We need to sort Tevez too. But yeah, once he’s done the squad is locked up I believe. Good news.
Bad news is that it’s nothing short of painfully clear that Ronaldo is a d*ck. Other than that I don’t think his white strip comments mean any more than another reason to get the camera on his face. Which he really does do quite well.

ALL,
If only Ronaldo could have said the said as Patrice Evra now he has signed a new contract.
Here are a few quotes:
“It’s a pleasure and an honour to be part of this fantastic side and to be coached by Sir Alex Ferguson and his staff,” he said.
“United is more than a club – it’s a family I am proud to be a part of and that’s why it’s always been a first choice for me.
“I declared when I arrived that I was coming here not just to play but to win, and United is the ideal place to realise such a dream.
“It’s a privilege to play in front of our fantastic fans and I’m sure the success we’ve earned in the last two seasons confirms the history of this club and will be the start of something even more special.”
These are the words of a man who knows that you do not leave Manchester United for another club. You go when you are asked to leave. He talks about the manager, the fans, the history of the club. This is man sounds like he wears his heart on his sleeve. He understand what playing for Manchester United means.
Also I think you’ll find Ronaldo parts his butt cheeks when he is in the Portugal camp to Real Madrid not open his legs!
I am bitterly dissappointed with his comments after all the support I gave him through the Rooney sending off and all the stick I took cos I gave him that support. It makes me feel so regretful singing his name at Old Trafford for him to do this.

fergie and David Gill have Dismissed the idea of an improved contract for you know who!!! Plus
FIFA can’t penalise Madrid now Blatter and Platini can go fuck themselves and finally there’s a rumour
we might after all sell that asshole in exchange for Ramos and robinho….I don’t know how much
of this is true, but I hate FIFA coz platini calls us cheats and He and sepp think
Madrid are innocent..I wish somebody stuck a rocket up Platini’s ass……

Maroon 14 and Realred, about ronaldos comments about the white strip, his comments are taken out of context, the journalist asked him if he liked playing in the white away strip of Portugal and then when he realised what he had said he told him he preferred the red of manchester. So don’t be so quick to judge on what you hear in newspapers and on websites, especially if its is Marca or AS

The philosopher has spoken – Good on you Evra, and what wise words you speak about United and Fergie, and the fans, You put Ronnie the international playboy to shame!. Your words have gladdened my heart mate, and just what United fans needed to hear, a player for whom United is no 1 choice, and your dream. Like Evra said, United is the wonderland for players, and was always No 1 choice for him. What a lionheart for our club, he’s one of us for sure, a United faithful!. Just made my day he has. Bet Ev’s name will be chanted from the rafters by United faithful next season. Shame on us if it isn’t.

GO EVRA! You just made United fans ADORE you. The white strip stuff is more bullshit from Spanish newspapers. I think the big clubs should form out of Fifa and Uefa. Platini and Septic Bladder can suck eggs when theres no United, Chelsea, Barca, Arsenal, Bayern, Inter, Juventus in the Champions League!

Beachryan- admittedly I have not seen the interview my self I am just taking it from a translated portuguese site that says it has the full interview.
the media would not include the manchester part beacause its not exciting news, we all know how journalists work, if there is no exciting news they make it themselves, which is why I don’t believe most of the stories about Ronaldo

jason; Germany are not pretenders. They just took Croatia lightly and lacked the desire and hunger to play the game because it was not do or die. Greece lost a game in 2004 to Russia and went on to win it. It’s not the end of the world although I am concerned about their lack of focus and desire. I was taken by Bilic’s passion and energy on the sidelines and then watched Low do his best Wenger imitation as he stood there emotionless and like a statue of Abraham Lincoln. Bilic reminded me of the passion exhibited by Juergen Klinsmann in 2006. This keeps a team on it’s toes and fires them up emotionally. Germany looked beaten in the first 10 minutes as they reminded me of German teams from 94 to 2005 where they were slow, uninspired and lacking focus.
Gomez is a major disappointment for me. The lad is quality but i have to say he looks tired and sluggish and his first touches are not anything like his regular play of the past. For me they have to shake up the back four and the front two. Klose is non existent and he isn’t even getting chances. Something has happened to Klose since his injury in the 11th game of the season this year. Since then he looks disinterested and completely a non threat. He also doesn’t look in sync with Gomez. Podolski is showing me he has become a true goal poacher and a versatile player having to play out of position. If I was Low I would consider playing a 4-5-1 and sit down Klose and play Podolski and Odonkor wide to create fast pace and breaks. Also, Germany needs to sit Jansen down. He was terrible today and was the main reason we lost. Play Lahm at LWB and move Fritz to RB and then bring in another ball control midfielder with pace like Odonkor or skilled players like either Hitzlesberger or Borowski. Gomez will be better as the lone striker up front rather than the confusion created with Klose.
Their performance today was a disgrace for German football but it certainly was not fatalistic. How many times I can recall in the past has Germans delivering one of these in a major tournament only to end up in the final. Having said this, if they get into the final Spain’s pace as well as their superior skill to Croatia will cause Germany great problems I think. Germany need to take care of their business and hope for somebody else to knock the Spaniards out.
NOTE; Podolski is apparently hinting that he does want out of Bayern unless he gets assurances of a starting position from Klinsy. Based on the way Klose is playing, that may happen. If it doesn’t I would say that Podolski would be a great signing for Fergie if he can overlook the lad’s German upbringing. Perhaps if he thought of him as a Pole that would convince him. Although I have always been fan and supporter of Poldy, let it be known that I am firmly seated on his bandwagon with the seat belts fastened. And I base my feelings on what I have seen from the lad over the past three years, not just the EUROS, even though this tourney has gone a long way to confirm my feelings on his abilities and potential. But instead we will end up with slugs like Fabiano or Santa Cruz who couldn’t beat out Podolski at Bayern.

I can’t wait to get the last laugh on all those who seem to love to put down the Germans for losing this game. Will we here from any of you after they have reached the final?
Have none of you learned anything from history? Germany is a proud nation with proud footballers who do not say die and fight through adversity. That is why they have won 6 major tournament and been to the final 12 times to England’s 1 in the last 60 years. I think they deserve a little respect and the benefit of the doubt.

Haha everyones good compared to England in the last 60 years. That’s the truth and only the truth. Yes the Germans are down but not out! Podolski will thump 10 more goals in and get signed by United! Only half-dreaming I should think.

GuineaDevil, I doubt there is much truth in those reports, I can’t see why Ferguson would want Robinho and there is now way madrid are going to let ramos go, he is the future of their team. It may even be made up by Madrid to take FIFAs focus off them tapping up Ronaldo, after all Marca are basically run by the club

grognard your in a better position to comment than me but imo i thought lahm was one of germanys best player if not the best in that game. He was brilliant when he moved to left back but just as good at right back, and judging by what i saw am i correct in believing he is right footed? perfect replacement for neville if that is the case

You wouldnt because it ruins a good story, its the same way that even alot of the more respected media outlets picked up the “Ronaldo banning Fergie” story but even the better ones hid the fact Fergie never had any intention of going to see him at the very bottom
Even without it it does seem like a very leading question, something Ronaldo seemed to realise once he had answered. Its the media just looking for another story to write about

wow so just because Germany have one bad game they are suddenly rubbish? The Croats just caught them out. I think that there’s a good chance Germany would have drawn or won if Croatia didn’t get that lucky goal. By the way Grognard, what do you think of Lehmann as goalie? I have heard about a lot of good German goalkeepers although never seen them play e.g. Neuer and Enke

How about a song or chant for Evra?? Lets put our thinking caps on here, we as fans should shower him with praise and affection to equal not only his kick ass performances as the best LB in the country but for also taking a huge amount of pride in wearing the shirt. He is an example in class to future united targets. So lets sing his name and thank him.

olliey; Lahm is the real deal. How good is he? Just look at how bad Jansen was and you get a real impression of how good Lahm is. Yes he is right footed and he is actually better from the left side because when he cuts in he can use that right foot to take good shots like the one he scored in the World Cup. He would be a fantastic signing but he has agreed to a three year deal with Bayern now that Klinsmann is the manager. To get Bayern to sell him would take more than he is probably worth. Besides, the way Jansen has played so far, Bayern may look to off load him and put Lahm back at LB.
Liam; I think Lehmann is a quality goalkeeper who on occasion makes a gaff but then, all gk’s make gaffs now and then. He cannot be blamed for the second goal today as the Podolski deflection was beyond his control. He’s old but he is very good and has great shot stopping skills, is fantastic with corners and crosses and has excellent distribution. For me however, the best German keeper right now is Manuel Neuer. He is simply outstanding and I think he is better than the younger and slightly overrated Rene Adler. Germany in fact have at least half a dozen quality gk’s and so the competition is always there to keep them on their toes. Many have forgotten about Hildebrand and Robert Enke but they are excellent keepers too and King Kahn was fantastic right down to his last game. But for me the one that is tops is Neuer. Now if you ask me who the best goalkeeper on the planet is I have to say Artur Boruc of Celtic and Poland. That lad is just awesome. For me he is another Schmeichel A great shot stopper and great intimidating presence in the box. Nobody messes with him.

Patrice Evra has more class in his baby finger nail than Ronaldo has in his entire body and family line. For me his loyalty and pledge of allegiance to the team is not just appreciated, it’s a wake up call to all those assholes out there who seem to think signing for United is not a good career move. Patrice expressed himself very well and I for one am very grateful for his continued tenure with the team. He is also the best LB in the world right now and I think it’s a disgrace the out of form and woefully overrated Abidal plays ahead of him for France. It’s that old fashioned notion that one cannot be very good if he plays in the Prem. They have to be playing in Italy or Spain. What a load of rubbish.

Boruc is not the best keeper in the world.
Lehmann should have got to the second goal.
The only reason germany are favourites is because of the way the draw works.
Croatia are a very good team and deserved the win.

Grognard; I have to agree with tevez on this one. Boruc is world class at shotstopping but watching him quite a bit I find him to be a bit accident prone and quite sluggish sometimes. Once or twice this season he cost Celtic important games with stupid mistakes and seems to lose concentration when (as is usual in the SPL) Celtic dominate the game and he is only called upon once or twice. However if he keeps concentration then he is fantastic.
I also do think that Lehmann had plenty of time to get across to that but reacted quite slowly. That mistake probably cost Germany at least a draw and should be looked at.

Liam; I think you are a bit harsh with Lehmann. He judged the direction of the ball and was moving right. Then the ball is deflected to his left. Now I don’t know if you have played a lot of sports, I assume you have. That is not an easy thing to do to change your momentum, balance and body weight in a split second and recover. I think he did all he could do. Boruc on the other hand is fantastic and like I said before, he like all goalkeepers is prone to the odd mistake. God knows Van Der Sar has made a few in his day too. His reflexes and shot stopping skills are amongst the best I’ve ever seen. Did you catch the number of exceptional saves he made today? WOW! And finally, I love Germany but I feel they were outclassed today and did not deserve a draw. That doesn’t mean they cannot win it all though. German teams have a knack for rebounding and righting the ship.

Lehmann’s positioning wasn’t great for the cross coming in. The ball deflected early, off the first man, while it was still a fair distance from goal. Lehmann reacted slowly and then i think he may still have been able to get it if he was braver but it looked like he was afraid of hitting the post.

Podolski may not be the brightest of footballers tbh. This is what he had to say:
Football is like chess, only without the dice.
Last time I played chess, I hadn’t used dice. Am I missing something? [Actual words: "Fussball ist wie Schach, nur ohne Würfel"]
