Recently over the last 5-7 yrs we've seen more and more strikers reaching their peak at a younger and younger age... Thierry Henry at 30 is nowhere near being as good as Thierry Henry at 25. Same for Owen, Raul, RVN, and basically most good strikers. Sure there's the odd exception but think about it closely. 25-26 for me is the real peak age for strikers nowadays. Which is a far cry from defenders who start to become really good at that age.. So if early on strikers don't show much promise then I can't really see them developing to reach the level that is espected for the United 1st team.
