Obertan to make United debut

Tag: News SnippetsRed Ranter @ 20:21

Defeats to Liverpool makes me sick. But looking forward to exciting young talents making their first team debuts helps lift the gloom. The official site reports Gabriel Obertan is expected to start on the left wing against Barnsley tomorrow.

Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed to ManUtd.com on Monday, “He’ll play tomorrow against Barnsley, it’s a good start for him.”

Betfair is offering a free £25 bet on United.

Skim reading a bit of yesterday’s liverpool thread, and it seems that Berba-bashing is once agai on the cards.

For the past 4 or 5 games he was lauded by many pure class, one of our better players since the start of the season with Giggs and Fletcher…

Yesterday against liverpool we lost the battle of midfield and everytime we lose this battle, Berbatov is made the scapegoat of our poor performace.

Yes, his performance was far from spectacular yesterday, but I still notice the improvement in that 1. He’s still more involved in the game than he would be compared to last year; 2. He starts to voice his frustration – a sign that he demands good service and not shy to communicate with his teammates…

Torres goal yesterday showed exactly what our team is seriously missing…..
…..true pace. Pace that can stretch defences. pace that can worry defenders.

Yea Valencia is fast but im talking about in the striker position. for me rooney/ berbatov is an overly slow, ponderous partnership. no enough cutting edge for me at all. when was the last time either of those two scored a similar goal to yesterdays? when do you ever see our stikers run past a defender on a one on one??? i honestly cant remember…

but to make things worse the two of em seem to have forgotten how to bloody shoot!! what the fuck are they doing out there..?? grow some balls lads and at least take a few decent shots at goal….PLEASE

Valencia’s form suggests he has made the right wing position his. Now if Gabriel were to break into the first team, he would probably play on the left wing, displacing Giggs/Nani. What would be nice to see is the manager giving a player a good run in the team be it Nani, Tosic or Gabriel. At lease five consecutive performances, then we can all make conclusions about players. Fair enough , dont you think?

Read a few posts about playing our future team, but thats not possible, if it were we would be another Arsenal. Whether teams are in transition or not a blended mix of youth and experience is compulsory, having said that our experince seems to be past its sell by date….

Rooney is a fraud. The English press made him a superstar as a kid and he believed it.All he possesses now is basic footballing skills and nothing extra. After every game folks are quick to attack berba and the rest but our fat striker has lost it big time.
