Simple. It had nothing to do with resting ronaldo. Ferguson compared tevez to cantona in the way that he keeps scoring important goals thats all so it is a very reasonable comparison. Ronaldo is not united's new striker. He will keep his place in the team in the free role that he has, running from deep. Just because he scores lots of goals doesn't mean he's a stiker. The likes of henry were slightly different - he was a failed winger. We are looking for a forward not a winger. Ben arfa is more of a left sided player so he's not coming, fergusons already made that choice by bringing in nani. Benzema is the no.1 target. Aguero at athletico madrid is probably a back-up option. There's also berbatov, maybe ronaldinho. Huntelaar's not even an outside possibility. He's not good enough.
