redranter:  Hi lads… hopefully this live blogging thing works…

11:31
[Comment From cafm]
blue here…may the best team win 🙂
11:31
[Comment From Patrick]
First
11:33
redranter:  alright there are still some sticky issues… bear with me while i get this sorted.. meanwhile United’s line up — you may already know — is this: Neville, Ferdinand, Vidic, O’Shea, Ronaldo, Carrick, Fletcher, Park, Berbatov, Tevez
11:33
[Comment From Per]
Why is the pitch looking so bad?
11:33
[Comment From jim]
fucking setanta
11:36
redranter:  2:40 Carrick after doing a brief passinng move with Tevez gets fouled outside the box

11:37
redranter:  hits the wall.. as Everton break
11:38
redranter:  cross by baines.. but vidic heads it away.. Everton are showing more offensive desire so far than Rafa Benitez would have you believe.
11:38
[Comment From Patrick]
What, exactly, is wrong with Vidic’s left hand?
11:39
redranter:  Patrick: Perhaps his using of long sleeved shirts may not be just a matter of choice after all 🙂
11:39
Patrick:  I know he would never CHOOSE to sabotage the team like this.
11:40
redranter:  Parks ball in misses everyone — no one near goal to do anything
11:41
redranter:  Infact Park’s ball in was not quite a cross and more of a shot on goal. Good save by Howard in the end.
11:42
[Comment From cafm]
hey am from india…any video links?
11:42
redranter:  cafm:Try livefooty.doctor-serv.com.. I suppose that usually works.
11:42
Patrick:  Berbatov’s intellect was never more apparent than when he stole a pass headed for Fletcher.
11:44
redranter:  The thing about live blogging is this: it’s fun but there is a chance that you could miss the fun while typing… of course i can hopefully type while looking at the screen
11:45
redranter:  11:00 Ronaldo and Tevez look to break but Hibbert dispossess Ronaldo… Tevez wins it back by kicking into touch.
11:46
redranter:  Carrick picks out Ronaldo a lovely pass. Ronaldo crosses and Tevez contrives to miss it out a combination of good save and hard luck
11:46
redranter:  nothing comes out of the ensuing corner
11:48
Patrick:  Vidic is, unquestionably, my footballing idol.
11:48
redranter:  Everton throw as Fellaini and Vidic clash over an aerial ball… man of rock that’s Vidic’s head smiles it off
11:49
redranter:  Patrick: You don’t have a man crush on him, do you?
11:49
Patrick:  bromance
11:49
Patrick:  haha
11:50
Patrick:  I don’t ever recall a time in which a commentator saying, “He’s taking them all on” has been followed by anything positive.
11:50
redranter:  16:15 Reds break again, Tevez makes a min-mazy run — blocked and then goes to Neville.. nothing comes of it as the ensuing cross is safely collected by Howard
11:50
Patrick:  Except for Giggsy.
11:52
redranter:  Ronaldo flagged offside.. I’d say fair decision — more touch and go though.
11:52
[Comment From edwin]
ONside!
11:53
Bosingwas Unibrow:  I WILL HAVE REVENGE!
11:53
[Comment From cafm]
thanks redranter
11:54
redranter:  Thought: Carrick moving more forward has helped his game immeasurably, but he can appear ungainly at times with the ball at his feet
11:54
Patrick:  That’s just his iffy mustache.
11:54
redranter:  Free kick from near the corner flag, after a mini-wobble EVDS claims it.
11:55
redranter:  Some possession tippy tappying going on.. as Everton kick it out.
11:56
Patrick:  Neville has never committed a foul in his career.
11:56
redranter:  Fergie is raging mad as Neville fouls an Everton player — forgot his name.
11:57
redranter:  Carrick picks Park.. Park to Tevez… Tevez bursts forward, crosses, Berbatov misses — defender clears.
11:58
[Comment From edwin]
NOT a freekick. Some poor referreing today! Tell ’em Sir Alex
11:58
Patrick:  The absolute height of misfortune, that.
11:58
Patrick:  Edwin: How’s the Kool-Aid today?
11:59
redranter:  25′ Unfuckinglucky from Ronaldo as he shoots a ball that agonizingly hits the post and doesn’t go in.
12:00
redranter:  27″ Another Ronaldo shot parried away by Howard. Corner…
12:02
redranter:  I am currently live blogging this by relying on a dodgy stream.. but I think I am currently in a position to afford digital cable.. so I think the next live blog will rely on a more — well, reliable — TV stream
12:03
redranter:  28″ Tevez, Park type players are terrier dogs — this time, Park, with some desperate hustling with Hibbert earns another United corner — nothing comes of it though.
12:03
[Comment From edwin]
hahaha! Thanks Patrick, I needed a lift.
12:04
Patrick:  Berbatov just ran 20 meters. The paramedics are on standby.
12:05
redranter:  The channel reminds us, just in case we didn’t know, that United are playing in Red and Everton in blue… Jeesus! I’ve been talking about the wrong team all along!
12:06
redranter:  Pienaar nutmegs two players — one United, one Everton — and the ball rolls along nicely to EVDS.
12:07
redranter:  Ronaldo lifts to ball to Carrick who controls on his chest and hits a shot on the turn (and on the volley)… but still, no goal.
12:07
[Comment From Bildani]
loving your one-liners, patrick
12:08
Patrick:  Thanks, mate. Don’t forget to tip your bartender.
12:08
redranter:  Leighton Baines does well to beat Park and cross it –straight to EVDS’s hands.. on the other end Tevez makes a move forward pass to O’Shea in the business area but again, nothing comes of it
12:10
Patrick:  Can englishmen grow beards that AREN’T ugly?
12:10
redranter:  Rio, Vidic and EVDS are hunting for real estate to settle down in their box.. it’s a really nice holiday resort for them… nice place to wear some shades and in Rio’s case some bling.. and relax with a masseuse in tow.
12:11
redranter:  I hope the above remark doesn’t jinx the Best Defense in the World (TM)
12:11
Patrick:  Redranter: If anything happens, just blame it on the sleeves, mate.
12:13
redranter:  United can at times reach the sublime — Berbatov’s brilliant dummy — and the ridiculous — O’Shea’s schizophrenic ball to an imaginary player in the right touch line
12:14
Patrick:  Everton make being impotent look quite menacing at times.
12:14
redranter:  Everton, it must be said, are getting a lot of balls in from the left wing, but are not finding anyone upfront to make anything out of it. I think Neville on that evidence is having a poor game thus far.
12:15
[Comment From Bildani]
carrick’s been quite good. o’shea might get a stitch, this is the most i’ve seen him run.
12:15
redranter:  Park wins a free kick on the edge of the are on the right
12:15
redranter:  Ronaldo sends a ball in but desperate heading from Everton ensure it’s safe — for them
12:16
Patrick:  Arteta is class.
12:16
redranter:

12:16
redranter:  Penalty
12:17
redranter:  Carrick’s ungainly running into the box is caught by a defender and he falls
12:17
redranter:  GOAL 1-0 United
12:17
Patrick:  Ungainly. Lovely selection.
12:17
redranter:  Howard dives to his right Ronaldo goes straight
12:19
redranter:  I was just talking about Carrick’s ungainly running earlier – readers who just joined can scroll up to see that. Not that it means anything, just found it to be a funny coincidence.
12:20
Patrick:  I think SAF reads this blog. Carricks involvment in the final third has added the needed extra dimension to our attack.
12:20
redranter:  United charge forward, Ronaldo to Tevez to Carrick and the former Spurs man, shoots a decent effort that — it must be said — is fairly easy for Howard.
12:21
redranter:  HALF TIME: United 1-0 Everton. Everton has given a good account of themselves and this has been an open half. The manner in which the Blues conceded a goal might seem hard on them, but United have created enough chances to warrant a goal ahead. Join me in 15 minutes for the second half
12:22
[Comment From JB]
Blinding performance by Carrick so far. Kudos to Tevez and Ronaldo as well.
12:22
[Comment From Orez]
Really good idea I think and a very bad penalty from Ronaldo, then again any penalty that goes in should be considered a good one 😀
12:23
redranter:  The FSC team kick in as they promise us they’ll return with Volkswagon half time report.
12:23
redranter:  I do see why American accented soccer reportage won’t work. Just like British accented NBA wouldn’t work
12:24
[Comment From Shami]
I think Carrick has been sublime this season.
12:24
Patrick:  I think British accented anything works.
12:25
redranter:  Keep your comments coming.. most of your comments will need approval from me.. but that’s alright. I can handle it.
12:25
[Comment From romo]
thats a solid start from man united, playing very well, could have a much larger lead was it not for a combination of howard’s saves defying the laws of physics and evertons audacious courting of lady luck. roll on the second half. united are finally showing the consistency that they were missing in the first half of the season. questions must be raised of the other so-called title challengers that they can be dominated by a united side that have spent half the season playing at half pace. so like i said roll on the second half, of this match, and of the season as a whole
12:25
Patrick:  I prefer my criticism with a British accent.
12:26
redranter:  My half time report — not sponsored by any German cars, although I’d be grateful for any pocket change that German car companies may be willing to shell out in these economically trying times — is this:

12:26
[Comment From Bildani]
i concur
12:26
[Comment From Orez]
Good point romo, but we should not underestimate anyone. We need to kill Everton with a second goal and enjoy the game tomorrow.
12:27
[Comment From Dan]
this is quite good RR, quite good indeed!
12:27
[Comment From Matthew]
God, i hate it when i see flethce in the 1st team selection, once again he has done nothing, i know some of u are flether lovers on here but i just aint seen nothing from him
12:28
redranter:  Carrick has been consistently outstanding. Easily among the best passers in the Premier League atm. Tevez has been Tasmanian devilish, Park’s been alsation ferocious and Berbatov’s been the invisible man
12:28
[Comment From Bildani]
fletcher’s presence in midfield is allowing carrick to go forward
12:28
[Comment From Matthew]
fletcher i mean sorry
12:28
[Comment From Dan]
i agree mathew
12:28
[Comment From Dan]
why do messages take so long to send?
12:28
[Comment From romo]
too true orez but it has to be said everton have not offered much going forward thus far, any side that does that against united tends to get a score racked up against them, i kno they are playing without their recognised first choice strikers but thats going to happen when you buy louis ‘i make crystal look durable’ saha
12:29
redranter:  Dan: because I need to approve them.. it will take a while for me to get a hang of this system.

12:30
redranter:  I think I can allow upto ten commenters to by pass approval… but let’s see how this goes.
12:30
[Comment From si]
Fletcher is shit, he makes more key-passes for the opposition. This season however he`s been stricktly avarage
12:30
[Comment From Dan]
ok cool, you’ll have more control doing it like this, less arguments… i mean debates…
12:30
[Comment From Matthew]
dan, thank god some1 agrees with me
12:30
[Comment From Orez]
Mathew I think he has done well for us, also I don’t think we have anyone better, considering form and injuries, to put in his place. Giggs can’t play everyday and I prefer Fletch for Scholes, because it let’s Carrick to go ahead
12:31
[Comment From Guest]
Carrick is a real presence out there. Unlucky to not have a goal.
12:31
[Comment From Bildani]
this FSC dude is annoying!
12:31
[Comment From JB]
Really enjoyable game so far to boot, its being played at a really high pace.
12:32
[Comment From Matthew]
orez, what about scholes? fletcher offers about as much as gibson does
12:32
[Comment From Dan]
fletcher was good last season, but i would rather give gibson a run out over fletcher…
12:32
[Comment From Gurpreet]
Carrick’s playing real well
12:32
[Comment From Grognard]
Berbatov needs to get a little more involved and in better position to receive balls in the box.
12:32
[Comment From Scorp]
I don think we have other options but to start Fletch, do we? He is the best option we have to start along with Carrick considering the amount of running fellaini and cahill. Though I think even with a fully fit squad , fletch would have to be the best option barring OH
12:32
Patrick:  Someone is always going to be the worst player in the side, and if that’s Fletcher I think that speaks well for United.
12:32
[Comment From Matthew]
si, i agree completely
12:33
redranter:  I think this liveblogging platform is good but I think I will have to limit the debate branching off in between my live blog — and let commenters post their opinions in the comments section below the main post. I can of course hope that commenters will be more pre occupied in watching the game than caring to post here… not everyone’s as sad as me 🙂 Oh well this is experimental.. let’s see how it goes.
12:33
[Comment From Grognard]
Carrick is really stepping up for the challenge the last few weeks. As soon as Rooney went down, he stepped up and has started to contribute more offensively by coming forward more often.
12:33
[Comment From si]
cheers matthew, and agreed patrick!!
12:33
[Comment From Dan]
hey patrick, how come you are in capitals? are you a mod or something?
12:33
[Comment From Orez]
romo I know what you mean, but as their past game showed, Everton needs just one chance from a set piece, preferably at the end of the game to get something out of it, that’s why i say we need the second
12:33
[Comment From Orez]
Mathew Scholes is really bad at defending and that’s why Carrick has to stand behind, but with Fletch he has more freedom.
12:33
[Comment From Matthew]
hopefully we can kill of the game quickly in the 2nd half, would like to see fabio come on later
12:34
[Comment From Matthew]
orez, flethcer doesnt really offer much defensively when i have seen him mate
12:34
Patrick:  Dan: insights like this can’t await moderation.
12:35
redranter:  Dan I can approve a limited number of commenters.. don’t know how many actually as I work my way through this.
12:35
[Comment From si]
any tips for a mac user too see this game online?
12:35
[Comment From romo]
fletcher is of the sort that separates united from our challengers, he emcompasses all that SAF wants his side to be, energetic commited and dare I say skillful, some might disagree but you cannot discount fletchers skill he would start in most teams each week, i will give you he is not as good as carrick or scholes but he is a damn side better than gibson
12:35
[Comment From ebrahim]
we must be care in rb position.everton are giving gary problem in the right side.
12:35
[Comment From Bildani]
ha ha, killer
12:35
[Comment From Dan]
ok i see.
12:35
[Comment From Gurpreet]
Agree Grognard. Carrick’s play has been critical to the recent rhythm in our play. He is really beginning to emerge out of Scholesy’s shadow in central MF
12:35
[Comment From romo]
i agree orez im hopin evds extends his pl record and we run out a nice 3-0, send a message to the scousers
12:35
[Comment From YDR]
Pretty good first half, Carrick, Ronaldo and Tevez stood out for me. we’re going to have to close down that right hand side though, sooner or later they’ll send in a decent cross towards Cahill and Fellaini, would hate to see our defensive run end against a team missing all of their strikers
12:36
[Comment From Grognard]
Neville was a joke in the first half. Sure it’s probably due to an injury he’s carrying but he has been shite. Pienaar especially is having his way with him. I say bring in Brown to start the second half.
12:36
Patrick:  I like this liveblogging thing aside from all the other commenters who dilute the wisdom of my words.
12:36
[Comment From Matthew]
see u later guys gonna go watch the game now, its got good streams on iraqgoals if any1 wants a link
12:36
[Comment From Orez]
abrahim I agree. I also can’t wait for Evra. with the amount of space we have on the left, he would have been so helpful.
12:37
[Comment From Dan]
C’MON YOU REDS!
12:38
[Comment From romo]
i wud LOVE to see a bitta wes brown back, he was unbelievable last season i just hope he hasnt lost any of his skillage what with being injured for so long and even being forgotten by SAF at the start of the season, also im in favour of neville being but in to enforced retirement despite his purple patch of late. wes brown backed by rafael is perfect
12:38
[Comment From si]
fantastic matthew
12:38
[Comment From Scorp]
RedNev got skinned a couple of times, Baines got way too many opportunities to cross. Brown would also help us aerially
12:38
[Comment From Orez]
well guys the 2nd half is starting. Good Luck to all of us!!!
12:38
[Comment From si]
thanks from Norway
12:38
redranter:  OK I think my stream is acting up right now.. but I hope it picks up when the half starts.
12:39
[Comment From Rob the Red]
Come on now lads put it to bed!!
12:39
Patrick:  I’ll pick it up for you in the meantime, Ranter.
12:39
[Comment From Matthew]
redranter, try iraqgoals channel 1, the stream works perfect there mate
12:39
Patrick:  Pienaar’s name still makes me giggle, as it slightly resembles penis.
12:39
Patrick:  Free kick for Arteta.
12:40
redranter:  Cheers for the links mate.. my links doing alright now

12:40
redranter:  I mean ebrahim and YDR
12:40
Patrick:  Arteta’s class was evident there.
12:41
[Comment From Bildani]
kinda late to be asking this, but why the black bands today?
12:41
[Comment From Dan]
arteta is an excellent player!
12:41
Patrick:  For such an athlete, Ronaldo walks, jogs and runs like he has to take a crap.
12:43
redranter:  Lescott’s foul on Carrick is a foul..
12:44
[Comment From Grognard]
If that’s not a fucking penalty, I don’t know what is?
12:44
[Comment From Bildani]
neville is getting schooled out there!
12:44
[Comment From Dan]
lol RR, lescots FOUL is a FOUL hehe
12:44
[Comment From romo]
the black bands are for the munich anniversary, its next friday but this is the closest home game to it
12:44
[Comment From romo]
i have to agree patrick! but yeh i see neville is starting the second half as he went in the first – a liability
12:44
[Comment From Dan]
united denied a second penalty…
12:44
[Comment From edwin]
PENALTY!
12:45
Patrick:  My girlfriend said, while this may be slightly insensitive, Park’s nickname should be “Sweet and Sour Park”.
12:45
redranter:  Moral 1: Never rely on streams while live blogging… I get to see the game in spurts now.
12:45
[Comment From Dan]
tevez shoots… high wide and not at all pretty…
12:47
[Comment From Grognard]
The problem with Tevez is composure in key striking moments. Is it always necessary to kill the bloody ball. He could have placed it on the ground and to the far post instead of always elevating the ball and trying to kill it.
12:47
[Comment From Dan]
everton playing keep ball at the moment
12:47
[Comment From Shami]
Maybe he should have let berbatov have a crack at that.
12:47
[Comment From ebrahim]
can i have a link my just freeze
12:47
[Comment From Dan]
but give it away and concede a throw in
12:48
redranter:  Some possession football going on as ROnaldo charges forward and then gives it away in the area.
12:48
redranter:  Wes Brown stripping down in the touchline
12:48
redranter:  Of course, not in that sense
12:48
[Comment From edwin]
ebrahim:http://redlog.pl/2009/01/31/wideo-z-meczu-manchester-united-everton-fc/
12:48
[Comment From Dan]
tevez, as usual, is being really selfish. he wants the starlight and its really showing
12:48
[Comment From Dan]
meanwhile brown is read to come on.
12:49
redranter:  EVDS’s punt meets tevez who goes for glory.
12:49
Patrick:  Manchester United substitute crap for crap at right back.
12:49
[Comment From Dan]
ooo RR, you are a dirty boy!
12:50
redranter:  Patrick: I’d disagree, with the sort of game Red Nev’s had Brown is a better defender, surely.
12:50
[Comment From edwin]
lets hope brown brings stablility on with him.
12:50
[Comment From edwin]
hahahahaha Dan!
12:50
redranter:  Sub: Brown on for Neville
12:50
Patrick:  Redranter: As I’ve previously mentioned, my in-match critiques are not to be taken seriously.
12:51
redranter:  Patrick: Duly noted.
12:52
redranter:  Some neat passing with Ronaldo Carrick and Tevez involved but the build up ends up in — you guessed it — an Everton defender’s kick.
12:52
[Comment From Dan]
tevez has been very frustrating in this game. £32mil? more like £3.2 if you ask me!
12:52
[Comment From Bildani]
can someone please please gift tevez with a goal so that he can settle down?
12:53
redranter:  57″ Some nice movement by Everton in the middle.
12:53
[Comment From Dan]
heart in mouth moment as hibbert sends in a cross, but is dealt with by ferdinand
12:53
[Comment From edwin]
We should be two-up. Stupid Referee.
12:53
[Comment From Dan]
arteta has a free kick, cooly saved bt VDS
12:54
[Comment From edwin]
EVDS-Legend!
12:54
[Comment From Dan]
everton are in the mood for this!
12:55
redranter:  Dan: They are a team that haven’t been given their due by many managers. It’s just sour grapes from the likes of Rafa and Wenger.
12:55
redranter:  And it’s amazing considering they’ve taken a grand total of 3 points or so from United over the past decade — I heard this stat in a podcast recently.
12:56
redranter:  this stat at OT, mind.
12:56
[Comment From Dan]
everton are very good indeed RR. they have been the most in-form team for the last 5 or so games.
12:56
Patrick:  Fletcher. Ewww.
12:56
[Comment From edwin]
NOT a freekick. Pienaar is a soft ****
12:56
[Comment From Dan]
fletcher gives the ball away, again…
12:57
redranter:  Fletcher shows attributes of his game that made many united fans in the past cringe at Fergie’s preference for him — gives the ball rather too easily after a promising buildup
12:58
redranter:  63″ corner for United.
12:58
[Comment From edwin]
Good god that was awful from Fletch
12:58
redranter:  Heads towards Ronaldo, hardly threatening and cleared by Everton.
12:59
Patrick:  Sometimes I marvel at how truly decrepit Berbatov looks. It’s like his soul has been infected by the ghosts of footballs past.
12:59
redranter:  lovely footwork from Tevez, puts Berbatov through, but it was an improbably angle for the Bulgarian.
12:59
[Comment From edwin]
Berba’s Lost a Boot!
12:59
[Comment From Dan]
10 minutes until VDS is crowned best PL keeper eveer!
1:00
redranter:  Despite United seemingly in control this game seems far from over.
1:00
[Comment From edwin]
No Dan, Please dont jinx my Idol…….
1:02
redranter:  66″ Some cute possession football. Always trust the elegance of Berbatov’s brilliant dummy wasted on Fletcher who nearly gives it away but for the determination of Mr 3 lungs. However he was too determined and saw the ball roll out for a goal kick.
1:02
[Comment From Grognard]
That’s it for the Perpetual Unibrow and now it’s time for Anchove.
1:02
[Comment From edwin]
Felaini Off? Well, I think we could take advantage….
1:03
redranter:  Meanwhile, as I was lost in typing my Masterpiece, Sub for Everton: Anichebe on for Fellaini
1:03
[Comment From Grognard]
You know if Carrick keeps playing this well he may steal the Player of the Year award from Vidic. He’s been great.
1:03
[Comment From Dan]
nice edwin
1:03
[Comment From Dan]
this game needs an attacking change, fast.
1:04
Patrick:  The contrast between Berba and Tevez is staggering. One can’t be bothered to sprint and the other can’t do anything but sprint.
1:04
redranter:  Carrick brought down on the edge of the area after a mixture of training ground passing and old fashioned hustling by players.
1:04
[Comment From Dan]
greedevez shoots and hits the wall…
1:04
[Comment From bildani]
pienaar is fricking prick
1:05
redranter:  Tevez takes the kick surprisingly. Ronaldo actually allows him!
1:06
redranter:  Tevez despite working up a bucketload of sweat has been more on the selfish side. I mean, strikers ought to be selfish but there are moments when it appears like he’s just going for glory. Which against is uncharacteristic of him
1:06
[Comment From Dan]
official, VDS breaks the record, best keeper ever to play in england!
1:07
[Comment From edwin]
Wahey! EVDS’s got the record! Best keeper Ever! (apart from Schmeichel)
1:07
redranter:  Ditto, as above.
1:07
Patrick:  If he were a Running Back, Tevez would be considered a “downhill, between the tackles” type.
1:07
redranter:  71″ Meanwhile Pienaar shot on goal goes into row Z — or is it row k?
1:07
[Comment From Dan]
excellent, giggs is on for fletcher
1:08
redranter:  Patrick: Always a pleasure to see NFL analogies
1:08
[Comment From edwin]
Giggsy on, Come on Giggsy, lets have some of that excellent form!
1:08
[Comment From roooooney]
giggs did in 1 min what fletcher couldnt do
1:08
Patrick:  Berbatov would be a Pocket QB.
1:08
redranter:  74″ Sub: Giggs on for Fletcher
1:09
Patrick:  Ronaldo, obviously, would be the primadonna wideout who can never see enough of the ball.
1:09
redranter:  Patrick: That would be Beckham.
1:09
Patrick:  hahaha
1:09
Patrick:  fair.
1:09
redranter:  Carrick, even
1:10
redranter:  But from a throwing perspective, I think it would be Rory Delap from the Premier League
1:11
redranter:  Back to the real football/soccer — erm, nothing spectacular other than possession retained and lost by both teams.
1:11
Patrick:  For United supporters to sing songs about Wayne Rooney is like rich kids picking on poor kids.
1:11
redranter:  Patrick: Explain.
1:11
[Comment From Dan]
carrick was playing further up the field today, but because he was, his passing has been slightly reckless. still had a good game though.
1:12
Patrick:  It’s not that they don’t want better clothes/cars/houses/whatever, they just can’t afford them.
1:12
[Comment From bildani]
what is tevez doing?!
1:13
Patrick:  I’m sure Everton fans/management/ownership didn’t want to lose Rooney, they just couldn’t afford him.
1:13
redranter:  77″ Again another promising forward break from United ending in questionable shot selection from Tevez.
1:13
[Comment From roooooney]
being jealous
1:13
[Comment From Dan]
you know what, if greedevez would pass more, he wouldnt be a half bad player.
1:13
[Comment From Grognard]
And Ronaldo is that classic tall wide receiver who can get up for the ball but who also has a whining big mouth. Sounds like Randy Moss to me.
1:13
[Comment From Ian]
How is O’Shea doing. I want to see Fabio on
1:14
Patrick:  O’Shea is, of course, O’Shea.
1:14
redranter:  The pitch, it must be said, paints a far from pretty sight. But that would be hardly surprising at this time of the year. Well at any time of the year in that part of England. Or well, any part of England.. erm… I forgot what point I was tryng to make.
1:15
redranter:  Ah yes, some work needs to be done on the pitch.
1:15
[Comment From Dan]
pirch needs to be re surfaced. ive seen championship pitches in better quality then ours.
1:15
[Comment From bildani]
ronaldo actually reminds me of adrian peterson
1:15
[Comment From Ian]
Nuff said!
1:15
[Comment From Dan]
welbeck on, tevez of is what i want!
1:16
redranter:  Again, another aerial ball from Everton disappears unthreateningly in the vortex that’s United’s back four.
1:16
redranter:  82″ Pienaar wins a free kick.. Vidic the offender.
1:17
redranter:  The ball this time threatens to escape the back four vortex but, after a brief struggle, the vortex gobbles it up
1:17
Patrick:  Baines looks like he should be teaching 7th grade history.
1:18
redranter:  My last comment was metaphorical.. i hope people got what I was rambling about.
1:18
[Comment From Grognard]
One day Everton is going to have to break out of their system and actually try to threaten an opponent. They haven’t defeated a top 4 side on the road in 10 seasons. That’s unbelievable ineptitude. But look at the way they play. I have to agree with Benitez about the fact they play negative defensive football. It’s cowardly but for them, it gets results. Boy, you just have to love those single points.
1:18
[Comment From Matthew]
why are we so scared to go for it and bring on wellbeck as well?
1:19
redranter:  Ok, on the game… the second half has descended into general ennui as United have descended into contentment. Some questionable decisions by the attackers upfront haven’t helped our cause either.
1:20
redranter:  spelling: containment or contentedness… can’t decide what I wanted to exactly say above.
1:20
[Comment From edwin]
Unlucky Park!
1:21
Patrick:  Carrick is surreal today.
1:21
redranter:  86″ another instance of determination from the 3 lunged Korean (instance # 1098724) but the ball doesn’t go in — as Park gets into the box and shoots from the left from a tight angle onthe keeper’s near side.
1:22
[Comment From Dan]
berbatov is unlucky today, passing in midfield hasnt been great, and greedevez has been well, guess!
1:22
redranter:  Brown’s crunching tackle I’d say… bookable offence others might say. But welcome back Brown.
1:24
redranter:  I realise that Giggs is on the pitch although I remember he was brought on for Fletch. That said, we haven’t really needed a second midfielder as Carrick’s made up for all that.
1:25
[Comment From edwin]
Piss off Anichebe You wanker!
1:26
Patrick:  Exciting stuff, this match. 3 points for a nap.
1:27
redranter:  Peep Peep Peep. United stay top as the American voice cuts in to say “something something, Manyoo!”. I cringe.
1:29
redranter:  Full Time: 1-0 to United My pre-game predictions turns out right for once. This live blogging thing has been fun for me.. although I shouldn’t rely on dodgy streams in future. Comments from other has been welcome and appreciated. This live blog will stop shortly as I approve the last of your comments. After that you can head to the bottom in our usual comments section to post your post game thoughts. Cheerio!
