Manchester City have confirmed they have completed the signing of Manchester United defender target John Stones on August 9, Tuesday.

The 22-year-old left Everton and made a switch to the Etihad, signing a six-year deal with Pep Guardiola’s side. Before he joined City, he was also a target for their local rivals as the Sun reported that the England international was wanted by the Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho, who is an admirer of the central defender.

United manager is looking to further strengthen his side’s back four for the 2016-17 Premier League season, having already added Eric Bailly to the squad.

However, Stones decided to join City as he became their eighth signing of the current summer transfer window. They have already added Ilkay Gundogan, Nolito, Aleksandar Zinchenko, Aaron Mooy, Leroy Sane, Gabriel Jesus and Marlos Moreno this summer.

A statement on City’s official website read, ” Manchester City are delighted to announce the permanent transfer of John Stones from Everton. The England international defender has signed a six-year deal which will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until at least 2022.”

Stones will wear No 24 shirt at City and he explains why he decided to join the former Barcelona manager at the Etihad. He also went on to thank Everton and wished them lick for the upcoming campaign.

Futures of Manchester United star duo and Januzaj revealed

Juan Mata will continue at Manchester United beyond the summer transfer window and will not be sold by Jose Mourinho, reports Sky Sports.

The Spain international was ostracized by manager Mourinho during their time at Chelsea, with the latter eventually selling the Spaniard to the Red Devils in the 2014 January transfer window. The 53-year-old replaced Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford earlier in May and following his appointment, there were concerns over Mata’s future with his current employers.

There is no dearth of number 10s in United team, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Wayne Rooney’s almost certain to be the first choice central attacking midfielders. He can also play on the right side of the wings as that is where Van Gaal deployed him for the majority of the last season.

Mata’s departure stories were fuelled recently as Mourinho subbed him of at Wembley after just 27 minutes of stay on the pitch. United manager later played down the incident though. The former Chelsea star is expected to be an inverted wing forward in Mourinho’s 4-2-3-1 system.

Sky Sports also reveals that German veteran midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has no future at Old Trafford, as the 34-year-old seems to  have already played his last match for the Premier League giants.

There are offers in the table from several clubs for Schweinsteiger and Turkish publication AMK reports that Galatasaray may make an approach for the World Cup winning defender if they fail to land Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva.

Sky Sports also report that Belgian winger Adnan Januzaj  is expected to go out on loan spell again as  Mourinho believes the 21-year-old would benefit from  first team football elsewhere.

Mourinho explains plans for Pogba, wage details revealed

Paul Pogba landed in Manchester yesterday to complete a medical ahead of his return to the club from Juventus and is now officially a Manchester United player, as he has signed a five year deal.

United manager Jose Mourinho has urged new signing  Pogba to be the fulcrum of the club for the next decade and beyond. The most drawn out transfer saga in recent football history has seen the France international becoming the most expensive footballer in the world. The Red Devils paid a fee of €105 million to the Turin club to secure his signature.

The former Real Madrid and Chelsea boss had some words of high praise for the 23-year-old French midfielder.

”Paul is one of the best players in the world and will be a key part of the United team I want to build here for the future. He is quick, strong, scores goals and reads the game better than many players much older than he is,” Mourinho told United’s official website

”At 23, he has the chance to make that position his own here over many years. He is young and will continue to improve. He has the chance to be at the heart of this club for the next decade and beyond.”

As revealed by Squawka, the Red Devils will pay Pogba an astronomical £300,000 a week wage,  including bonuses, as he is set to become the joint top-earner of the club. Pogba will earn £15.6 million annually and £78 million over the course of his five-year contract if all of the bonus payments clauses are triggered.

Pogba’s agent Mino Riola has tweeted this, as his client has become a Red Devil again.

Manchester United have confirmed they have completed the signing of Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba on Monday.

The 23-year-old has returned to Old Trafford, four years after leaving the Red Devils as a free agent in 2012. He joined the Turin club, where he established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world. He won four league titles with the Old Lady.

Pogba, who has been heavily linked with a move away from Juventus was also a target for Spanish giants Real Madrid. The Champions League winner’s coach Zinedine Zidane was also looking at the option of signing the France international in the summer transfer window, according to the Express.

However, the French midfielder snubbed a chance to join the 11-time European champions in favour of United. He has signed a five-year deal with United, with an option to further extend it by one more year.

Manchester United given permission to complete fourth summer signing

Manchester United have just confirmed that France and Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba is set to undergo medical at AON training complex and have used the hashtag ”Pogback”.

The Manchester Evening News have reported that the Serie A side Juventus  are in London for West Ham clash and their spokesman has confirmed the 23 year old midfielder has been allowed to go to Manchester to complete his transfer.

The Red Devils got £800k for Pogba from Juventus back in 2012. They are about to re-sign him for more than £100 million, which would set a new transfer record, shrouding the £86 million transfer fee that Real Madrid paid Tottenham Hotspur  for Gareth Bale back in 2013.

As quoted by BBC, Sir Alex Ferguson, the United manager at the time when Pogba left the Red Devils in 2012, said on the player’s decision: “I don’t think he showed us any respect at all so, to be honest, I’m quite happy [he is leaving].” Pogba also expressed his unhappiness over the treatment from the Manchester club.

But as they say, letting go is knowing that there is a future, hopefully Pogba and United will go on to win many Titles and accolades.
