Wayne Rooney will wear the No. 10 shirt from next season.
While practically numbers don’t really matter, we all as fans understand the subtle significance. A number 10 especially can be a stamp of confidence from a manager to a player, which can egg him on to better things, and give him a sense of responsibility.

Dong Fangzhou - A player who sacrificed two and a half years before he could get a work permit and play in England. Everyone knows that his signing is a stunt by United to capture the Chinese market. Many fans don’t want him to play for United. We understand that. Part of that is because no one have ever seen how he played for Royal Antwerp. The following video illustrates that he is decently athletic and has a decent shot. He should be loaned to some Premiership club or Championship club to see how he can really fare. Loaning out in England has helped with Foster, Evans, Bardsley and Simpson. He might be moulded into a decent striker who when returns to United can sit on the bench whenever required, play in the cups and otherwise help the reserves, only with more confidence.

Giuseppe Rossi and Nani went head on head in the U21 game between Portugal and Italy - here are a few videos from the match:

It may have come to your notice that we hadn’t put up goal videos of Rossi and Nani’s goals in the U21 Championships. Pity they had to save their best till the very last when things were out of their hands. Both players featured in thumping wins, but were knocked out of the Championship.
Seriously you’d have to feel for them, when Kieran Richardson gets to play more in the tournament.
Oh well, goal videos after the jump.

In the last month I was reading all these comments about why should Saha leave, how he is injury prone and why we need a new striker. I am not going to argue whether we need a new striker or not, but I am going to argue in regards of the qualities of Saha and why I think that he is a great player and he shouldn’t be sold.

Every day, Manchester United is linked to another striker.
One day its Samuel Eto’o, the next day its Fernando Torres, and the next day its Javier Saviola. All of these strikers would be excellent additions to Man Utd, but are they really worth the expensive transfer fees that they will command? Other than Eto’o, the answer is no.
So why not stick with what you have? Give Giuseppe Rossi a chance to keep the striker spot at Man Utd. Because it would be his first time in the starting XI on a regular basis, he should play as the supporting striker to Wayne Rooney. Both he and Rooney could thrive in their new posistions.

Close on the heels of Smith’s uncertainty at United comes another set of conflicting reports, this time about Saha’s injury.
Well, at least we have something to talk about.
(You see, I am an optimist)
Anyway, onto the story after the jump.

The first part of this post will have a lot of gloating. Be Afraid. Very, very afraid!
Manutd.com has finally broken its silence on the Heinze situation. In fact, Gaby Heinze has himself broken the silence over the situation. More on that and a little bit on Real Madrid today.

There are a some more bits of news that wasn’t talked about in the last post but well, I am not going to be covering everything in this post too, and a few more posts may even follow after this.
As some regular readers may have noticed, our daily “Man Utd Headlines of the Day” post isn’t quite daily enough. I think it has more to do with the rather bad post headline it creates, especially if you want to dig through our archives. So while we will still continue to cover club related news daily, the Headlines of the Day type of a post title will be used less often.
Anyway. Back to the news.
