Great Things Brewing In This Reds Site

Tag: Site NewsRed Ranter @ 10:10

While it’s been a pleasure writing and conversing about United all this while, through ups and downs, (thankfully, so far, there have been more ups than downs) credit must be given to the readers and commenters in this site who have made Red Rants immensely readable for more than a few United fans. (I hope I can say that without getting abuse from my readers :) ) Also thanks to some of the contributors who have chipped in with their articles here at Rants.

Now in order to make things better and more interactive we are pleased to announce a few new additions to the site. They may range from the subtle to the more conspicuous. So read on to see if these changes really interest you.

Fantasy Football - untold riches await you…

Tag: Site NewsAhmed Bilal @ 8:02

Catch the full details at Soccerlens - here’s a brief summary:

The winner of the SL group (the manager with the highest cumulative points at the end of the season) will win $1,000 plus several other gifts (including a heft gift voucher for footy shirts from Subside Sports), while the overall winner in SquadGod will win £10,000.

Not bad for playing manager, eh?

The SL prize is valid only if more than 200 members sign up - we have 60+ at present but ideally I want more than 300 people there, so hurry and sign up!

A Mini-Break

Palm TreeAlright lads, I will be on a break over the next few days. I should be back in full force by Saturday. I know, it is a tough time to be away from the blog, what with Tevez’s debut and the start of the Premiership looming. But it is a necessary break, and hence bear with me.

In the meantime, hopefully, Ahmed (or our other contributors) should fill in with a few posts. I might make a surprise appearance or two, although there are no guarantees.

Till then, I’ll leave you with Sky’s report on the game, with highlights and post match quotes from both managers. Plus there is the other video containing the team lifting the cup. Videos after the jump

Man Utd Blog 2007/2008 Home Kit

Tag: Site NewsAhmed Bilal @ 23:19

I hope you guys like the new Red Rants home kit theme. I’ve just put it live with no testing (ok, some testing), so if there are any bugs please report here in the comments.

And if you hate it, blame the Red Ranter, it was his choice!

And please take this time to suggest other improvements to Red Rants - taking over UnitedRant’s mantle as the premier Man Utd blog is not easy, you know, the blog needs your help.

The Soccerlens Forum

Tag: Site NewsRed Ranter @ 5:28

Our partner site has just launched a forum for people like you and me to continue ranting into the wee hours of the day. Of course Man United fans can start ranting over at the Manchester United thread. But you might surely like to talk about general football too.

Like, for example, flaming clubs like Chelsea and Liverpool. Or spelling Torres’ doom at Anfield. And things like that. You get my point.

Or you could go on about why Sepp Blatter needs to step down, or tell us about the latest 12 year old sensation from Peru whose dribbling is a cross between Pele and a manatee. Or something to that effect.

Now, now. I’ve given you enough ideas. Head over to the rather excellent forum, and be creative.

A Tribute to the Boss

Tag: Site NewsRed Ranter @ 12:43

When people abused him, he ignored them and let his players make them cry.

When a ‘respected pundit’ laughed at his ‘kids’, he made sure the pundit’s words would haunt him to this day.

When the world wrote him (and his team) off as a fading force, he gave them a fitting riposte; one that was delivered by his team with such force and breathtaking style.
