Today’s Videos: Heinze’s Goal | Beckham Mania
Morning everyone. Nothing much to report today apart from the tiring Tevez saga as usual. But we do have a couple of videos that you could while your time away with.
Just so that you know, Gabby Heinze scored a nice goal against Mexico yesterday as Argentina beat them 3-0 in the Copa America semi-final. They now face Brazil in what would certainly be a tasty affair. In other news, Gerard Pique scored for Spain in their 4-2 win against Brazil in the U-20 world cup. I really hope we give the kid a decent run this season.
Anyway on to the videos…
The first one was Heinze’s well taken goal, off-balance.
This is an ad by ESPN that’s just to give you a sample of the hype that’s built up around Beckham by the American media. Imagine the disappointment if the Americans thought he was expected to score goals in every game and dribble past players like Ronaldinho.
That thought really cracks me up. Anyway, here you go:
And finally a bonus clip here. This one involves a prospective United player in Carlos Tevez, but the focus of attention here is none other than Lionel Messi. Sometimes when you see greatness in the making, you will have to give it. He’s done the Maradona goal already, and this exquisite chip reminds you of Cantona’s or, more recently, Rooney’s chip last season against David James.
Barcelona are truly blessed!

Just hope that thier expectations from Beckham won’t put the American public off football

American youth love ‘football’. It’s the advertising /commercial industry that has a problem with it. See, that can’t change the sport to make thier money like they have others…(just my thoughts on it)

Tevez’s performance was good but was really overshadowed by Messi…that kid really is going to do big things…he is really up there at the top among the young players in the world now..or may be among the players in the world now….

I know it will never happen but could you imagine United with Messi playing up front with Rooney and Ronaldo? If I were SAF, I’d break the bank to get him. His is that sublime.

the saga looks to be coming to a close:

I think we finally got him, he’s about to get a medical next week and unveiled as a man u player. He’s on an initial loan deal and the a permanent deal for £30million. Does anybody think the price is a bit too high??

not sure abt the validity of this news and if it is, what impact may it be on the tevez saga..joorabchian arrest warrant issued by a judge in Brazil on money-laundering issues tied to his MSI company and Corinthians

I’d LOVE to have Tevez playing for us.
However, I must admit that the price is a bit high. My understanding is:
£6mil p/a x2
£4.5mil salary x2
£30mil permanent
—–
£51mil + new salaries

Then again, like I said before, we’re not managers. If SAF and the Glazers think its a good deal…then why not?
