The tackle was high with studs up. This happens all the time in football. And that's the problem. This shit has to stop. Unfortunatley for Taylor he needs to be made an example of for the good of the game and for the future security of all players, especially the stars. If a tackle that could well have been career threatening is not severely punished, then the game has gone totally to the dogs. It's unfortunate for Taylor but his imitation of Vinny Jones needs to be squashed and a message sent around the footballing world. These tactics must stop or more severe bans will begin to occur. And this goes for star players as well. They must not be left immune to these punishments if enforcement on severe and unwarranted tackling is to be stopped. As for Arsenal, this will have to force Wenger to use Bendtner more and put pressure on Saha's hospital buddy Van Persie to stop letting minor injuries last a season long. I don't know much about what the FA deems to do but a life ban isn't exactly warranted for a leg break in a match. But definitely a lot more than a simple red card is called for. I wonder if the FA should introduce punishments for injuries as- time served in a ban to be equal to stat based estimate of time out on the injury of victim.
