Dear England fans,
I am sorry for what happened yesterday. I am sure it wouldn’t have been easy. Seeing a team, as fancied as yours, getting knocked out of a showpiece event would make your summers quite hard to negotiate. But let’s not talk too much about next summer. Let’s talk about the present.
It must be slightly unnerving seeing a team managed by the Clown. You couldn’t be blamed for it, could you? After all you were clamouring for a foreign manager, after the sacking of Sven. Or was it English? Bah! I forget.

As football fans we follow our club(s) very closely and it’s a natural consequence that we have strong opinions about how things should be done - tactics, transfers, formations, etc.
It’s easy to pit your skills against the computer in games like Fifa 07, Pro Evolution Soccer or Football Manager, but the real test comes when you have to put your money where your mouth is and go up against real people managing clubs just like you.
Short of the real thing (boy would it be good to be manage a club for real or what?), the best thing I’ve found so far is Online Football Manager (the guys we have sponsoring Red Rants).
It’s simple and addictive yet doesn’t take up all the time in the day (like Football Manager used to do before I burned my copy) - a few minutes each day spent managing your teams (you can play more than one league at the same time if you’re a premium season ticket holder) is enough to be on your way.
If you haven’t so far, make sure you give OFM a spin.
And if you’re looking for some tips and suggestions on how to win in OFM, read these articles and especially the comments on them.
No premier league games last weekend. Nothing to report. We can only wait to see how the return of Ronaldo affects (positively) the way the team plays. Since this is slow news time, as far as Manchester United are concerned, (yes, we had that interesting tidbit from SAF about Stam and Beckham, but tell us something we don’t already know!) I present an article which otherwise would not have merited much attention. Namely, what I feel about certain people replacing SAF when he decides to retire.

Groann. So I suspect you might have been already sick and tired of my kit posts. But I guess we can never really have enough of them, can we? So here is the video of the kit launch and photoshoot, complete with player sound bytes. And some words from the designers.
The video was a mostly good natured one, with players especially Rooney in full flow trying pranks on Rio and Neville. The kit shoot, of course was before Nani, Anderson and Hargreaves arrived in OT. So don’t expect the new lads in the shoot.
Anyway, I shouldn’t be boring you. So here’s the video. [via Manunitedpies.]

Manchester United have just launched their Japanese website (and the Chinese and Korean versions).
Now they are reports that they plan to launch a Hindi web-site next year. Followed by a Portuguese one the year after that. The Urdu website will be launched the year after that.

Summer times can be happy times for some, but not quite the same for the football fan. So here we have something to cheer you up just a bit. In this column we will feature lookalikes of Man United players. We can’t promise you about being regular with them, but we’ll keep them coming in as and when we find some good ones along the way.
While we hope this kind of thing will cheer you up, there is also the odd grouch we have to insure against so here is the mandatory disclaimer: We are not responsible if you don’t find this funny, and will be pleased if you liked them. So on that hypocritical note, let’s get on with it.
Today we have a look alike of Nani. Here’s the clue: He loves his crotch, he loves children and he is very famous! (The last one was a bad clue, but the first two are enough.) Picture after the jump… (A sorry for people reading this off feed readers)
