While I work on getting a new post ironed out consider this a stub and a post to prevent the previous one from crashing (due to saturation with comments). Reply to comments from previous posts here, so that you don’t spend too much time waiting for the page to load.

Meanwhile here are some good reads you must consider:

1. Scott on RoM talks about Carlos Tevez’s dreadful miscalculation — fun fact, he made 51 appearances this season, despite his whingeing.

2. United Rant wonders why United still struggle to produce a striker from the youth ranks, following Campbell’s sale after he failed to make the grade.

3. The ever excellent Pitch Invasion site reviews Grant Wahl’s new book on David Beckham, ‘The Beckham Experiment

4. Liverpool’s most famous lady-man, Fernando Torres narrates a ghost story, exclusively for the award winning Run of Play blog.

5. Some Brazilian based writers wonder if United are being conned over Douglas Costa (it will be touched upon in a forthcoming post as well)

6. The Guardian’s Paul Wilson questions Man City’s status among English football’s elite.

Betfair is offering a free £25 bet on United.

    @Madschester United:
    What I meant by historical evidence, is how well or poorly a player has performed in the past. To me, it’s the way to gauge his value. What may happen in the future is for all you prophets out there to speculate on!! :lol: :lol:

    I am reading reports that if true will truly put me over the edge. It seems that Liverpool look certain to loose Xavi Alonso and who is Rafa planning to replace him with? HERNANES. If this happens, Fergie is officially dead to me. :mad: :roll: :roll:

    An interesting point on transfers… there hasn’t been one story about us and *insert overpriced target* since Fergie said we were done for the window. Nothing about preparing a bid or monitoring a situation. This means two things.

    One : Everything we’ve read outside of Benzema, Owen, Velencia or Obertan has been complete fabricated bollocks.

    Two : Anything that turns up from now on probably has a grain of truth in it.

    @Grognard: Nice degrees/diplomas/jobs… I am currently carrying BS in Electrical Engineering with math as a dual major, almost done with my MS in Elec. Engineering and have begun my PhD. Have a coaching license in Badminton and watch way too much soccer. (Oh yeah, I am married as well to a wonderful woman :smile: )

    I have not watched Aguero play much besides in the Atl. Madrid – Liverpool game (last year?) but have a good friend from Argentina who claims he is overrated.

    I claimed that Aguero will not necessarily be a hit in the EPL and would not be worth the gamble of 45+ million – I never meant to say that he was crap because he did not play in the EPL. Kaka is klass, Torres is good (still a woman though), but my favorite continental player is probably Messi due to his down-to-earth nature and ball-clinging feet.

    BTW: we should use clan names ([OPTI] vs. [DOOM]) before our Names… (see my name)

    @Grognard: why angry? Hernanes is who??? ** searching wikipedia ** Oooh. He seems swell. If he costs less than 15 million, it might be worth the gamble. What prices are listed for him?

    @[OPTI]Madschester United: First off, Torres is by far the best female footballer ever, with all due respect to Mia Hamm. And even more impressive, Ms. Torres plays against men. As for your friend who thinks Aguero is overrated, check his club allegiance in Argentina. I’ll bet you he supports the team that is a bitter rival of Aguero’s old team. Just a hunch.

    Very impressive degrees mate. Always have respect for engineers as they are smart but they are always good party animals too. I had a lot of great times during my university days partying with Engineering students. Crazy lads they are but great fun. And they can handle their liquor too. :grin: :grin: Also, good luck with your PHD. At least we both know now that there is plenty to admire and respect from each other when it comes to education and accomplishments. You certainly have my respect. :smile:

    @[OPTI]Madschester United: Hernanes is a player I have been following for a while now. What is great about him is he is an outstanding box to box central midfielder. A wicked left footed shot, plenty of finesse and passing ability and the ability to mark and play the DMF role to perfection. If Rafa is indeed going after him it would make total sense as he is an upgrade to Alonso and similar in the fact that he is a two way player. I really wanted us to sign this player because he just seems like the perfect fit for us and a player that I think would link up well with the other Brazilian kids on our team and especially Anderson. Also, Hernanes first name is Anderson so we could have had two Anderson’s in the middle. He is only 24 and is very good. Just watch, Fergie will try to go after him when he is impossible to get.

    @Anthony Los: I am pissed because this is a player I rate very highly and a player that I think suits us perfectly. The fact we have not tracked him is pointless. I love a lot a players I think we should have that Fergie isn’t even cognizant of.

    @[OPTI]Madschester United: I’m not sure what post he is referring to but I suspect that it has to do with some of the comments made towards all of us who are of the DOOM side. Anyway, Redrich is a great guy and he may have misunderstood you a bit. Problem with a debate where two sides are really opposite, is the blog is difficult to convey once true feelings and emphasis about something and quite often we take something badly or not in the way it was intended. I know I am guilty of this both in sending and receiving. Just know that a clear explanation or peace offering to Redrich id all that’s needed. Nobody id guilty here, just a misunderstanding. Then again, if everyone would just accept the DOOM side’s way of thinking, we’d all get along famously. :wink: :lol: :lol:

    Rooney, Berbatov and owen – All three will be in the starting eleven.. The formation for next season looks like its gonna be 4-1-2-1-2
    With owen and rooney up front with berba playing behind them, also rooney and berba can swap places.. One left and one right winger.. Defensive midfield either hargo or carrick(sad..).. Anderson as a sub for berba.. :shock: Tactical analysis only gets you so far, but next season should be fun cause of the attacking dynamics!.. :smile:

I have a lot of packing to do and I’ll be moving soon so I have more important things to worry about than United’s lack of ambition. Hang on, there is nothing more important than United. As the King once said;

    “United is life. The rest are mere details.”

    last two seasons Ronaldo didn’t play as a winger he played as a second striker supporting from the flanks thats why he was always near the opposition box and why he didn’t track back, we had one winger throughout the whole season in our starting eleven and that is JS Park and because he is more of defensive than attacking we were cautious and boring, the only player who could have solved the problem is NANI, but he lost the ball frequently whenever he played or tried to shoot. i hope next season he’ll get better, even though he will start he’ll have to fight for a starting position. Owen will play more than we expect him to, however he will be treated cautiously, (one game a week just like giggs and scholes) and Rooney position will depend on Owen starting..

    ——GK
    RB CB CB LB
    —DMF DMF
    W (valencia)
    —-SS SS (berba and rooney) / (berba and nani)
    ——FW (owen) / (rooney)

    these are my expectations,, what do think guys?

    To Hernanes – i dont think we are going to bring him to OT. Im not a specialist in UK laws but i think he isnt able to get a work permit. The same problem with Douglas Costa. Becouse of the work permit restrictions we cant bring the South American talent to OT.
