Manchester United 2007/2008 Home Kit

It’s official folks.

We finally have the official pictures from Manchester United showcasing the new 2007/2008 home kit (due to launch on 1st August in the game against Inter Milan, methinks).

What can we say about the kit? It’s all red, with the United crest on the right and the Nike swoosh on the left. The AIG logo doesn’t look as bad as last year, except it’s the same of course and it’s just us getting used to it. White shorts and black socks which is fair although I wonder how it would have looked with black shorts instead.

The goalkeeper kit is great; they picked the right shade of blue and it contrasts well with the red home shirt.

What else? Oh yes, the kit :)

And in other news, we have reports that Wayne Rooney has been given the #10 shirt. Rooney to be lead striker? God bless SAF. My bet’s on Anderson getting #8 now.

Ed: And while we are still talking about kits, here’s a nice little video compilation of United kits from 1892-2007. It’s interesting to see the changes in the kits, the crest and the arrival of shirt sponsors. From humble beginnings, the modern kits have indeed come a long way!

I told you it wasn’t coming out until August. Anyway it looks OK but a bit plain, the same style as Fulham which is a bit dissapointing because United usually get a different style to the rest of the nike kits but I’ll still buy it on launch day.

P.S. does it have that stripe going down the back that they had on the other sites

There is no Silvestre in the photo, thank god, he might be leaving

That is the real kit and its terrible. More poor design from Nike.
The kit from last season was the best we’ve had in a while.

Yeah, I saw the with the stripe.. well would have to see the players wearing it to decide if I like it or not. For now I ‘d say “I have seen worse.”

Anyway if it is the one on the thumbnail, I’d pleased enough. Last season’s kit was the most beautiful thing I laid my eyes upon.

I prefer last year’s (the commemorative one). This looks way too plain and more like a training jersey than a game jersey. Lazy Nike again :P This picture must have been taken a while back. Some reserves who were released are in there. No Hargreaves in there yet, and someone forgot to tell Richardson to not bother showing up! :) Oi, where’s Ben Foster??

The image above is a fake. It has clearly been photoshopped, by someone who has too much time on their hands.
