The Louis Saha Question and United 6-0 Newcastle Goal Videos
A quick Sunday update, including goal highlights, the latest on Louis Saha, the truth about Red Ranter’s absence and more:
Manchester United thrashed Newcastle United 6-0, with all goals coming in the second half. The two clubs could not be more different – stability vs ridiculously twitchy-fingers, strong foundations vs no base at all, and most poignantly, United are the very model of success that Newcastle aspire to.
Thanks to Steve BruceAlex McLeish and Birmingham, United are now top of the table with a way-better goal-difference.
Louis Saha is NOT out for the rest of the season, as David Gill confirms. That doesn’t mean that he’ll play for us again this season, it just means that he’s out till…his next ‘slight knock’.
Danny Simpson had a decent run-out last night, hopefully he can keep improving. There’s a reason he was kept back you know, and that’s not because Neville was injured.
A few teams, including Tottenham, have had bids accepted for Lyon’s Fred. Anyone think this 6″1′, 24-year old Brazilian is good enough to play for a team like United?
In other news…Red Ranter has successfully eloped and will be celebrating his impromptu honeymoon at 38,000 feet. He should be back online tomorrow / tonight with an update, but I imagine he’ll be too tired to post

I also wonder how he finds things out earlier than other sources like Sky or BBC. I use to listen to his transfer news every week, becasue he gets it right everytime! He is not always first up, like the Anelka rumour or Tevez transfer, but he told transfer news before Sky and BBC, when it was about Shechenko to Chelski, Henry to Berca(one week before his transfer!) and Smudge to Newcastle.
And Dan- I am not messin around. I dont like to be caled a liar. If u heard on one of ur programs that Villa or in this situation, Hunter, was on his way to United, wouldt u tell people?

Just some news that is not about Huntelaar….Fergie is mad at the BBC, because the commentator said this when Rio scored the fourth goal against Newcastle: “It’s a Manchester United romp — and they are all getting in on the act.â€
Fergis thinks he was mocking United, cause of the Christmas party(youve all heard about that one right?). He thinks it was a way to say something about the party, and in a bad manner. Read in THE SUN.

RedDevil Fergie has been mad at the BBC for around 4 years now, because the BBC gave his son a bad reputation. He hasn’t done any interviews for the BBC for a while now, that’s why. Let’s wait and see if huntelaar will be as good as we all hope, he’s a goalscorer no doubt, and we can use that.

I still think that Carrick/Anderson is a better partnership than Hargo/Anderson (and even Carrick/Hargo). This is not claiming anything about which player is better than which, just that I think that combination is better. From what I’ve seen this season, when Carrick gets crouded, Anderson shines, and vica versa. When they both get crouded, there’s lots of space for the attacking players…

RedDevil- I am also from Norway, and watched eurogoals today early. The commentator said: “A deal had been agreed, but he might not come until summer. According to my sources he will cost them around 150 mill kroner(£14 mill).” Would love the Hunter to come in January, but cant see it happen. United need a striker, but they should get a cheap one. Farfan of PSV is a 23 years old winger, but has said time and time again that he favores to play stiker. Fast, tall, strong shot and positiones himself great. Not more than 10 mill. Quagliarella is available again. Di Natale is a great striker in a good price. Podolski, Jones of Sundeland and Ashton are all good strikers than can be used when called upon.
And about that commentator. He also said that Quaresma was on his way to the Premiership, Benzema will be sold soon for a HUGE prize and that Podolski wants to leave, and hes said that he wants to move to his boyhood club: MANCHESTER UNITED! Hes my fave striker outside United. Young, Fast, great finishing, can be used as a left winger and “Scholes role”, behind striker. He is like van Persie and Drogba in one player. And Bayern will sell him for £7-£10 mill. Hes only 22 by the way!

Karl: Totally agree about the Carrick + Anderson partnership being the best. I think Hargo should be used in bigger games when we need to shut the other team down(eg. Milan last year). With Carrick and Anderson we have a much better attack, and Hargo can recover from all of his injury problems.

If Bayern sell Podolski for 10m they must be brain-dead. The kid is a diver but he’s strong and very talented, so would be a steal for any club.

Podolski hasnt been getting any playing time for Bayern in the last six months, so no surprise he wants to leave. But I still think 10 mill is too little for a player that has been crowned the best young player of World Cup 2006. Great if he doesnt cost more!

I’ve been following the Huntelaar situation for a long time now.. And no, absolutely no site (rumour and news based) have reported anything about Huntelaar’s done deal… All Im getting is gilberto, the Hertha Left back..

About Huntelaar, I just want to apologise to everybody that thought that their dreams had come true. I just want to clear this up:I DID NOT MAKE THE STORY UP! I just wrote what I heard. I an dissapointed myself! And besides, if any of you had heard on one of ur program that either Villa, Berbatov or Miguel Veloso had signed for United before everybody else knew, wouldnt u post it? I just wanted to bring, what I thought, the happy news to u all before everybody else. And about Podolski, I would love to have him in the side. I’m sorry but Podolski’s goalscoring record has been woeful since he went to Bayern, he was managed by 3 different managers during this time and still didn’t get regular playing time. He played the first 15 matches for Bayern when he came and scored something like 3 goals, and didn’t perform well in the matches either. And then after that he couldn’t get in the side ahead of a certain Claudio Pizzaro who can’t get in the team of Kalou, or ahead of a terribly out of form Roy Makaay. I think he was just an over-hyped player who had a good World Cup.
And RedDevil 2 things: One, if I hear something like that on the tv personally I’d just brush it off as a rumour and move on, but you’ve got every reason to believe the commentator, and two, Gilberto may be the first choice left back but that’s because there are a severe lack of brazilian left backs, and he’s 30, so he wouldn’t be a great investment, a more than decent back up for Evra though.
Dan, it’s not that hard to go up the page and read your comments, you said “reddevil is meesin us about, there is no huntelaar deal. fcukin dickhead.” Thats name calling.

I dont know why Podolski is not a regular for Bayern anymore. He still plays great for Germany and scores hell alot of goals! And last season Bayern finished fourth or fifth, scoring very few goals. Their top scorer had only 14 goals, I believe. And if 20 of ur 22 games is as a substitute, the only player u can complain to for not scoring enough goals is 20LEgend. Podolski doesnt get great service at Bayern. He would have that in United. And if he doesnt cost more than Norry said, its defo worth a gamble. Since being a boyhood United fan(really Norry, havent heard that?), not gettin any games for Beyern and being first choice striker for Germany, I think he would fit in well.

Just something to ask here, will the blues signing of Ivanovic come back to haunt us? I mean, is he that good and should we have made an attempt to sign him or are there other players out there that can come in and make an bigger impact than him? I already know of Lahm, but is there any chance that Bayern will sell.
From what I heard gilberto isnt exactly the first choice, but will do. And for his age, it kinda worries me that we could be buying another injury prone player. I will admit though that i know NOTHING of him as a player, so all injury worried are purely speculation based on his age. It would gut me to think that we lose the any of the trophies in the second half because someone like evra or oshea gets injured and we dont have any cover.

Saha is the worsed player i have seen in a Manchester United shirt, and that is no joke, he has pace, but thats all he has, he gets in some awful possitions, he has the touch of a rapist and he couldn’t finish his tea, personally i don’t see what anyone can see in such a bad player, he is a championship player and no more then that, next time we have an away cup tie, at say colchester or a lower team, fergie should leave him at the ground we just played at, honestly i wouldn’t want money for him, i’d just get rid of him anyway i could, he’s such a bad player, we need a good striker such as, Fred, Berbatov, Benzema, or even James Bettie but anyone is better then Saha in my opinion.
