In 1975 Admiral took over the design of the iconic Manchester United shirt. They continued until 1980, where Adidas attained the honour. But, for 5 years that striped collar and cuff ensemble was synonymous with the sexy fleet-footed wingers and the free flowing football that stole my heart and ensured I supported the Red Devils to this day. In that time Manchester United stormed the F.A.Cup, with 3 appearances in 5 years in the treasured Wembley final showpiece. This is where I learned football could cause heartbreak and where they were about to make a 9 yr old boy cry! Me… Moi…. I……

Manchester United Away Shrit 2001 - 2002

I don’t know about you but this shirt from the 2001/02 season always reminds me of Juan Sebastian Veron.

I’d be lying if I said the failure of Veron to fulful his undoubted potential at United wasn’t one of my greatest disappointments at United down the years.

When Seba signed and the season finally got under way with an opening day match against Fulham, I know I wasn’t the only one sat having a few beers before the game broadly smiling as the Argentinian style T-Shirts with ‘VERON’ emblazoned on them were being sold in the pub’s and stalls around the ground.
