Giggs’ Honour | Striker Talk

Ryan Giggs has been awarded the OBE honour on the Queen’s birthday, for services to football. He joins Bryan Robson and Beckham as other Man Utd players to have got this honour from the Queen.

Sir Bobby Charlton also spoke of his delight at Giggs’ recognition. And yes, even he wished what much of England have been wishing for a long time: “If only he’d have played for England!” United old boy, Teddy Sheringham was also honoured, although I wonder if it was for his ability to play in the Premiership till the age of 40, or for his very much active sex-life even at the age of 40.

Rossi’s place at Manchester United

Every day, Manchester United is linked to another striker.

One day its Samuel Eto’o, the next day its Fernando Torres, and the next day its Javier Saviola. All of these strikers would be excellent additions to Man Utd, but are they really worth the expensive transfer fees that they will command? Other than Eto’o, the answer is no.

Smith: I’ll leave Manchester United if they sell me

Tag: Manchester United News @ 12:44 pm

I have a brilliant idea – why don’t these football players actually STOP speaking with News of the World and The Sun? That would cut down on 1/4th of the crap news we hear, and perhaps 20-30% of the blog posts generated around that crap news.

Excluding this one, of course.

So what did Smith ‘actually’ say to SunSport?

A Tribute to the Boss

Tag: Site News @ 12:43 pm

When people abused him, he ignored them and let his players make them cry.

When a ‘respected pundit’ laughed at his ‘kids’, he made sure the pundit’s words would haunt him to this day.

When the world wrote him (and his team) off as a fading force, he gave them a fitting riposte; one that was delivered by his team with such force and breathtaking style.
