Who Is The ‘Manchester United’ Of Australian Soccer Teams

Tag: General Football @ 8:03 am

Manchester-United-v-Manchester-City (1)Who is the Manchester United of Australia soccer? It’s an interesting question, given Man U’s reputation. Manchester United is easily one of the most popular soccer teams in the world, and it has fans everywhere. If an Australia team can measure up, it means that they too share a rabid fan base. Establishing just who is the best team in the country is a contentious process, and one that will undoubtedly get many soccer fans mad. As a hypothetical question, though, it is interesting. Who, after all, can really measure up to a team that is that famous across the world?

In terms of success and fan appeal, it seems that Melbourne Victory probably clinches the top spot as Australia’s big team. It certainly has the most championships in the national league, and it has enough fans that they tend to dominate any online conversations about Australian soccer. It’s just as easy to say, though, that Manchester United is still the Manchester United of Australia, though. They’re incredibly popular in the country, and any local appearance by the team is sure to sell out quickly. Popularity isn’t confined to one nation, after all – but if you’re going local, you’re going to Melbourne.

In the end, though, it doesn’t matter which team is really the best – it changes every year, and most people don’t have the luxury of always being right. What really matters is how fans support their team, and how they show it. There are fans of soccer clubs all over Australia that might not be behind the biggest or the best, but they’re certainly just as loud and proud as supporters of any other club. That’s what makes soccer so special, and what makes so many fans look for ways to engage in activities that will show exactly how much they love their team.

One of the most common ways that fans show just who they support is, perhaps surprisingly, online casino games. Over the past few years  online casino games have become very popular in Australia and supporters of various clubs play these games, some for pure entertainment purposes  and others to fund their favorite football teams and to get the funds so watching their favorite teams becomes a reality.

There are soccer clubs of all sizes in Australia, and it seems safe to say that it’s the fans, not the size of the club, that matters. Supporters go all out to show that their teams are the best, and that support has made its way into the online gaming sphere. If you really want to show that you are a fan of the best team in Australia, it’s a great idea to register a name and to take a look at what online games are out there. Being affiliated to the online gaming world, will give you the opportunity to not only fund your betting, but you will be able to buy all the latest apparel as well as tickets to live games and especially  show your support to all your soccer hero’s live.

Spain Gets A Samba Sized Dose Of Humility

imageBlame it on Rio? Nope, I say you blame it on arrogance, Spanish arrogance to be precise. It warms the cockles of my heart to see Spain and their boring overrated “Tiki Taka” get their asses handed to them on silver platter from a Brazilian side that just inspires me and makes me love the game of football.

Spain, like Barcelona, have been stuck in their dogmatic style of play while relying on too many players from their old guard who I feel should be shown the door so that younger and better players like Thiago and David De Gea can get their well deserved turn to star.

Ravel Morrison Returns

Ravel Morrison is facing further turbulence in his troubled career after it emerged that Lee Clark wants to send him back to parent club West Ham.

Clark, the Birmingham manager, is already losing patience with the controversial midfielder and is keen to strike a deal with Sam Allardyce and cut his loan move short in January.

Morrison, 19, joined the Championship club on loan in August but has frustrated Clark with his general attitude and alleged lack of commitment in training. The former Manchester United trainee has not been included in Birmingham’s first-team squad for the last three matches and has made only one start in the league.

Community Shield Up for Grabs as Chelsea Take on Manchester City

Tag: General Football @ 12:00 pm

Football fans will get their first indication of what to expect from the coming Premier League season, as title holders Manchester City take on European champions Chelsea at Villa Park.

The FA Community Shield is the traditional curtain raiser to the English season, as the league champions take on the FA Cup holders.  This year though, that means that two of the Premier League favourites go head to head.  In reality, it is difficult to see beyond Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United in the Premier League betting.  With two of those sides clashing for the season’s first piece of silverware, the Community Shield will be an intriguing affair.

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has enjoyed a summer of stability so far.  There have been no significant additions to his squad, although there is more than enough talent at Mancini’s disposal already.  With the likes of Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez, Mario Balotelli and Eden Dzeko in the squad, the question for Mancini will be which of his riches to select.  That decision may be made a little easier, with Balotelli and David Silva still regaining full fitness following a post-Euro 2012 break.

Chelsea fans meanwhile will be eager to catch a glimpse of new signings such as the Brazilian Oscar and Belgian maestro Eden Hazard. The people that will look for the premier league betting will find this is as one of the hardest for betting. Both arrive with big reputations and are expected to add significant creative talent to Roberto Di Matteo’s side.  Breaking through the shackles of a Manchester City midfield including the impressive Yaya Toure will be a stern early test for Chelsea’s new boys.  Di Matteo will also be hopeful that this season signals a new beginning for Spanish striker Fernando Torres, who enjoyed a positive Euro 2012 following a torrid time last season.
