Mourinho on his way to United?
Real Madrid and Jose Mourinho have reportedly confirmed the two will be going their separate ways in the summer.
Speculation has been pretty high that Jose Mourinho would leave Real Madrid at the end of this season no matter what happens, but now it appears that it has been made official by both parties.
With Madrid 13 points behind in the league, the whole season depends now on the performance in the Champions League, a trophy which he will be desperate to win as will the head honchos at Madrid, who are obsessed with getting their tenth European title.
Mourinho, according to the report on Spanish radio station Cadena Ser last night, is already in contract talks with another club, with all the focus now on who that club could be.
With a certain vacancy at Chelsea opening up in the summer and a probable one at Manchester City, as well as frequent overtures from the Portuguese as to his love of the English game, we can guess with a fair degree of certainty that he’s headed to the Premier League, but you never know, Mourinho is full of surprises.
Could he be on his way to United? Stranger things have happened. I guess we’ll know in 70 days time.

I was watching parts of the FA cup against Chelsea with a Chelsea fan. And he was saying that if Real win the champion’s league then Mourinho will definately leave Real and come back to Chelsea.
“But Mourinho is destined to take over from Ferguson” I protested. “Oh yes” he continued “Mourinho will take over from Ferguson but he will be at Chelsea while he waits for Ferguson to step down.”
“But Mourinho can’t go from managing Chelsea one season to managing United the next” says I. “He can and he will” says the Chelsea fan. Hmmm. Curious.
Personally I would prefer for Mourinho to come be an assistant manager at United while he waits for Ferguson to step down.
But I don’t know that his ego will allow such.
And would the club manage to have the ego’s of both Ferguson and Mourinho in one dressing room?
Realistically speaking though I don’t see Mourinho taking a sabbatical like Pep did so Mourinho will probably end up at Chelsea. I am afraid that him taking up another job after Madrid (other than the United post which Ferguson won’t be vacating anytime soon) means that he will put himself out of contention come the time that Ferguson does eventually step down.
But maybe Mourinho doesn’t need to take over straight after Ferguson. We could have someone in between with Mourinho taking over in 2020 or something like that. . .
The next chapter in United’s history will be an interesting one. Post Ferguson.

@The_Philosopher: Mourinho? Assistant manager? A man who has won trebles in different countries and claimed league titles in England, Spain, Italy and Portugal? Not going to happen.
Succeeding Fergie? The perfect candidate.

@Moscow: If he parks the ego he could do it.
Why miss out on an opportunity to see how Ferguson does it for the sake of your pride.
Its not like Mourinho can’t learn from Ferguson. I like open minded leaders.
Humility will take you places. Mourinho is very talented but that doesn’t mean that he knows everything.
Getting to know the club inside out with out the pressure of delivering could be good for him.
He would also be involved in planning for the future of the club that he will eventually be leading. He would get an inside track to Ferguson’s thinking which can only stand him in good stead fo rthe future.
If he had any disagreements with Ferguson he could keep those to himself and just change those things later when Ferguson stepped down.
The only thing stopping that kind of partnership is Mourinho’s pride and ego.
And like I said its a fantasy. Something that is highly unlikely to occur in reality.

@The_Philosopher: Ferguson is a lot of things, but he is not humble.

Will Haine reckons Mourinho is coming to United:

With a quote from none other than the former Chelsea no.2 Ray Wilkinson
But the details are scant though.

@The_Philosopher: hes certainly been whoring himself for the united top job in recent days. All the drama after the CL game, calling Giggs and Scholes greater than Ronaldo etc.
It all depends on Sir Alex though. Glazers would love to have Mourinho at United. He would guarantee continued success (and thats all they desire as all their money making depends on that heavily). It’d be interesting, this summer. I think Sir Alex might really step down finally this summer.

@jos: Not this summer.
One more season at least.
Him and Giggs are on the “one more season” plan.

He would be a fool to return to Chelsea; such horrible fans. United is the best future for Jose and us, and I do hope he will succeed Fergie.
On a different note Mr RedrantingPants, the clash of titans which we unfortunately lost(JosevsFergie)has brought forth an ode from my pen, but it is not for the simple mind, though written in a night of simple pain. Some days have passed but the sadness remains, and always will, and I do hope you can find a platform of recommendation for it, where it can be appreciated by all United Fans, and yourself. Cheers, thanks a lot – I’ll be back. Link to Fergie Time@Shakespeare’s: http://lexborgia.wordpress.com/2013/03/08/

Mourinho would never be our number 2, that is ridiculous to even suggest it. The man as an ego the size of South America and being a number 2 is not on his radar. You cannot question his success, you can question his football at Chelsea, Porto and Inter, yes he has been more attacking at Real, but with the options he has, that isn’t hard.
For me he is a scumbag, a revolting little man who would do more harm than good at United, but I am sure he would bring trophies, but at what cost?
