet and obi mikel and heinze were standing infront of me it would now
be a toss up to which one of those players walk away…and i think mikel is the poorest human being
    alive

  21. WCH says:

    Goodbye Gabby, and good riddance.

We have no place for players who don’t want to play for United.

  25. united 4eva says:

gabby can go i throught he might go to real madrid because of r carlos leaving not loserpool its a bad move he’ll be on the bench because of the ginger smithy killer gabby im disapointed

  26. Steve from CA says:

I don’t really care if he leaves. The guy is clearly being an asshole and under the impression that the club wants him more than he wants United. That is not true, but what we do want is LOYALTY. Is it unreasonable for SAF to expect any less loyalty out of his players than the club gets out of its fans? I don’t think so.

But Heinze’s flaw is this: he doesn’t realize that we have a left back in Anderson, yet we want to keep him on and he would still have a chance at getting a first team spot. With all the competitions we are in, is he really stupid enough to think he won’t see any action? But he is being an asshole and SAF has sold players in the past for being just that. Just don’t sell him for the 7m Benitez offered because he is a first-choice LB anywhere else. We bought him for that much from PSG and we made him better. Sell him to Spain or Italy for more. Here’s to hoping the team he goes to either isn’t in the CL or gets knocked out early so that he realizes what he missed out on.

  27. indianpunk says:

i pray liverpool deal faals of this august and by the time at jan liverpool dont need him no more and we get no more offers for him from spain italy as they are at a bad place in CL and might get knocked out by eng and german clubs :)
And heinze got to sit here with his rotten egg attitude

  28. Conor says:

‘But Heinze’s flaw is this: he doesn’t realize that we have a left back in Anderson, yet we want to keep him on and he would still have a chance at getting a first team spot’ I’m fairly certain that Anderson will NEVER play at left back for us, I read the same thing about his favourite position being left back but something must have been translated wrong because he barely ever tracks back or makes a tackle. He could have just said ‘he admires the way Roberto Carlos goes forward even though he’s a left back’

  29. englishandproud says:

All rather sweet to watch what Heinze has been up to.

For all Utd’s faults, particularly their fans’ misplaced arrogance in the face of overwhelming trophy evidence to the contrary at Anfield (I have a ST at The Emirates btw), I think the thing that grates the most is the Republic of Mancunia shite.

An English club’s fans in the heart of England banging on about “Argentina, Argentina” was perhaps the most despicable piece of bollocks you’ve come up with. And you wonder why other fans feel inclined to let you, and your history of tragedy, have it? You’re either short of one or two GCSE’s or just blinkered.

I hate the FA and International Football as much as you, but that lot (ie Argentina) are very low down on the scale. If it was designed to bolster Heinze and bug the English, mission accoplished fellas. It either confirms your ’spread’ of support or the fact that you are shitbags. Take your pick.

I’m sure it was justified in the most tenuous manner but, hey, who cares now??! He has shat on you from the most enormous height!!!!

Still, you’ve got the fat bog man arriving soon and we’ll be back to normal.

  30. Red Ranter says:

    [englishandproud]
I don’t even know why I am replying to this but here:
For arguments sake, I wonder how the ‘proponents’ of beautiful football would rate the Argies below England. Country loyalties aside.

In fact the Argies at the moment are quite similar to your beloved Arsenal. (Of course, they don’t ‘fanny too much at the edge of the box’ - to borrow a quote from Arseblog.)

Anyway as regards Heinze, when a much loved player, who came from your youth ranks (and who claimed to have so much love and respect for Arsenal), can shit on your club when Russian rubles comes calling - yes I am talking about Cuntley Cole - it isn’t too surprising to see Heinze ’shit on our club’ as you call. Come on! I’d expect some empathy from you lot. :)

  31. englishandproud says:

As I said, I could not give a damn about International football, The FA, Engalanda (to borrow a phrase from the Japanese branch of weird England fans) and certainly am not interested in Argentina’s lack of sharpness in the box.I just don’t like the chant, OK? It’s the sort of thing you would get in Dublin in 1982, during the height of the ‘troubles’. This country has enough detractors without the ‘English’ fans of one of England’s foremost clubs being spectacularly useless. Would you have chanted it in 1982? (…and, yes, a lot of my family have been in the forces before you wonder it)

    Re: Cole

If he had gone to Spurs, you may have a comparative example. Cole to Chelsea is like Heinze to AFC, painful, but you can probably live it. Clichy’s better than them both anyway.

  32. Red Ranter says:

    [englishandproud]
You don’t like the chant fair enough. But you are saying it here, expect us to disagree. End of.

Re: Cole/Heinze… It IS comparable. I would be similarly gutted if he were to move to any of our major rivals (i.e., Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea… maybe even Spurs.) The fact that he plans to move to Liverpool makes it all the more annoying. David Gill said they wouldn’t be selling to any club on the domestic front. So we’ll see how that goes.

(Although, while I could understand why Pool fans might visit, it’s nice to see Arsenal ST holders visiting here.) :)

  33. indianpunk says:

Nice to see more attendance here but lets fuck this sad saga some good news
Tevez agent hints at end to saga
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/6912571.stm

  34. MoYa says:

I think losing Gabby wouldn’t be a train smash, especially if we could sign Baines or Chiellini from Juventus. They are both excellent prospects and Chiellini is very much alike to Gabby.

  35. Pickford says:

    Just some vague points

    - the Argentina chant started in support of Becks when all the Engerland tossers were blaming him for losing the World Cup, the fact we picked up a couple of Argentinians since is largely incidental, and probably a mistake given the train of agents, relatives, lawyers and other baggage they seem to bring with them - so I am starting to think Tevez may also be a mistake

    - for all I know, Gabby may be settled in the North-West and not fancy Spain at all : since it’s going to be hard to have him hanging around at the club after all this, perhaps we can do a loan deal with Blackburn (or Stockport)

    - he’s not been playing well since coming back from injury (his heading has certainly gone completely), so clearly we weren’t going to give him a new contract at this stage, which we would usually do when there are only two years to run - I assume Liverpool are offering him at least four years, and theirs might be the only offer on the table - what claim have we really got on his “loyalty” in these circumstances?

    - my only concern if he goes down the road is that Phil Chisnall will no longer be the answer is the quiz question

  36. Nino says:

Let heinze go to whoever he wants to join(£7m for him is an excellent buy) and blood a new left back from our youth team (we hardly seem to promote youth players anymore). I don’t care if he moves to Liverpool; these transfers between rivals are quite common in spain and italy - figo from barca to real anyone? the big four in italy sell players to each other on a regular basis; off the top of my head i can think of chivu from roma to inter recently, also cannavaro going from inter to juve, with vieira and ibrahimovic going the other way, the milan clubs have sold players to each other in the past etc, so what’s the big deal???? Pool will be getting a left back who is 1) past his best who 2) won’t even be getting regular games and 3) will be absolutely hated by those fans who once adored him. His career will go on a nosedive; hopefully he’ll realise this and see sense.

  37. united4eva says:

i dont mind him goin if we get riise in return cant see it realy ha ha or maybe sign a good young english left back like baines and let sir al work his magic on him because evra is good until we find better

  38. Bloodbath says:

I say just let the idiot go!I couldn’t care less about which club he went to coz he already lost alot of respect from me.If he thinks he’s going to get a better chance at our rivals,I’d like a bit of whatevr he’s smokin. Its like he spat on us with pride.

  39. Nino says:

yeah leighton baines would have been a good replacement for heinze. young, strong and with a sledgehammer left foot and deadly set-piece expertise, although bale would have been a good purchase too.

  40. Ollie Y says:

Nino, i applaud u, the first time i have the name ‘Bale’ mentioned! If we would have got him instead of tottenham it would have been a great young, welsh, an internation, great at set pieces, we could have moulded him into a midfielder and he would have been the next giggs for sure. I hope he has a shit season and makes me eat my words, but i really hoped we got him, for what i have heard is they (tottenham) got him for only 5mil a bargain! however leighton baines wont be a too bad back up for evra and could be a good player in a few years under the guidence of SAF. Im bored of this hienze shit now hes goin, good riddance if you dont want to be playing for the biggest club in the world there is ultimately some thing very wrong with you!

  41. karl says:

Just here for a quick pop-in…

I always liked Heinze. Always figured he’s our no.1 left back - still do.
I did not mind him going to any club, as long as its not Liverpool.
Now, I don’t give a fuck about him anymore. In fact, as simonthered says, perhaps it is Better if we sell him to Liverpool?!?
I’m also pissed off with his silcence. The reaon why he is silent is, I believe:
His first prize would be a salary increase. Second, a move to Liverpool (this will place him in the history books). He know that if he come out publicly, and the move falls through, he will become public enemy no.1. at OT. That’s when he will come out and say that it was all a mis-understanding, etc… Should the deal in fact go through, he will publicly admit how he apparently “always” wanted to be a Liverpool player. He’s trying to get his bread buttered on both sides, because of the uncertainty of how it will flip.
In the meantime, he plays on our emotions…Fuck him!

  42. karl says:

    Just a though…
What do you guys think of a swap of Heinze for Mascherano?

  43. indianpunk says:

totally agree with u karl he wants both the sides/ends of the pie and still play safe

  44. indianpunk says:

another round of legal troubles is what i think about the swap bro but maybe just maybe tevez macherano pair might help but we dont need no more defenders we need our youth now its high time we bring new blood from the youth ranks

    Just a though…
What do you guys think of a swap of Heinze for Mascherano?

Karl - Maybe season before last, or even last season maybe. But definately not now, with the signing of Hargreaves. If not for the dodgy connections the 2 players - Mascherano & Tevez, were tied with, SAF would probably jumped at the chance to bag those 2 players.

  46. Grognard says:

Oh for Christ’s sake grow up. Wake up and smell the coffee. This is the selfish era of professional sports and loyalty is on short supply by both club and player. Stop blaming the agent. In my experience here in North America, no agent ever moved against the wishes of his client. He would get the sack for that. Heinze feels betrayed by Ferguson for allowing Evra to steal his spot in the starting eleven, plain and simple. How would you feel if you were one of the elite left backs in the game and one who starred for one of the top three national sides in the world, yet you can’t beat out a short little frenchy for the same position on your club side? His ego is bruised and his reason for showing interest for Liverpool is strictly revenge oriented. Loyalty, a nice word but usually overused and tainted with the smell of rubbish. Where was the loyalty when SAF sold Becks and Ruud to Real Madrid after their great service? He basically showed the door to Keano too. But that’s ok I suppose. When an athlete on the other hand takes matters into is own hand, that is considered betrayal. It has taken SAF four years to repair the reputation and the atmosphere surrounding Man Yoo throughout the world. That is why it has been difficult to acquire the World class talent like Torres, Ronaldinho, Riquelme, Ballack etc. Ronaldo and his desire to stay has changed that atmosphere andwe must bow to him for that. These star players chose other clubs because they felt that eventually SAF would cast them out once he felt they had reached their peak. I love Man Yoo but I also respect the efforts of the players as much as that of the manager and club officials. Heinze is twice the player Evra is and he was unfairly stripped of his starting position due to injury. In American sports, it is an unwritten law, no player loses his starting position due to an injury. There have been exceptions of course, but a team loses respect for it’s coaches when this happens. Heinze is wrong to want to slap United fans in the face by demanding a Liverpool move, but Ferguson is twice as wrong to have betrayed the player and to have chosen the inferior Evra to man his spot. Giggsy, Scholesy and Gary Neville beware. The Grim Reaper is just around the corner.

  47. Red Ranter says:

    [Grognard]
There are plenty of flaws in your argument to point out here.
That SAF preferred Evra over Heinze is a matter of judgement for him as a manager, and he was vindicated as Evra made it to the Premier League Select XI as the best left back of the season. So I don’t know what standards you use to establish that Evra is inferior to Heinze. Both players offer different options to the side. Evra has age and attacking verve on his side, while Heinze has good defensive awareness (but is clearly ageing.)

About loyalty regarding Becks and Ruud, you have used a wrong example. Let me make it clear here: loyalties talked about over here are that to the CLUB. No player is bigger than the club itself. When SAF thought, Becks and Ruud were not good for the team (in terms of team influence, not ability) he had to make a choice. Also so, in the case of Ruud, that the team actually player better without him - they won the carling cup that season and we also won the league title this time. The manager chooses the player on his judgement. Becks was made a star under the tutelage of SAF, he doesn’t owe SAF anymore. Yes, we were saddened by their loss, but our side has become stronger.

My point is, Heinze’s move makes no real sense apart from it being some sort of a ‘revenge mission’. So as passionate fans would we be wrong to hate it when he moves to our rivals? In American professional sports (not college sports) there isn’t that much passion. I know clubs even shut shop and move to a different city. So it will be hard for a person brought up in an American sport environment to fully comprehend the passions that run here in England. I am not blaming you for it. But that’s how it is.

Speaking of passion, if you love Manchester United you wouldn’t want to call it ‘Man Yoo’ :)
(That’s blasphemy and it’s got its own story, which we can have for another day.)

  48. Ollie Y says:

Speaking of passion, if you love Manchester United you wouldn’t want to call it ‘Man Yoo’
That’s blasphemy and it’s got its own story, which we can have for another day

I WANNA KNOW THE STORY RED RANTER

  50. JK says:

Hey, RedRanter I ‘m curious too:)

Well I don’t like the sound of “Man Yoo” so I rarely use it.

    BAD… for United
    - Not Selling Heinze to Liverpool for that much Money…

    BAD… for United
    - For not having Heinze as Left Back for Liverpool when United visits Anfield this season. Even dear old Kieran Richardson can run him ragged. Now we have to face a better left back in the form of Riise. Shit!! Big mistake Ferg.

    Good…for Liverpool
    - For not having to waste any money on an inferior left back. Got the aggressiveness but nothing else. I think even Becks can convincingly out pace this guy. I really do. Only reason why he’s wanted at the Spanish colony is because he speaks the lingo.

    Rafe:
    Hablar espanol Gabby??

    Heinze:
    See, grassy-ass!
