That doesn't mean he didn't play well though. On the contrary. It just seemed his role along with Carrick was to control the tempo and play outlet passes and leave the really creative stuff to them. If he played poorly he would have received a 5 and if I thought he was very ordinary or just average he would have received a 6. I get down on Scholes when he doesn't want to move forward and when he prefers to back pass when the pressure is only average. Scholes has really come on in the last three weeks. He is rounding in to shape and getting his legs back and it has shown. Yes I was very down on him a month ago but I am fair and above all, I am happy to have been proven wrong by the old Ginger Ninja. He looks far from being finished. Thank goodness for that.
