Smith To Toon? | Jones’ Tribute to United

Tag: Daily RoundupRed Ranter @ 10:00

I’ll keep this post small, because there is nothing spectacular to talk about. From our club’s side that is. Although, over at Highbury, things are buzzing with activity what with Henry’s apparent departure for a meagre 16 million. Well, one might argue that Ruud went for 10 and Sheva came here for 30, but Sheva went to Chelsea. Although, it’s worth noting that the Spanish seem to pay way less in relation to English clubs.

Anyway, expect optimistic Arsenal fans to draw parallels with Ruud’s exit and the way we were written off. Even the pattern we mentioned a few posts back seems to be in their favor! Damn!

Rio On MLS, CL Seeding, Torres and Darren Ferguson

Sky Sports reports that Rio Ferdinand wouldn’t be interested in a move to Major League Soccer, because he can’t imagine leaving his family back home. Of course, when the headline read “Rio Rules out MLS move”, I was wondering if I had missed something. Anyway, it was a casual question put to him to which he answered in the negative.

I’d want him to play for us for as long as he physically can. His pace, assurance and composure, while making those tackles in the box, is priceless. He has had moments in the past where he’d just go off to sleep, but we saw very little of that last season. Of course, the presence of Vidic also makes life easier for him.

Transfer Rumours: Bardsley to Everton/Ibrahimovic

It’s been a quiet couple of days and papers seem to have gone quiet as far as our club is concerned. Only Quagliarella remains on the radar while most tabloids seem happy to feast on Arsenal with the La Liga finally over. Sometimes you have to feel for them, because the Spanish tabloids seem to have gone into overdrive while there seems to be no end to Henry’s whining and declaration of love towards Dein. Not even Tom Cruise went so overboard in his public displays of love for Katie, but then I digress.

Hargreaves Facts / Nani’s Goal / And Other News Updates

Tag: Daily RoundupRed Ranter @ 3:10

Hello people.

Lots of tiny bits and pieces of news and non-news floating around. Plenty of activity did happen over the past few days making us people overuse our keyboards for writing articles and posts. Poor keyboards. Must be begging for constant pounding with Counterstrike and FIFA 07 (or Pro-Evolution) games rather than Man United blog posts.

Anyway, let’s get on with the backlog of news that got left out in the heated discussions of our transfer activity.

Man Utd Headlines 31 May 2007

Tag: Daily RoundupRed Ranter @ 17:48

On the day dominated by hard and mad transfer activity the headlines will surely be no different. We might have found the odd news snippet outside Nani, Hargreaves and Anderson, but there isn’t much else other than these to write about.

We have discussed the transfer deals in detail here and here. Go ahead and read them for the detail.

For the low attention span people, here is the roundup of United’s news headlines for the day.

Man Utd Headlines 27 May 2007

Back to the roundup of the day where we go around feeding off scraps from newspapers and rags alike. Although we avoid the rags. (even though we secretly like some of them… you know, guilty pleasures)

Anyway, here are the some of the news stories of the day…

Man Utd Headlines: 26 May 2007

Good morning people, depending on where you are. Another day to get by, but I assure you, there is at least one piece of news worth talking about for a United fan. Other than that there wouldn’t be much coming your way today.

So here we go with our daily round up…

We have been rather quiet on the news front. You can’t really blame us for that. We can talk about only what is reported in the media. Although if you do in fact get to know something fresh and hot worth talking about you could tip us off using the contact form provided. Make sure you let us know the source so that we’re sure if it is reasonably authentic. We’ll gladly report that bit of news giving you due credit.

But as things stand now, here’s the little that’s come up over the last couple of days.

Man Utd Headlines: 21 May 2007

Another day dawns. The gut still feels a bit sore after the FA Cup loss, but it has mostly healed to a great degree, thanks to the Premiership crown. But with lack of inactivity football-wise, the head now seems to feel sore. Long summer beckons. Maybe watching a second string Brazil side play the Copa America might help, but I digress.

Anyway here are the Man Utd stories of the day. The stories that I felt worth discussing that is.

Man Utd Stories of the Day

Tag: Daily RoundupRed Ranter @ 15:22

Folks, we must admit we’ve just come back from possibly the longest break since this blog started. In case you’re wondering, no. We haven’t lost interest. Just that now, that the season is over there is really precious little to write about. Even the media has gone relatively quite. Unless of course, if you are reading TribalFootball. They are blessed with a sixth sense that we mortals do not possess. So let’s get on with the mere scraps of news that we get to read, shall we?
