If he is to be retained as a backup to Evra I would rather see him leave because coming off the bench or during injuries I don't see him playing his best. However, if SAF feels that he will have some semblance of regular run in the team next year we should definitely retain him. After all, he is still amongst our most experienced defenders and has the fighting spirit that lends a solidity to the backline.
