Possebon Heads for Santos Exit
United midfielder Rodrigo Possebon is set to join Brazilian club Santos. The deal is still in progress and is expected to be completed on Friday 20 August, but the two-times FIFA Club World Cup winners are keen to herald Possebon’s imminent arrival.

The once promising midfielder was never really the same since his injury due to Pogatetz’ horror tackle. It may be said that his short-lived spell at SC Braga in Portugal didn’t do him any good either. A shame, but here’s hoping he’s carves out a nice career for himself with Santos.

@Owen: That was directed towards the Macheda-Diouf debate, why Kiko is preferred. Haven’t got a say about Anderson, because what you hear from the players and the manager are two completely different things! So impossible to say…

Blackpool are earning my respect with some VERY positive football so far. They are at emirates and are giving Arsenal a challenge and are NOT sitting back and parking the bus.
Blackpool. Respect.

@[OPTI]Madschester United: When a small promoted club hit the ground running , they usually end up relegated or fighting to avoid relegation.
Except maybe Wigan a couple of seasons ago.

@Owen: They were equalling Arsenal with 11 men, but the red card and penalty killed the game, yet, Blackpool kept attacking, perhaps to the demise of the result. Deep breath. End run-on.

Now that’s just depressing. To think Anderson was so close to leaving the team and making my millennium, it makes me just want to cry. God how I hope he and Fergie get disgruntled this season with his annoying fat assed presence.

@Redrich: Poor tackling is such a big part of his game mate. Every game there is at least one bad tackle it seems and one yellow card. It’s almost comical. What really gets me is that it always takes part in a part of the filed where there is no danger to us, so in essence, it is completely unnecessary and borders on stupidity.

@Grognard: Surely take the positive from this news that he wants to get stuck in and play more football, it could be worse, we could have paid 20million for him and then let him play 6 games and sent him on loan to Juventus…

@Craig Mc: I think Ireland is a good player too. Although he isn’t a favourite of mine and he reminds of Moby and Karl Pilkington with that dome of his, he is a player that I think fits perfectly within our system of play. His pace and his ability on counters is a real tool that we could really use. Still, as usual, we don’t have him or Ozil or anyone els with a bit of pedigree and a reputation.

@Owen: You know, the way he has played the last year I think he is sending a message to Giggsy. “Everything you can do, I can do better” Cause if you watch his goals, assists, runs and the way he dribbles, they remind me an awful lot of a younger Giggsy… and now this goal, which is right out of Ryans book.

@Spizzy: It’s hard to tolerate teams like Madrid and Barcelona because of the way they bully their way in the game. They use their money like it’s cheap toilet paper and get away with a lot of wrong doings because they have both FIFA and UEFA in their back pockets. But like you said, the one thing you have to give them credit for is that they do their damnedest to keep their fans and investors/members happy. I hate them but how I wished we were like them. I love the concept of a fan run team that caters to the fans and not some rich owner. Sure I’m jealous of these teams. At least I am able to admit it instead of bashing them for the way they do business. I don’t like teams that spend irresponsibly like City but can you knock a team for trying to do the right thing? But as much as I wish United spent a little money on proven players, I still think that there has to be a better balance and understanding on the do’s and don’ts of proper team building. The Man City way is a disaster waiting to happen whereas United will succeed despite it’s unwillingness to spend money because they get so many other elements of team building right. Buying the right kind of player with the right attitude is vital. City is buying hard core mercenaries who only care about money and who are not team oriented players. The collective me myself and I attitude along with their individual greed will be a recipe for disaster.

@Gabriel: I think Fergie needs to blame himself and Hargreaves. Every player that is bought has to go through a physical and in that physical, Hargreaves passed. Also, Hargo should have told Fergie that he has chronic problem rather than hiding it. I honestly think the buyer needs to take most of the responsibility in this kind of scenario. Remember that Bayern did not want to sell for a long time.

@Will: I want him to get stuck in a cab and on his way to the airport. Anyone that is expecting this talented moron to all of a sudden have a light shine down on him and turn him into a great footballer is delusional. He hasn’t got the skills mate. All the wishful thinking cannot change that. People might like to compare him with what happened with Nani but Nani had shown over and over just what kind of exquisite talent he had and so it was a waiting game worth going through.

@EduardoDaVinci4: Chelsea did not play well until after their 2nd goal in the 2nd half. Wigan gave them a good fight until then… same happened at West Brom.
I don’t know if Chelsea poison their opponents half-time Gatorade, but there is an enormous difference between Chelsea in 1st halves and Chelsea in 2nd halves…
I could see them struggle if they go down 1-0 early in first half as it would leave them open to counter attacks… since speed is their main weakness in my opinion.

Agreed…Ireland is as slow as molasses even though he has a silky smooth touch on the ball…Ozil has both pace and technique…which makes him head and shoulders better…despite the competition he’s kind of in a better situation at RM…Spain defense is not stressed as much because the pace of the game is less frantic..although I’m sure Mourinho will have different ideas with his defensive mindsight…I won’t lie I am interested to see how the RM team lines up with Khedira and Ozil…

Ah the one that got away…I rue that we missed out on him…Bale and Ramsey (who must be wondering how he will break into Arsenals midfield with their 30 midfielders)….you would think Giggs being Welsh would have played a bigger part in luring them to OT….Bale is just an absolute monster and Ramsey looks like he will be too…

@Owen: I see Martinez’s days at Wigan as being very few. His team gets embarrassed far to easily. Having lost 8-0 last year you think they would have shown more heart and backbone at home against Chelsea in a rematch. Not only don’t they have talent but no heart either.

DOn’t even get me started with this Hargo fiasco..Fergie was so fixated with wrestling him away from Bayern after his 2006 WC performance it seems his health issues slipped through the cracks…the guy has played 26 games in 3 years as a United player..unbelievable…he should just retire and save face instead have United release him…what a fantastic workrate in his day and what a waste….I think its time for us to move on from Hargo…Matty James or somebody (don’t rate COrry Evans) step in for the season…never mind James is on loan..but Iw ould be up for giving a youth player an opportunity in Hargo’s palce for a year and see what happens…

SUre I am just ineterested to see how they lineup, and how they play in the system…I watched that Canales boy in preseason and he is no mug…left-footed, young, skillfull and he has a flair quality about him with flicks and backheels you don’t see in a lot of players….and he defends which Ozil doesn’t…so it will be a right battle…anwyay who cares about RM..GLORY MAN UNITED!!!

@Don: Maria will play on the left side in 4-2-3-1 with Higuain as the front man,Ronaldo on Right and Ozil behind Higuain as ACM(Sneijder role).Khedira will sit further back in the middle with Alonso.
Canales is not ready yet and will start some match from bench but there also he will be behind Leon in the queue.

just watched the latter part of the Chelski game and I was impressed how they were ripping Wigan apart…I guess that’s the key..they were playing WIgan..let’s see how they do when they are not playing relegation fodder..that will be the true test of how good they are…will JT continue with his defense howlers? Even the Arsenal performance doesn’t tell me much except they have an unbelievable talent in Wilshere stepping into the first team fold, Walcott seems to have improved his end product and their midfield is still good (it has always been) and Chamakh adds a bit of backbone to the frontline that they haven’t had…let’s see how things go when they roll out the yellow ball in the dead of winter and it is a dogfight at the Brittania against Stoke…if they can turn out those type of performances i will hold my hands up and say Chelski and Arse are frontrunners for the title…

I wonder how players feel when they leave RM..they arrie “dreaming” of RM and leave in disgrace being kicked out (or nudged out) by incoming “Dreamers”..it is just so disgusting…look at Mamadou diarra..he was rated higher than Essien before he got to RM yet now he is an occasional sub who is being pimped around Europe…VDV is the same..they wanted to force him out last season but he stuck around as one of the last DUtch hold outs…next year or the year after when Ganso starts dreaming of RM they will want to offload Kaka or whoever else….and they wonder why the team underachieves…no stability in management as well as players…what do you expect? I really do wonder why top players keep running there…I understand the history and stature of the club and all but can’t they see the lunatics are running the asylum!?!? Unless you are a sure player (Galactico) there really is no point in ging to RM because your behind will be on the bench or you will get the occasional cameo and will beon your way out as soon as the next sexy young superstar starts flirting with RM….ok I’ll get off my soapbox…

Everybody knows Arsenal will not go past the transfer window with Almunia as #1..its just a matter of time…it seems like Wenger has finally addressed things in the side which have caused them to fall short…getting rid of gallas and getting some defenders who are good instead of people like sylvestre and getting a goal scoring #9 instead of relying on the oft injured RVP..the last think is the keeper situation and you know that will be addressed..the last thing is will they have the charcater and determination to finish the job…can Fibreglass, Rosicky and co have the steel that VIera and Petit once had to make them champions..they have seriously lacked in the character department so lets see how it all plays out…

I don’t regret letting Foster go…I think it is well known next to David James he is probably the most athletic of England’s keepers…and a great shot stopper…but unfortunately he is prone to howlers..if he can get the out of his game and learn how to distribute the ball with his feet he will be a top top keeper…as a keeper at United, 1 or 2 howlers and that costs you the title…playing at Birmingham he doesn’t have to deal with that pressure so he can develop and get football week in week out….i think he is 27 so he has time..my feeling is the distribution part will not change…although the concentration part will…

Not so sure Ramsey will just slot in..Arsenal just have a myriad of midfielders…I think Arsene just likes buying them…Arshavin, Walcott, Rosicky, Fabregas, Diaby, Song, WIlshere, Nasri, Denilson and they have a youngster called Lansbury who is also making noise….even if you take Fabregas out..there are no guarantees..I guess he will probably competing with Song, Diaby, Wilshere and Denilson….
