Suarez makes stunning United claim
In an amazing interview aired in Argentina today, Luis Suarez claims the English media are ‘controlled by Man United’.
Suarez went on to accuse the English media of unfairly treating him and his South American compatriots differently to native players.
He said: ‘When someone comes and says to me something bad about being a South American, I don’t cry, because that happens inside the pitch.
‘I have my conscience clean. But as I have said: Manchester United controls the media, they are powerful and the media will always help them.
Coming just days after the United Liverpool fixture went without the controversies of recent years, Suarez appears once again to be proclaiming his innocence in the Suarez vs Evra episode, let’s hope we meet again in the FA Cup somehow this season, this time at Old Trafford rather than Anfield.
Despite being undoubtedly one the best forwards in the world right now, Suarez refuses to keep his mouth shut. Is he manufacturing a way out of England with this latest remark? Has the media hounded him out or is he reaping what he sows?
Theoretically, would you have him at United based on his football ability and form? Could you see a Suarez/RvP partnership working out? I know it’ll never happen, but based on his football ONLY I’d have him in my side all day.

I think Suarez has got it spot on; English media to me looks very immature the way some issues are being handled and magnified. There is also an element of bias when reporting some issues involving other clubs; mainly LfC. Media will build a mountain out of a molehill around incidents or issues involve Liverpool Football Club, thus really unfair. This kind of attitude seems be destroying football here. Thus a pity!

@granger gibson: Suarez have a bad history of always involving in controversies. Is it United that told him to be diving all about? Or is it United that told him to bite an opponent when he was still at Ajax? Or is it United that told him to use hand to stop a goal-bounded ball at the world cup against Ghana? A whole lot of controversies ever before he came to EPL. Is he the first South American to grace the EPL?
A person that doesn’t find faults in what ever bad thing he does but to blame others for his mistakes.

Ah the racist rat speaks again.
Id love to know how ‘manchester united control the media’ exactly, other than being that biggest club who attracts the most attention of course.
Its also a strange thing for a Liverpool player to say when the majority of pundits are ex-lfc players and have a sympathies towards them.
Sounds like its just another case of ‘always the victim, never your fault’. Another one bitter that his team aren’t good enough to compete.

Until Fergie is gone, Man Utd will always control the media and the FA. And Gill has to step down from the FA board as well.

Is this website expected to be taken seriously when it allows some of the language used by ‘not 19 forever’ to go unchallenged. I am not pro or con the article ar its implicit opinions but these kind of posts and the mindset that creates them are polluting football in this country.

It’s true you do have the press the refs and even the FA in your pocket. As you also have your own board members working in the FA. And that that to me is a conflict of interest. The should make a programme called in bed with Fergie. And have a picture of ferguson in bed with the FA board members, certain news papers reporters and the love of his life the referee’s.

I keep thinking “Gary Neville”. Similar characters, but … Red Nev would do anything to win a game, and keeps saying so in his pundit role: but Gary never bitched about being picked on, always took his punishment on the chin. Suarez lacks that grace (or is it intellect … or is it ease with our language?). He looks for help/support outside our shores, and in doing so, reinforces the fact that he does not belong here. He should move on to his next paycheck elsewhere – Russia might be good. Winners look for angles, losers look for excuses. This guy makes excuses

As for what he says about the media, he is bang on that they blow everything about him way up, but this is only since a manager called him a diver, now which manager was that, oh yes Slur Alex. This after Man U having some of the bigest set of divers (Ronaldo & Nani) and the biggest football vilian (Cantona)seen in the past few years.

Well then, I suppose the media, the FA and everybody else is to blame for you guys being a mediocre mid table club in 8th then… Poor you… I’m sure the other South American players in other Premiership clubs feel exactly the same way as sulky Suarez, victimized. We don’t hear of Da Silva, Aguero, Sandro, saying anything along that line. In fact they’re idolized and even respected by rival fans because they’re professionals on and off the pitch. Poor Sulky Suarez, if you were any less talented with the ball, Loserfool would have dumped you without much thought like Andy Carol. In fact your buddies would have lynched you themselves. The talent deserves more, maybe, but the man, deserves much less. You are where you are, to never ever win the big ones.

Suarez says he’s not affected by the media, but clearly he is since he can’t shut up about it. Come on now, you’re a bloody footballer. Let your feet do the talking. But clearly his mouth has more actions than his feet since the last time we saw him on TV, he was shit, and what was the score again? Was it 2-1? I used to hear alot of the words “this will be our year”, and “turning the corner” crap. So now it’s “victimized” crap. Maybe not playing in Europe is affecting your sense of reality and magnifying your sense of denial. Remember, league position don’t lie. You are where you are.

But seriously guys, all this thing with the players, media, managers and FA is all just drama. They add spice to the EPL. They build up the hype to the games and everybody around the world gets worked up about it. Who’s the real winner? Betting houses.
But frankly, the media loves to scrutinize Suarez because simply, it’s easy. Just put pressure on him and he’ll do something stupid. Play with his mind and he’ll say something stupid. Being the main man at Liverpool of all places amplifies that spotlight.
Other teams will capitalize on his weakness to shake him up before the game and he’ll claim a goal from a handball. You can always count on Fergie to use his Jedi mind trick on the opponent and even his own troops. All that matters is 3 points. (That handshake snub gave Man Utd 3 points)
So why don’t everybody just chill out and enjoy the drama. I’m having a good laugh over here, simply comical.

My honest opinion, based on his ability alone. No, I would not have him in the united team, I honestly wouldn’t. He’s on a good run of goal scoring form now but He’s too inconsisntant and I honest think he’s way over hyped.
I think Hernandez is better than Suarez, he just doesn’t get in the lime light because he’s an honest, hard working lad who just wants to play football. That’s the problem with football thoug, people always only talk about the bad guys and that’s why footballers have such a bad reputation stereotypically.

Totally agree, I’d be embaressed to have that scumbag in our team. Hernandez is a credit to football and totally humble, Suarez as close to a rat as a human could ever get.
Suarez like Liverpool is clutching at straws, always looking to blame others for their demise. But when you see grown men like Dalglish and that other idiot on Talksport showing no class, what do you expect from someone like Suarez

If ever a player and a club were made for each other it’s these two. There isn’t a news paper or tv station in the land that doesn’t have an ex liverpool player doing their punditry. Suarez wouldn’t have lasted 5 minutes in Ronaldo’s shoes when he was here. The persecution complex that seems to run through that club is a sure sign of a loser mentality which explains why they seem to be as far away from winning the league as at any time in the last 20 years and long may it continue.
Anyway if people don’t want to take the word of a cheating racist that United control the media, he could always try getting Kuyt and Commoli to back him up.

There’s no need for Suarez and Liverpool to fabricate excuses for not being good enough to win. Honestly, is everyone else to blame for Liverpool being mediocre? Simply pathetic. This is the toughest league in the world and if you can’t stand the heat, maybe you should go home then.
But, Suarez is the media’s wet dream. He’s reasonably talented, he makes headlines for all the wrong reasons and he can’t shut up about it even if his life depended on it. Remember, there’s no news like bad news.
And Liverpool, being Liverpool will always attract negative press. It pains me to see their fall from grace. The great sides of over 2 decades ago. That was so long ago, last century. Half the people on the planet wasn’t even born yet.
But seriously, Liverpool fans gotta expect the disparity in most things (bar refereeing). MU have been dominant for over 2 decades so obviously the biggest club in England with the biggest media coverage. 35-40% of EPL fans worldwide are United supporters. So, if you wanna climb back on that perch, start winning the big ones.
But, sadly, nobody in your squad is championship material. Suarez and Sterling are the only 2 with reasonable resale value. Suarez could be higher if he can keep his mouth shut.
It’s no secret the neutrals will always support any team challenging United. We accept the “us against the world” thing. Why does United keep on winning? Because we accept the challenge, however big it may be, and triumph over it.
So, Liverpool fans, if you’re sick of losing, mediocrity and all those empty promises crap, come on over to United. We promise we won’t brand you guys as glory hunters. We embrace all. Rediscover the joy of winning again (over 40+ Liverpool fans would know the feeling). That’s the spirit of Manchester United. SAF has instilled a winning philosophy and long may the glory continue.

United does not only control the media, they control the FA too, and all the refs! United have been paying loads of money over the last 20 years to dominate the EPL like they have. Really!
I’m sure the ABU’s see the world like that, but even the most bitter ABU with half a brain really should understand just how silly that is…

What’s hilarious is the LFC fans not seeing what an absolute twunt Suarez is and referencing things we got punished for as evidence that we control the media and FA. Ferdinand got a record ban for missing his drugs test ( longer than Mutu who tested positive ) and as far as I’m aware no manager has been censured by the FA for comments etc. more than SAF.
Maybe the media would start reporting on the football more than his antics if he actually cut his antics out, but he’s far too unintelligent to see that, as is any Liverpool fan who thinks Suarez was referring to Evra as ” Negrito ” ( admitted by Suarez ) in a totally genial and amicable manner.
In fact Suarez and LFC deserve each other…

For all our Liverpool fans who call for David Gill to resign his place on the board of the the FA due to him been on the board of Utd.On the current board are Phil Gartside [Bolton chairman],Anyhony Kleenthous[Barnet chairman]and Keith Lamb[Middlesboro director].The F A have only two streams of income internationals and the FA cup.The FA have no say in the day to day running of any of the leagues. For those who know very little may I add Rick Parry ceo Liverpool was also head of the premership at the same time.
