That’s precisely what I have called it in my post asking for apology after your objection… I totally understand what you are saying but sometimes you read so many things and they get stuck in your head it just come out. But I totally agree with your point and I reiterate that I never had any history nor in this case I wanted to indulge into racist comment. And that’s why I immediately resurrected it by calling it precisely what you have mentioned that OIL MONEY or NON FOOTBALLING MONEY…
The only reason I jumped into it again is I would like it if we can stop discussion because RACISM in itself is such a SENSITIVE subject any discussion if boils over can go to some bad levels. All I am trying to say is something which has been started of because of me should stop (in ideal situation) with my OWN APOLOGY.
I hope my point is clear…

@Grognard: In the context of money, Arab Money has negative connotation. First, it is an enormous generalization to claim that money from oil/trade by rich sheiks is “Arab” money since a vast majority of Arabs live under the poverty line and in 3rd world countries with über-affluent dictators/kings. These rulers steal vast amount of riches from the countries and its people (via oil-trades) to embellish themselves with Rolls-Royces, Palaces, etc… while their people fight over bread (read: Egypt) and live in poverty. Second, Arab countries are very poor if you remove the ruling class/kings. In British football circles, racism is far from eradicated (but improved!) and using the term “Arab Money” as loosely as some in the media and on this blog, is a slippery slope/borderline racism.

Call it ‘oil money”, because that is what it really is and average Arabs get very little (if anything) of the large oil-covered pie.

@Grognard: To be honest I would have ignored it and moved on. I almost always laugh away internet insults. Why? Because it is the internet. Internet insults don't count for me because I know they come from behind a computer screen and is not said to me face to face. Standing up for oneself on the internet is not heroic, if you ask me. It's a lost cause that gives you more grief in the end. I have to do all this enforcement because I'm the moderator here and have to take things into account for having a civil discussion. But trust me, if everyone shrugged off insults that came their way, my job would be far easier. This non-confrontationalism doesn't have to be a generational thing: just ask Redrich. He'll tell it to you better than me.

Half of the people who are on here are probably just childish and just can’t contain their love for themselves…If it makes them feel good to make fun of people on a BLOG, then who is to stop them? It’s probably the only thing they got going for them, so let them win this one…If a child in the street walked by you and said, “You smell like a fishes vagina” then you would not lecture them for hours about how rude and disrespectful it is to call someone a “fishes vagina”, you would look at him and then keep walking; there is no need to keep poking back because then he will just keep up his work and might even add in some, “you look like a horses penis” and the like, so just drop it and keep discussing United as this blog is meant to do. Arguing on here is annoying in that only every 10th post is actually football related whereas the other nine posts revolve around crying to RR, making childish accusations, and lecturing people.

Now, you may be saying to yourselves, “He is a hypocrite; he just wrote one of those non-football posts!!” And the cycle continues…Someone has to break it; it might as well be you.

@Lars: Nobody likes to be called a poopyhead. And if I laid into you for three or four long paragraphs calling you everything under the book, I seriously doubt you would just move on. And if you could, then i’d seriously see a doctor to check for a pulse, if I was you. Please tell me, why I should be made to feel like a dickhead for standing up for myself?

@[OPTI]Madschester United: It’s the way of the world mate. Same thing as inheriting your wealth. That’s called “OLD MONEY” Is that not age discrimination then? It’s not meant to be racist, it’s just easier to remember. The money is coming from rich Arab nations, therefore, what is wrong with calling it ARAB? Since when is Arab considered a racist term? It is a four letter world however.

I truly enjoy this Grade A soap opera going on here…It reminds me one time in the old school yard (in 2nd grade, I believe) when one kid called another kid, “poopyhead.” Then the other kid then replied with a fierce, “poopyheads.” (Now, this kid is winning because he used the plural form of ‘poopyhead’ implying that the initial offender is/has more than ONE poopyhead…clever stuff, really). Next, the kid with now multiple poopyheads, decided to keep crying about it over and over again and at every opportunity….Instead of just ignoring it and get one with his/her life.
