Manchester United travel to Newcastle United on Sunday looking to extend or at least maintain our five-point lead over Liverpool who are down in third.
The trip to St James’ Park is set to be Alexis Sanchez’s third Premier League appearance following Saturday’s 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town.
During that win over the newly-promoted Yorkshire side, Marcus Rashford struggled to get through the final 20 minutes of the game at Old Trafford after coming on for Juan Mata.
The 20-year-old felt pain in his leg during his cameo appearance and sources at ESPN are reporting that Rashford is an injury scare and will be closely monitored by our medical staff for the rest of the week.
It is hoped the young forward will be able to play because you can be sure that Jose Mourinho will want to feature Rashford if 100% fit. The youth academy product has featured in all of our games in all competitions this season, scoring 12 goals and providing five assists.
Should Marcus Rashford not be fully fit to face Newcastle then the boss still has Alexis Sanchez, Anthony Martial and Juan Mata as options down the wing in either a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 formation versus Rafa Benitez’s side.
