United to overpay for Valencia this week?
The Mirror carries the story today according to which, Antonio Valencia flew in last night for a medical to sign for United. It’s only the Mirror that’s running the story, sans quotes, but considering the Ronaldo transfer was confirmed at the end of last week, it was only a matter of time this happened.
The sum quoted is £16m which is what I have a problem with. Personally, any sum over £12-14m is too much for a winger who’s been consistent, but not outstanding. True, he’s an out and out winger and does give us some width.
But his stats don’t necessarily pop out to hold anyone’s fancy. I would hope this is only a straight buy, unlike other media sources that revolved around using Nani as a makeweight in the deal; that, to me, would be unacceptable because despite his reduced appearances last season he deserves a season where he’s given the chance to express himself and step out of Ronaldo’s massive shadow. He may never come close to Ronaldo’s ability, but he still deserves a chance.
Valencia again, might be a player that hugs the touchline and tries to cross it in, but our system has evolved to the extent that we don’t really have a striker that lurks in and around the box. Berbatov may have been bought for that purpose, but his lack of pace makes it difficult to have him in the area during a counter. I would pitch for Huntelaar, but there seems to be very little talk about the Dutchman. And I think Ferguson might opt for giving the likes of Macheda and Welbeck more of a chance the next season.
Valencia might be an improvement over Park or a now past-it Ryan Giggs (at least as a winger), but he’s an expensive one at that. But then, we seem to be having little options in the market with players either pricing themselves out of a move or just declaring their interest to play for Madrid.
I hope he turns out to be a great buy; to be honest, the compilation video (not that they are the final say on any player) show him to be a more direct player. It will be great to be proved wrong on him. But for now I’m not sure I can say I’m overjoyed by this transfer. I’m sure I may be stuck up in the ‘we-need-a-Ronaldo-type-player’ mode, but there are so little of them around these days. I believe Ferguson will change the system to a more orthodox 4-4-2 system now.

In other news, Rooney, in an interview with the Times has made it clear that he’s ready to flourish if he gets a more central role — which is his preferred role.
The confidence in the lad is good to see, and I’m sure the manager sees it too, but has perhaps been hamstrung by the need of his system, which sought to accommodate Ronaldo. Now that he’s gone, I see SAF go out of his way to satisfy Rooney. If he does that and stays injury free, I can see Rooney help shoulder a burden of our goals.
We have also been linked to Sergio Aguero, and his release clause is well within our reach. I like the player, but with Berbatov and Rooney expected to partner upfront, Aguero might be bought to provide a creative spark in a wide floating role behind the strikers — if at all he’s bought.
And that should wrap it up for today. Updates, if any, on the Valencia transfer will be added to this post. So watch this space.

It’s a bout time Fergie recognizes that Rooney is a striker and needs to be played as such..
..s’far as Valencia is concerned, what impressed me from those video wasn’t the shots or the tricks, but his cut back crosses to the 2nd wave of attackers rushing into the box.
a lot of us assume crossing solely means getting the ball to where the striker can get a head to it, but crosses played along the ground are a better fit in our counter attacking offense, an Valencia looks to be good at that.
anyhow.. he’s over priced, but we’re united… and Sergio would be nice, but not at the expense of Rooney playing central.
a healthy, central Rooney will get us 30+ goals this season, guaranteed

RESPONSE TO GROGNARD FROM LAST POST
About valencia being strictly a winger.
No, hes not grognard. I remember when we put our original bids in earlier, a south american correspondent for sky sports described him for us, and he said he could play in all those positions. At first i didnt believe him, then i saw an ecuador match, where he SS.
Im right about this, trust me.
June 29th, 2009 at 7:53
I wont judge valencia until he plays with us, we paid 18mil for carrick did anyone think he was worth it then? No.
June 29th, 2009 at 7:54
Well I for one don’t mind a more conventional winger like AV. As long as he is not the only signing, he’ll hopefully be a more consistent addition to the squad. Of course, besides the almost-inevitable AV, Kun would be perfect for us to salivate over until we start the tour!
June 29th, 2009 at 7:59
Man I’ve got all my RSS feeds set up and ready to go! It’s like midnight where I am and I just hope something happens today…
June 29th, 2009 at 8:23
SAF obviously sees something in Valencia, if indeed it is Valencia that is on the point of signing, and not some other mysterious (escaped the press notice) dude! The Mirror headline was 16 million, but the small print in the article said 15.25 million, so guesswork going on. From the video, he seems to be able to decision make quickly at speed, the right decisions. However video snippets are there just to showpiece the best bits, so we wait and see, and live in hope if he is bought!
June 29th, 2009 at 8:34
Leave the rest to Fergie and just sit back and enjoy.
June 29th, 2009 at 9:12
If he gets the number 7 shirt I will burn my season ticket and watch Rochdale next season.
June 29th, 2009 at 9:35
Personally I like Valencia. He is a real winger, just like Nani. He is also pretty good at tackling, something I feel people dont give him enough credit for. He tracks back a lot, and is good in stoppin oppositions attack. Therefor he has also been used in a DM position before. Not his best position, but he was decent against. I really hope he and Nani are our first choice wingers next season, cause I can see us getting a lot of goals from crosses. I have noticed that Valencia is very unpredictable in his crossing, so they may come low and high. Which gives us another dimension, cause Rooney is very good at getting on the end of low crosses! And if Carrick continues with his Scholes-esque runs into the box next season he might score a few headers from a Nani or Tony cross. Hope we get him, cause he seems great!
June 29th, 2009 at 9:37
BTW, Ive changed the tune of my Nani vid. After that video, I got a new idea. So the Nani lifestory vid may be up during today…
June 29th, 2009 at 9:37
@Stephen: Wow, I somehow never thought of the possibility! That IS amusing…well after being insane.
June 29th, 2009 at 9:59
@TurkishRED: It is a concern I musy say, 7 goals in 84 games for Wigan, in 4 seasons seems another midfield player who is incapable of scoring.
I never see the point of bringing another “body” will he improve our squad? I don’t think so, give me Nani any day of the week.
June 29th, 2009 at 10:28
Nani down one wing, Valencia down the other
Rooney through the Center plus Fabio and his brother,
Carrick sat in the middle whilst Hargreaves provides cover,
With Vida and Rio bringing up the rear, who says this can’t be Uniteds Year?
June 29th, 2009 at 10:42
@TurkishRED: Kun is a great player but he is 5′7, are we going back to our Umpa-Lumpa’s again?, with him and Rooney up front what are Nani and Valencia suppose to hit?
It also begs the question what will happen to Berbatov, I cannot see him content on warming the bench, unless he plays Rooney out wide…………
June 29th, 2009 at 11:12
Sky sports reporting that Valencia is at Carrington having a medical. Looks like this one is real. I’m stoked, just the type of player we’ve developped a reputation for turning from decent premiership into top 4 quality. Good attitude, good pace – think it’s a wise move.
Not marquee though.
June 29th, 2009 at 12:14
I like the signing, as long as it isn’t nearing £20m. £16m would be perfect.
June 29th, 2009 at 12:28
Anybody happen to know if the tickets for the Valencia game at OT on August 5th are on sale yet, or when they will be on sale – please?
June 29th, 2009 at 12:30
With the inclusion of Valencia to our squad and Rooney making promises to step up as our main goalscorer, I still think we will be short in front of goal. I think the maximum our players can give us in terms of goals are: Rooney(25), Berbatov(20) and the rest including Valencia(30). Thats a total of 75 goals and thats only if they give their all. The club of our standard needs to score more than 100 Goals at the least.
Therefore i think that we definetly not finished in the Transfer market and we need a striker, a winger and maybe a midfielder. Huntelaar, David Slva and Felipo Melo would make us a strong force again. Even if we buy these players how are we gonna accomodate them. PLEASE DONT PUT ROONEY OUT WIDE!!!
June 29th, 2009 at 12:41
oh thank god

June 29th, 2009 at 12:42
Valencia is in Manchester according to Sky Sports. A fee of £16 million sounds alright to me, and if he completes his medical today it would be awsome!
Just hope Nani isnt part of the deal…
Some may say Valencia is too expensive, but the same thing went for Carrick in 2006, Solskjær in 1996 and Ronaldo in 2003. Maybe a pattern?
All part of not the hugest clubs in the world, to be gentle, and became superstars at this club, Naybe Valencia is the solution, I dunno. The future will tell…
June 29th, 2009 at 12:45
YESSS!!!
Lads, I finished my Nani video! Its probably one of the best Ive ever created, better than the Ronny and Wazza vid, if I may say. Craig, you are up for a surprise!
I finished it just now, but it will take some time to upload to Youtube. I will post a link as soon as its on, and I promise it will happen today.
June 29th, 2009 at 12:47
In the gaffer we must trust. I have not seen a lot of Valencia but from what I saw, he is a very wide player. He hugs the wing and crosses exceptionally. If he is our only signing (something I do not see happening), we will have a classic 4-4-2 because we will not have the players to play anything else.
Still, there is a lot to go in the transfer window (which hasn’t even opened yet).
June 29th, 2009 at 12:47
I think when you consider what Liverpool paid for Glen Johnson the figure for valencia is pretty reasonable
June 29th, 2009 at 12:52
Seems like we’re preparing for traditional 442 next season with Nani and Valencia down the wings ???
June 29th, 2009 at 13:03
@Paul (No1Fan): Glen Johnson is a fantastic right-back. Not sure if he is worth 18 million (14 or 15 sounds reasonable), but I wouldn’t have complained if United had bought him.
June 29th, 2009 at 13:10
@RedDevilEddy: We only paid £1.5m for Ole, nobody complained about his fee mate.
Carrick I still feel was too much money and paying £12.6m for a 17 year old in Ronaldo’s case at the time seemed incredible, but worth the money in hindsight.
June 29th, 2009 at 13:12
@Karl: Sounds like it I suppose, but with one of my previous posts that would depend on what striker we acquire.
June 29th, 2009 at 13:28
@RedDevilEddy:
, cometh the hour, cometh the man, can’t wait to see this work of art Eddi
.
June 29th, 2009 at 13:33
Okay, I found out the tickets are on sale. So that should be a good pre season curtain opener at OT before the charity shield against Chelski at Wembley.
June 29th, 2009 at 13:33
“I AM NANI!!!”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3d2VEkbAnG0
June 29th, 2009 at 13:39
for me is just to wait and see. theres definately something fergy sees in him we dont, fergy already sees the big picture and he knows what he needs to complete his team. so valencia mioght jus proove a carrick esq type of player, no hype or making media headlines, but knowing what they are supposed to do and do it well. Bout the fee, I think its reasonable considering what players are going for this summer plus the usual united tax.
June 29th, 2009 at 13:48
@RedDevilEddy: that video is brilliant, but im intrigued, what system do you play Fifa on? cos i’ve got it on ps3 and every time i try tricks like that i go arse over ball more often than not. whats the secret?
June 29th, 2009 at 13:53
@Will: Thanks mate!
I play on Xbox 360, and I dont have any particular secret. Its just that I practice, and Ive played FIFA for a long time.
But if you fall on your arse every time you try a trick, you should consider the body movement of the player in possession and judge the trick on that.
June 29th, 2009 at 14:01
@RedDevilEddy: great video mate!!
I’m sure Craiggy is watchin that video on loop, beading out tears of joy… unless he’ll have commented on it by now
or maybe he’s just speechless
that’s how Nani makes him feel, speechless
(anyone notice the MJ pun??
)
June 29th, 2009 at 14:04
@RedDevilEddy: Eddi mi man you have excelled yourself with this video mate
. However I would like it if you change the dedication to all Nani fans, because I feel a bit stupid with just me up in lights
. There are a lot of dedicated Nani fans besides me. Will it be a problem to change the dedication to include ALL Nani fans? Thanks for the compliment by the way.
June 29th, 2009 at 14:05
@Gabriel:
.
June 29th, 2009 at 14:06
@Craig Mc: You are the biggest Nani fan I know mate, so you deserve it!
Glad you liked it, cause I enjoyed making it. Lesson from making the vid? Nani is one hell of a FIFA 09 player!!!
I really, realy, really hope he doesnt leave now…
June 29th, 2009 at 14:09
@Gabriel:
XD
Hillarious man, but Im happy you enjoyed it.
June 29th, 2009 at 14:15
WOW! @RedDevilEddy: You are way good at FIFA. Nice vid
June 29th, 2009 at 14:17
@RedDevilEddy: Lets hope he gets opportunities next season, and reproduces the form and tricks you have shown FOR REAL eh?
June 29th, 2009 at 14:29
@RedDevilEddy: Great video.I dont play FIFA anymore,I’ve been playing Pro Evo since 2006.Nani have a really great shot there,one that swerves and make the keeper hopeless.About your vid,i was amazed at the trick nani did at 0.57 minute.How did ya do that mate?
June 29th, 2009 at 14:56
@Madschester United: Thanks mate!
June 29th, 2009 at 14:58
@Craig Mc: Yeah, I realy hope he does. He is the perfect winger, unlike Ronaldo. Beckham had the crossing ability, but was slow and didnt have much tricks. While Ronaldo wasnt very good at crossing or hugging the line. Nani has the Beckham crossing, great tricks and is fast as daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn!!!
I really hope he gets his chances, because he is an exeptional talent. “I AM NANI!”
June 29th, 2009 at 15:01
@Sunny: Get rid of PES mate, its been shit since 2005.
They dont progress, if anything they only become worse each year. Whereas FIFA are progressing hugely!
The trick at 0:57? If you mean the way I took up the ball its just hitting the LT, and holding the RB. Its pretty easy. As for the way I took the ball over Nanis head, I hold the RB button when I “walk” backwards.
June 29th, 2009 at 15:07
@Andrei: A Right back who can’t defend isn’t fantastic, mate.
June 29th, 2009 at 15:37
@RedDevilEddy: I played FIFA from 1998 to 2005.At present i am kinda addicted to PES.I know FIFA has improved a lot,but the thing about PES is i can play football in my own way.I like to experiment a lot with tactics and player movement.In FIFA,its kinda rigid.Anyway,thanx for the tip
June 29th, 2009 at 15:41
fifa is too easy for my taste, my cat can score in fifa with her legs broken and blinded as well.
June 29th, 2009 at 15:50
@Sunny: I play my own way on FIFA 09. When I play I follow the unwritten football rule which says “I`d rather lose beautifully than win ugly”. But I almost never lose though…
Ive created my unike way of playing the game, I dont follow the rules of the game. Sometimes I even break the laws of physics.
June 29th, 2009 at 15:52
@ROOOOONEY: That is on the computer and PS2. Come and try it on Xbox 360 or PS3 and you will be shocked of how difficult it actually is. RedRanter is a victim of that!
But if you find it so easy, challenge me to a game and we will see how good your cat is.
June 29th, 2009 at 15:59
I played it on ps3, the main attractive of it is the official licenses and the showboating its easy on the eye, PES is all about game play for me, my cat is pro i will have you know! and did you see how fast is berbatov in fifa its surprising. but i guess its like apples and oranges.
June 29th, 2009 at 16:04
guys, i think its time to trust some of the old players of this game and sign this guy up
http://www.goal.com/en/news/584/brazil/2009/06/29/1353676/video-ronaldo-scores-for-corinthians-in-copa-brasil-final
June 29th, 2009 at 16:11
Rumours going around my school that one of my friends and team-mates are going to United… Still only rumours, Im waiting for confirmation.
June 29th, 2009 at 16:15
@RedDevilEddy: Why is it always your mates? When are we going to see Edvard play in United colours.
June 29th, 2009 at 16:21
@RedDevilEddy: When your doing the keepy uppys in the game, how do juggle the ball with your shoulders. Thats the only trick in the game i cant do.
June 29th, 2009 at 16:22
@Red Ranter: I really dunno.
So far two strikers have left for Inter and Arsenal, now a winger/midfielder has gone to United. Oh, how I wish I wasnt a defender right now…
June 29th, 2009 at 16:22
@johnsom33: Difficult to explain, you should search for it on Youtube. Took me a while to get right…
June 29th, 2009 at 16:26
@ROOOOONEY: agreed.PES is all about playing the beautiful game in the right way.
June 29th, 2009 at 16:32
so am I mistaken in hearing on sky sports news that they have spoken to Benzema’s agent and he is currently in …. Barcelona? JESUS ARGHHHH
June 29th, 2009 at 16:34
@sig: I think the best approach to this situation is to assume he’s not coming to United. If he does, then it is a pleasant surprise (or unpleasant depending on how you view him) and if he doesn’t, then it’s far from shocking anyway.
June 29th, 2009 at 16:36
Cant say Im surprised to be honest… He is the bst Ive ever played against, he is a monster! Strong, big, fast, skillful and has the correct mentality. But he can easily get frustrated.
The next Cristiano in every way, I gotta say he is just fucking awsome! I wish him the best at United, cause he thouroghly deserves it… Top scorer, top assist and the captain of our team. Just hope he does well for us!
June 29th, 2009 at 16:38
true… just dissapointing. I have wanted him in a United shirt since we played Lyon in the champs league (plus he plays brilliantly in our team on FIFA lol). I’m not to concerned, I just want the best talent to go to the best team in the world
June 29th, 2009 at 16:43
@ROOOOONEY: Will never happen.
But I for one would love that signing, regardless os whether he is old or fat. I think our youngsters (and Wayne) can learn a lot from having him around as a substitute striker. Much like Larsson.
June 29th, 2009 at 16:45
I was joking karl
June 29th, 2009 at 16:48
@RedDevilEddy: Erm, wouldn’t he be in the news, then?
June 29th, 2009 at 16:49
Does anyone think that Rooney might be putting a little too much pressure on himself? Im all down for him if he is just super confident, but I dont want him too be bogged down with all the expectations to replace the best player in the world.
June 29th, 2009 at 16:51
@Red Ranter: He is like 15 mate…
Plus, I dunno if its perfectly confirmed yet. So far only some of my mates “know” it. It will gos silently, like it did when we got Eikrem, King and Ringberg, who is 16.
June 29th, 2009 at 16:51
@Karl: I watched him live at OT when he scored a hatrick for Real, he was absolutly amazing that day, totally unplayable such a shame about all his injuries and poor lifestyle choices a true great in the game.
June 29th, 2009 at 17:04
@Stephen: Yeah, it’s really a shame. He was truly the greatest striker in his prime. If it weren’t for his choices and injuries, I believe he could have shaken hands with the likes of Pele.
June 29th, 2009 at 17:09
@Karl: Spot on mate, he was a joy to watch that night a fantastic player.
June 29th, 2009 at 17:17
According to Fabiano’s agent (Confederations cup Golden boot winner) this tournament, the player would like to Join Man United, Milan or Barca this summer, and will cost 30 million Euro’s.
, these agents always trying to make moves for players and line their pockets, but it is good to know that the player chooses us as one of the 3 top clubs to sign for!
June 29th, 2009 at 17:27
@RedDevilEddy: Actually Ronaldo IS very good at crossing, but he’s so selfish that he would always go for a dribble and shot for himself!
June 29th, 2009 at 17:28
@RedDevilEddy: Fantastic vid mate!!
June 29th, 2009 at 17:30
@ROOOOONEY: wow that vid makes me wish i lived somewhere with a real team im in florida and the team in my town is pdl and pulls 300-500 fans a game and i know more people on the team than in the stands. would be amazing to be apart of that. ill have to settle for occasional trips to europe and south/central america
June 29th, 2009 at 17:35
@RedDevilEddy: way to go eddie
June 29th, 2009 at 17:36
@RedDevilEddy: Try applying for West Ham. Used to be a great footballing academy there – don’t know if they still are though.
Everton also are doing a great job at bringing up youth players recently.
But don’t despair if you don’t make it big immediately. Look at Ashley Young – came thorugh Bradford if I’m not mistaken.
And Ribery was an unknown quantity scooped up by Fenerbahce before Marseille took kim back to france!
So scouts can sometimes be as blind as f*ck!
June 29th, 2009 at 17:37
@NicoQB: Would rather Johnson at right back over Brown. Better to have a full-back who can’t defend than to have one who can’t attack.
Football was originally played in the 2-4-4 formation. It is only in the modern game that two from midfield and two from attack have dropped back to form the 4-4-2 formation.
June 29th, 2009 at 17:41
@Andrei: Not for £18m mate, I would rather Brown, Rafael and O’Shea who all cost nothing over Johnson.
June 29th, 2009 at 17:42
@RedDevilEddy: Actually, if you want some fachts to comfort you, just know that until Kiko and Danny, very rarely do offensive players break through at United. You’d have much greater chances of breaking through if you were a defender, as United most of the time BUY attacking talent and occasionally bring in a defender/midfielder.
June 29th, 2009 at 17:45
@Andrei: Well let’s see how a team with a 2-4-4 formation would fare in modern football!
I would much, much, much rather have Wes Brown than Johnson in my team. The only gripe I have about Wes is his injury record.
June 29th, 2009 at 18:05
Wes Brown gets injured so often because he would rather take a player out with ONE hard tackle, than let them get by him. He is massive for United, and not a dirty player, but he just goes into tackles like a ten ton truck. He 9 times out of ten comes out with the ball. Love Wes Brown, and he’s a local lad, and is Man Utd thru and thru!
June 29th, 2009 at 18:08
@Craig Mc: Well said mate he is a true Longsight boy!!
June 29th, 2009 at 18:24
@Andrei: Pity the modern game had to abandon that attack-minded formation. Today’s game in general focusses more on defending than it does on scoring goals. Quite sad actually.
June 29th, 2009 at 18:26
@Dan: Although I have never personally seen or never heard of any evidence to back up your claim I trust you Dan and so I will believe it. But trust me when I say this, Ferguson has not bought this player to play any other role than winger.
June 29th, 2009 at 18:32
@Stephen: Kun is a great player and that is all you should concern yourself with. He could be the size of a Hobbit for all I care. His game requires no height to be proficient. Again like so many others, you are stuck in the old school mentality of English football where height is important due to high crosses coming into the box. United doesn’t play like that anymore. They bring the ball up like an Italian side and penetrate with short passes through the middle. We rarely are seen crossing the ball in unless we had Ronaldo going for headers. Our game is more continental now and so sticking to that way of thinking would not work for us unless we got a wide player or two who was known for their great crossing. Only Nani is capable of crossing on our team right now.
June 29th, 2009 at 18:34
@Grognard: I agree with you there, he will play winger about 95% of the time. Im sure he will get the odd game where he is played through the middle.
That said, he is being bought as a winger.
June 29th, 2009 at 18:38
@Andrei: Are you latino? that pretty much sums up their fullbacks, they can attack, but cant defend.
Here at united, we prefer defenders who are good at defending, and attackers good at attacking. Its the jobs delegated to them by the manager. Fullbacks are there to defend against the oppositions wingers. Simple as.
Brown>johnson
June 29th, 2009 at 18:42
@RedDevilEddy: Fantastic mate. Send it to Fergie immediately so that the Gaffer can realize once and for all the kind of player he has on his team. You probably got Craig to wet himself. Fortunately he works at home and so nobody saw it and he could change quickly. Also, the use of Electic Romeo was a great choice in music. As usual, just an excellent job. Now when are you going to dedicate one to the Grognard? Or am I in your doghouse due to my feelings on Anderson?
Remember, whatever it is, it has to be done to “Requiem for a Dream” Remix by Clint Mansell. That them makes me wet myself.
June 29th, 2009 at 18:47
@Grognard: Im working on a Hargo vid right now, so if you want I can dedicate that one to you.
Glad you liked it, hopefully Fergie will too.
June 29th, 2009 at 18:48
@RedDevilEddy: Who is this mystery man from Norway? NAME?????
June 29th, 2009 at 18:52
@Grognard: Dunno if he lets me post his name on the internet… And I dont even know if its true, or if he is just bragging! But he really aint that kind of guy, so I believe that he is going there. But his first name is Ohi, thats all I can tell for now.
June 29th, 2009 at 18:53
@Grognard:

@Craig Mc: Amen to that. Wes Brown is fantastic and very under appreciated. There are only two players in world football I would prefer at RB for United over Wes. Lahm (who is still a better LB) and Maicon. I wouldn’t take Danny Alves over Browny. That’s the kind of love I have for the lad. And he can play CB in a pinch and excel there too.
June 29th, 2009 at 18:57
@RedDevilEddy: Hargo would be fantastic mate. Don’t forget his Bayern days and games for England. I can’t wait. Although, I would still prefer a Ballack or Riquleme video for me.
June 29th, 2009 at 18:59
@RedDevilEddy: Ohi. That’s Greek for the word NO.
Hopefully his last name isn’t the Greek word for GOOD.
June 29th, 2009 at 18:59
@Grognard: Or, come to think of it, Owen Hargreaves is a difficult player to make a vid about. As you have seen in my previous videos, its skillful players that make the grade for me. So you just name a player you like that is skillful and I will make it. Lahm, Huntelaar, Valencia… Or maybe even Benzema or Anderson?
June 29th, 2009 at 19:00
@Grognard:
Nah, his last name is African.
June 29th, 2009 at 19:00
@Craig Mc: I’m glad I made you smile mate because yesterday I gave you a headache.
June 29th, 2009 at 19:01
@RedDevilEddy: Well hopefully it isn’t an African name that sounds like GOOD in Greek.
June 29th, 2009 at 19:02
@Grognard: i wouldnt take danny alves over o’shea
June 29th, 2009 at 19:04
@Grognard: A vid about Bollocks?!
Sorry mate, but i aint making a vid of a player that has been close to Chelski or Liverpool. Shitty I would, because then I would manage to get alot of sad faces.
Riquelme, maybe. But is he skillful? I mean, stepover, rabona and such?
June 29th, 2009 at 19:05
@RedDevilEddy: Nobody but nobody loves Huntelaar more than me mate. Make Huntelaar and make me proud. I want to see his bicycle kicks and long range shots as well. Also, putting him in a Man Utd uniform for a few goals would just make me a little emotional. It might make me say nice things about Anderson.
I look forward to it with great anticipation. Love the Hunter.
June 29th, 2009 at 19:05
@Dan: Seriously?!
June 29th, 2009 at 19:06
@Dan: Well I wouldn’t go that far but I think I get your drift. It has something to do with the fact Alves has never defended in his life, right?
June 29th, 2009 at 19:07
@Grognard: Sorry dude, I like to keep it Real. No Hunter in United, but Ajax and Real/Holland will do.
And if you have seen my previous vids, you know I am good with bicycle kicks.
I will start next week, cause Im busy this week. Arite mate?
June 29th, 2009 at 19:08
@RedDevilEddy: I’m fully aware that you wouldn’t do a Ballack video. I was teasing. Riquelme though has tremendous skills. They may not be step overs but they are sublime. But he too would be a tough video to do. Huntelaar is the man for me.
June 29th, 2009 at 19:10
@Grognard:
June 29th, 2009 at 19:10
@RedDevilEddy: I suppose having to wait until next week is justifiable punishment for all my Anderson bashing. Sounds good mate.
June 29th, 2009 at 19:13
@Grognard: Yep, bloody ramos is a better defender then him, and ramos got shown up for the fool that hes by bloody USA!
Ramos took a touch in the box, alves would have dummied it right to dempsey
June 29th, 2009 at 19:13
@Grognard:
Nah maate, it sjust that I have a busy schedule. Football training, my girlfriend and… dude, ITS SUMMERBREAK!!!
But I will tell you as soon as Im done.
June 29th, 2009 at 19:15
@Grognard: Oh, and BTW mate. This is a goal I scored with Hargo today, starting on my free-kick compilation. Check it out, will ya?
http://www.eafootballworld.com/en_GB/video/6682373
June 29th, 2009 at 19:21
@Grognard: I think he is a great player, maybe I am a bit anti Argie at the moment matey!
June 29th, 2009 at 19:23
@Dan:
June 29th, 2009 at 19:25
Hey what if Nani got #7 and Valencia took #17? Well that’s a half joke but what are the available numbers for any potential signings?
June 29th, 2009 at 19:30
@RedDevilEddy: Nice. I too have success with Hargo in short range free kicks. I have always had problems with Ronaldo at short range but I do better with him from 30 yards.
Also, it’s too bad I don’t know how to do the video stuff you are doing within FIFA 09. Great stuff. I just finished a season where I played Hamburg with Huntelaar as my lone striker up front in a 4-2-3-1 formation. He broke Gerd Muller’s 40 year Bundesliga goal scoring record of 40 with 41 goals and was everything I would expect of him in real life. Scored beautiful goals, timely goals and poacher goals as well. What I would give for FIFA 09 to have a recorder feature where you could save all your special highlights and then take those and make a video. That would have been special 26-4-2 was my record at the highest difficulty level and I am still pissed off with myself over my two losses as I had those games won and lost my concentration. Just like real life.
June 29th, 2009 at 19:32
@TurkishRED: I think Fergie will save #7 for that special player who shows up. An Aguero, Villa etc. I don’t see him giving it to Valencia but then again, if he really rates this player higher than we do.
June 29th, 2009 at 19:33
Yes but is there anything else to give to Valencia?
June 29th, 2009 at 19:36
@TurkishRED: I would like to see nani get the number 7 shirt, that kind of act would show a confidence in the lad, and i think nani would do a very good job in it and become world class within a few years i really do.
That would free up the number 17 for valencia, isnt he 17 at wigan?
I would also like to see macheda given a better number, 41, just looks like a number given to a reserve player. Hes past that stage now and should be given a good number to show he has moved on up in the pecking order of the team, maybe take tevez’s old number 32 shirt.
In the end though they are only numbers on the back of a shirt i guess apart from a massive number like the number 7 or 10, it really isnt such a big deal. However with some players the number on their shirt is a big deal but i would think we would do well to avoid them players, its the front of the shirt that matters not whats on the back.
June 29th, 2009 at 19:43
@Matt: Just looked at Sky Sports’ list of United’s squad and numbers and they gave Febian Brandy #7!? Also Hewson and Martin have #30… It really is in disarray.
June 29th, 2009 at 19:52
@TurkishRED: Damn that is messed up, huh brandy number 7 lol. If your a fan of the sort of big numbers which have a meaning which some players do, then we really dont have much. I expect macheda will get a new number, maybe 25 if simpson leaves or maybe the 32 vacated by tevez. Other than that there aint a great deal of numbers around. But as i said mate i cant see a number mattering much to a player, its only a number after all.
Would be nice to know the players numbers for the new season though, friend of mine is thinking of getting macheda 41 on the back of his shirt, ive told him to wait cos i think his number will be changed but hes not the waiting sort so it will be kinda funny if he gets the new shirt with machedas old number on it.
June 29th, 2009 at 20:41
I have to be honest Im impressed by the German number 10 Ozil he looks amazing, and it makes me wonder why not we all forget about Benzema, Huntelaar or Ribery and all the other players we have been linked with and look into these players who have impressed in the Euro under 21, I also am a big fan of Marcus Berg
June 29th, 2009 at 20:58
@Matt: You know Macheda 41 is what he made his name with last season vs. villa… That alone is reason enough for some to get it even if he does change his number down the road.
June 29th, 2009 at 21:01
@Hannoodi: Turkey has always tried to get him to play in the senior national team, but he keeps refusing… He’d be a starter, no doubt.
June 29th, 2009 at 21:23
@RedDevilEddy: Why not make a Fifa compilation dedicated to Grognard featuring, wait for it,
Drogba
Terry
Pienaar
Platini and
Maradona?
June 29th, 2009 at 21:29
@Grognard: Germany Under-21s 4-0 England Under-21s, I can imagine you are loving it mate
June 29th, 2009 at 21:30
@NicoQB: What the…
Drogba: FIFA have got to make a diving button before I can do that.
Terry: Got any bananas?
Pienaar: Way to good a player for me to handle!
Platini: Might as well use Paul Robinson, cause he is the fattest player in da game.
Maradona: … ehh… watta… hmm… FUCKING NOOOO!!!
June 29th, 2009 at 21:35
Someone posted this on RoM?
Roy Keane, anyone?
June 29th, 2009 at 21:41
Grog, If I read an ‘I told you so’ type comment from you, I swear I will track ur IP address, then ur residential one and come over to Canada and strangle you !!
Germans deserved the victory though, poor play and tactics by England!!
June 29th, 2009 at 21:41
@RedDevilEddy:
June 29th, 2009 at 21:44
@Grognard: Ive played 3 full seasons with United. Won absolutely every game, on legendary diffculty!
Top scorer? Here goes…
2008/09, part 1: Cristiano Ronaldo, 72.
2009/10: Cristiano Ronaldo, 98
2010/11: Wayne Rooney, 102.
2008/09, part 2: Cristiano Ronaldo, 86.
Ronny and Rooney wer always my two top scorers, but in my current season, without Ronaldo, this is my record.
United, 31-0-0.
Top scorers: Wayne Rooney, 64. Nani, 28. Dimitar Berbatov, 27. Danny Welbeck, 21.
Without Ronaldo I play Nani as the W as winger, so it becomes a 4-4-3. When playing lef winger I use Hargo on the right, but when I use him as a right winger I use Welbeck on the left. Danny is also my thrid striker, since Macheda is still very young and not so good. I change my fre-kick takers, Hargo, Wazza, Nani and Scholes are the ones that take them in between. Of cource Anderson takes my penalties, as he has proven himself in real life as a ery good one. Plus, you know what he means to me!
I usually buy a winger in the summer of 2009, either Silva, Young or Valencia. My style of play is unpredictable, and as some of the guys I have played against on Live says, “My style in unique”! So I enjoy myself each time I play!
Dude, I really wanna play you one day! Why dont you get Live, so I can test your skills.
June 29th, 2009 at 21:46
@NicoQB:
That lad looks more roy keane then roy keane
June 29th, 2009 at 21:48
@NicoQB: Holy shit mate, he plays like me!!!
June 29th, 2009 at 21:51
@NicoQB: Double holy shit, he is Albanian too??!! Im 1/4 Albanian, that fucking dude IS me!!!
FERGIE, FERGIE SIGN HIM UP!!!
June 29th, 2009 at 21:57
@NicoQB: hes a fucking axe murderer haha
June 29th, 2009 at 22:04
@Dan: @RedDevilEddy:
The good news: He’s apparently on the market..
The bad news: Liverpool are interested
June 29th, 2009 at 22:08
Remember when Keane’s wages of 50,000 £ per week caused massive indignation?
Well reports are that Valencia is going to earn 75,000 £ / week!
June 29th, 2009 at 22:27
@NicoQB: Pathetic thing about that is i think he was earning about £20 odd thousand a week at wigan, im sure he would have been happy on £50k a week, so why do we offer him 75. God the way football has become is a bloody joke. Especially us, i mean what the hell is wrong with us and player wages, whoever works in our finance department needs the sack.
Im hearing were spending £3 million a year in wages on scholes and neville alone which is bloody astronomical for players their age. As with valencia im sure being fans of the club and being the loyal players they are, they could be on £30k a week and be happy. I know all about this bull of players wanting to be on par with the other top earners, but i would only consider the top players to be on top wages. The ferdinands, vidic’s, rooneys of this world fair enough can be on say £75+k a week, but that much on two oldies who are past it imo and a player like valencia who was on a quarter of that at wigan is pathetic.
You mention keane and the fuss when he was wanting his contract raised, god the way football has changed in the last 10 years is unbelievable.
June 29th, 2009 at 22:31
My contribution is this:.I’m not a big fan of Valencia and I don’t believe all the ridiculous stories that his employers are feeding the press.Real Madrid are not interested in the player,that was said to make him sellable.It helps in kinda appreciating his value and it would be silly and beyond comprehension for Real Maggots to get him when they already have fan favorite Arjen Robben and being linked with the likes of Ribery.
I’m not overjoyed by his purchase because I was really hoping for David Silva who is far better than Valencia and is also more versatile in attack.But thats just the thing.The Ronaldo replacement thoughts are lurking in my mind and I’m finding it hard to look at the merits of other players we are linked with.
So I’ve thought about it for a while and have begun to actually see how this could be the best available option.A more direct winger whose main agenda is not scoring goals but makin them is precisely what we need right now.We can all agree that all our strikers have not been scoring as many goals as we hoped for.I’ll exclude Tevez from this analysis but most of us can agree that Rooney can score more goals than he has.A lesser proportion will also agree that The Count can score more for us than he has.The reason why they couldn’t in my opinion is Ronaldo. His number one agenda on the football field is to be the centre of attraction and to be the main scorer of goals.Now that he is gone(finally) these guys can expect to get better in what they do due to better service.Actually we did ourselves a very big favor by getting rid of Ronaldo.Valencia can be the medicine for our ailing strikeforce’s recovery now that we have rid ourselves of the virus that was going to cripple us.Direct supply and he will give us width and maybe he could turn out to be the Premiership’s best winger due to playing with and for the best club in England
June 29th, 2009 at 22:54
@Matt: How do you suppose that can be solved.I do agree with you on Valencia,we didn’t, if we actually have,need to offer such a wage to him.And I actually don’t believe the press has any info at all. But say we are paying Scholes and co such huge salaries how can that be resolved.Seeing that they have contracts which we tied them down to at such amounts long before now.We all say players should honour their contracts but shouldn’t the club do the same.I mean the only solution to this is when players are signing contracts we offer them regressive wages rather than constant wages as in as you advance in age we will decrease ur salary. If we are able to sign any player under such conditions I will eat my shoes
June 29th, 2009 at 23:06
@Jay wire: Well i think as the players get older and thus used less and cannot perform to as high a standard why should they be on a higher wage than they were on when they were in their prime. Maybe to thank the likes of the nevilles and scholes for their loyalty so i can see this side of the argument but i definietly think £3 million a year each for scholes and neville, 2 players who imo are about 4th or 5th choice in their respective positions is just a complete and utter bloody joke.
I hear gattuso is so eager to earn a new contract at milan he wants to take a wage cut to stay on there. I am pretty sure he does this cos he loves the club and doesnt want to play anywhere else. Im sure pros like scholes and neville must be feeling they aint earning their approximate £80k a week, they hardly bloody play. I am positive when united offered neville a new deal a few months ago he must have been thinking how bloody lucky he was in earning a new deal, cos from his playing displays he didnt deserve one. I reckon if united had offered a new 1 year contract at £40k a week he would sign in a flash, that is a more realistic offer than the £80k he is on now to be getting over £3million a season in wages.
But as a said maybe united feel for their loyal service they deserve to be top earners at the club and i can kind of see that but you can balance that by saying there are better players on current not past form that deserve that and aint getting it. Players like valencia, scholes and nev are on over £70 odd grand a week, and my point is that first i dont think their talent is so good they deserve that massive wage that puts them among the top earners at the club and secondly that im sure they would have accepted lower wage amounts anyway because they probably werent expecting to be such high wages to begin with.
June 29th, 2009 at 23:07
Here is the list of my next FIFA video projects!
1. Ryan Giggs
)
2. Klaas Jan Huntelaar
3. New United signing
4. Roman Riquelme(?)
5. Anderson(hopefully
Then there may be a few goal compilations in there, but those are the ones I have planned out at this particular moment. But what i find a real challenge? Ryan Giggs vs Arsenal, Villa Park, Semi Final, 1999. Prepare for perfection!
June 29th, 2009 at 23:10

June 29th, 2009 at 23:10
@Jay wire: I am begining to agree with you. I think that Valencia will become a better player by playing with better players.
As an example I remember when we were linked with David Villa (before he joined Valencia) and I was hoping that we didn’t get him because he really did not impress on the few occasions that I had seen him to that point, but now he is one of the best strikers in the world…
I think we should be fair to Valencia as he seems to be a valued player and the complete opposite of the Iberian Lesbian as far as personality goes.
June 29th, 2009 at 23:17
@NicoQB: Is that Fernando Torres?!
June 29th, 2009 at 23:23
@NicoQB:
Laugh it up fuzzball. Don’t forget Vieira, Henry and Ashley Cole.
June 29th, 2009 at 23:25
@RedDevilEddy: IT IS!!!
June 29th, 2009 at 23:29
@NicoQB: Still laughing
June 29th, 2009 at 23:32
@RedDevilEddy: I am VERY, VERY, VERY, disappointed that Wes Brown is not on your list of videos to be made Eddi. Mainly because after the Nani video, I thought you could continue with that line of thought, that you use UNDER appreciated players at Man Utd, so we could have a library of vids BIGGING up those who deserve to be bigged up but seldom are
.
June 29th, 2009 at 23:33
@Man-U-cho: Duetschland Deutschland Uber Alles BABY!
Loved it, just loved it. They showed their true class and England showed they’re truly ass.
Oh I know I will piss many off with those remarks but understand that poor England needs to avoid the German machine if they are to win anything. Other than anomaly in Munich 2001, We own Englands ass since 1970. They will not beat us in a meaningful match. Forget frakken friendlies, when something is on the line, the Germans show up and England chumps out.
Today England was completely out managed and outplayed and outclassed and I just knew the Joe Hart suspension was going to hurt them. I also was not worried because Englands two front men were suspended also. It showed that England had no quality in depth and no imagination. As for Germany, they showed their class and several players really shone. I really liked Hummels today. I also was impressed with Ozil and Wagner. Any German with a last name like Wagner just impels me to play “Flight of the Valkyrie” in the background while I’m watching the game. The Germans were those helicopters destroying the village in Apocalypse Now. “I love the smell of napalm in the morning……It smells like…….victory.” You better believe it does. 4-0 to be exact. And the Grognard is going to party.
June 29th, 2009 at 23:40
@NicoQB: That boy would last all but 5 minutes before he entered Fergie’s doghouse and it would take 4 minutes before he got his first red card in the EPL. He shows no skill or control of his temper and rather than just being a physically imposing player, he is chippy and dirty. He’s a punk. Roy Keane was never that blatantly dirty. When he went out to hurt somebody it was because there were hard feelings with that player or a vendetta. He was physical but controlled or he would not have survived his time with Fergie. I could see this Cana kid getting a red card every game he plays because he is stupid and has no self control or subtlety in his approach to physical play. He’s just so obvious and hard core.
June 29th, 2009 at 23:41
@Craig Mc: Dude, I would have made a vid about Wes, I absolutely luv the lad. A time ago when people were bashing our right backs, saying we needed to buy top class defenders in that position, I stood up for Wes. I have faith in the lad, and he is one of my favorite players in United. And, you should know, the reason I wont be making a vid of him is because my FIFA vids are not only about the history of the players, but for me to commerciate my skills and abilities. If Wes had amazing skills, or had had many highlights in his career, he would be one of the first on my list. Unfortunately the defenders in games have limited skills, dotn score too many goals nor have had too many recognised highlights. But believe me, if FIFA 10 gives a more varieted gameplay in defending/attacking, he would be one of the frist on my list!
For that matter, if I could choose whichever player, and make a perfect FIFA vid about them it would be these:
Anderson
Brown
Foster
Vidic
Carrick
Rio
June 29th, 2009 at 23:43
@Gabriel: Would I be lying? NO. England had no chance with their three players suspended. But even I didn’t expect 4-0. That was a best case scenario for me.
June 29th, 2009 at 23:52
@RedDevilEddy: I tend to be a bit more realistic in the way I play the game mate. First of all I do not treat the game like an arcade game. I like realism so I control the ball a lot. Secondly, before I start a season, I go through the entire league and improve all the great players stats by using up all their goalkeeper ratings and tweaking wherever necessary. Thus the opposition is tougher and usually faster.
I don’t doubt that you are more of a master of the game than me but I play a very fine and highly artistic game with plenty of possession and realism. If I wanted to I’d have no problem getting Ronaldo to score 75 goals for me but I am happy to play him in a manner that makes the simulation look real. I’ll even downgrade players stats if I think they are too high. I really bring Scholes and Neville’s stats down and Cech’s skills like Handling and bravery are readjusted since he no longer has those qualities. I also readjust all the teams squads and make sure the right players are starting and in the right position. Too many lower level players start for many teams in the default settings while far better players are on the bench or even worse, in the reserves. Once all this is done and it takes me quite a while, then the season is ready to start and it becomes much more realistic than at the default settings. After all, I know more about the game and the players than those muppets at EA Vancouver, who in some cases owe me for their jobs in the first place.
June 29th, 2009 at 23:58
@RedDevilEddy: I’ll never get XBOX Live mate because I don’t like it. I am not one for playing console games with complete strangers or even friends. I have a thing about that. I am far from being a shy person but I have never opened up and accepted the live thing. I find it far too immature and adolescent for my liking. Friends of mine have told me about the number of assholes they run into when playing a few 3D shooters and they understand how I could not tolerate shit like that with my temperament and maturity.
For me it’s just a video game, it’s not an ego thing. I don’t claim to be a world beater although I feel I’m pretty good with the game. I have delusions of whether I am exceptional or if I can beat you. I just prefer playing video games against a CPU unless that friend of mine is in my home. Then I am willing to compete. So sorry but it will be a sad day in Hell I join you and all the others on live. Just not my cup of tea.
June 30th, 2009 at 0:02
@Dan: I’m sorry but I have to stick up for Keano on this and say this is nothing more than an urban myth. Sure Keano was physical and in some instances violent and dirty, but you would have to go through 3 full seasons to count as many infraction of that nature in Roy’s game that you find in that video alone of Cana. Cana is a psycho. I thought Melo was nice and physical and mean, Cana makes him look like a choir boy. Gattuso on crack.
Keano was much more under control than that animal.
June 30th, 2009 at 0:07
@RedDevilEddy: Honestly and truly Eddy, I would go on an Anderson love in if you did Riquleme to the music of Buster Poindexter’s “HOT HOT HOT”. It would be just so perfect sublime and full of Latino heat and passion. Do it please.
June 30th, 2009 at 0:43
@Grognard: Gattuso on crack
June 30th, 2009 at 0:49
@Grognard:
, Cana the Algerian Al Qaida terrorist on a football field. Now he is what you call a no nonsense footballer, and if he hasn’t got HAND GRENADES down his shorts instead of testacles, I’d be utterly amazed!
June 30th, 2009 at 0:53
@Grognard: Grog try offering Eddi a 2 week trial at OT in exchange for the videos you want. I know he will shape up and ship out quickly for that kind of a deal. What’s the matter with you, don’t you now how to negotiate Bro? You’ll never get SAF’s Manager post if you don’t learn fast
.
June 30th, 2009 at 1:03
@Craig Mc: Whoa!! You think Ferguson negotiates? It’s his way or the ‘get yer fecking arse to the fecking scousers, ye feck!’ way
June 30th, 2009 at 2:00
@Andrei:
, I hardly think he will send anybody to the scousers Bro!
June 30th, 2009 at 2:29
Craig, you’re going to love this.
Hint: Where’s that bloody pacifier?
June 30th, 2009 at 2:32
Giovinco – and I thought that Del Piero was small… Great talent though…
June 30th, 2009 at 2:38
Tevez thinks England has a President
In his latest anti-United blabbering, Tevez believes that we lost the CL final because he didn’t start the game. And that it was impossible to argue his case against the President of England, SAF.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/jun/30/carlos-tevez-champions-league-final
This man has some serious mental problems!!
June 30th, 2009 at 2:44
@Grognard: Me thinks that nostalgia blurs your appreciatiion of Keano.
As much as I loved him as a player, he was very often downright dirty in his tackles. Remember the vendetta against Haaland? The gratuitious stomping of some player who I forgot his name? I remember times when the match was all but lost, and Keane would commit a stupid, unexcusable offense looking for a second yellow because I (and I would wager that many people too) suspected that he just wanted the game to done and dusted with.
And remember this is just a youtube vid. You said it yourself, youtubes can make an average player look world class. The background hardcore music and action movie editng can make Cana look more aggresive than he actually is -ok he is an aggressive tough guy, but there’s no proof that he’s actually dirty minded, like, say, Keown.
For all I know, maybe he is, but we all know the pitfalls of judging a player exclusively from youtubes.
June 30th, 2009 at 2:51
@Redrich: Beat you to it!
Seriously, though, after his latest rant I would be surprised if he doesn’t get booed by the same fans he “gave his heart to.”
I never had a problem with the person, I just thought his game generally lacked end product but now he’s basically burning bridges not only with the United board and players, but with the whole english footballing community.
I wonder what his mates Evra and Park would think of this. Extremely disappointed with the lad, personally.
Veron, for all of the bashing he (unfairly) received from the media always treated us with utmost respect.

@NicoQB: Likewise, when all the “we wont sign Tevez” talk started, I was glad to here it, but also felt the lad had a right to make a good deal for himself with another team. I didn’t imagine for one minute, that he held so much hostility towards the club.
What is it that he’s trying to do for himself, here?? I’ve heard of burning bridges, but this geyser is poisoning the fucking river too!!
I now hope he gets stood up by every club and ends up back in good ole Argie!!

@NicoQB: It is so sad to hear him talk like that after playing for us for two years. It’s as if he was being tortured or something… All of that “sadness” crap. In the end, was he really any better than Ronaldo in the departments of team spirit and selfishness or selflessness? I thought they were near-opposites but it turns out I was way off.
Now the idiot is going to get booed when he comes to OT again. Booed the most vehemently by those who were saddened the most when they heard the first announcement. I’ll be booing as well when I see him playing next against us. Unfortunately.
This reminds me of a quote from Blackadder the Third (although I’m not completely sure of its meaning, to be honest): “Let’s just damn the fellow’s eyes, strip the britches from his backside and warm his heels to Putney Bridge! HURRAH!” -The Prince Regent

@TurkishRED: I think it means; scare the shit out of him, by threatening to throw him off a bridge.
Now, if we wanted to do that, we have an ideal one here, where I live (Golden Gate Bridge). You guys ship him out and I’ll make sure he takes the plunge!

@Redrich: AARGGH!!!
Seriously, is this guy on dope or sumthin?? I’ve never hated a person so much in my life as I hate Tevez right now. Right now, he’s up there with Blatter, Platini and my personal tutor on my anthrax list. This guy just won’t shut the frakk up!!! What’s all this nonsense now about ’suffering’ at United and not being able to forget the ‘pain’ ??? Is this the pain of hearing thousands of fans cheering your name constantly despite playing rubbish? Is it the pain of winning more trophies in two years than he has probably ever won in his career?? The pain of winning back to back PL titles? The pain of winning a CL trophy?? The pain of becoming world champions??? Oh, what suffering it must have been for you Carlito
Seriously, this guy is a wazzock of the highest order

do they sell a ” STFU TEVEZ” shirt?

Note to Carlos Tevez and to his handlers to interpret this to him. Carlos please please pleas SHUT THE FUCK UP ALREADY. You pathetic ugly bitter little Hobbit. Two months ago you had a legion of fans who were on your side and loyal to you. Today the total number of fans that are lo0yal to you is at a staggering 13 and a bull terrier named Nigel.
Get the hint. Shut your trap already. You have shit in the face of Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United more than enough to last a lifetime. Take your money and your new position with Manchester Shitty and please stop your bitching and whining. It’s a sad and pathetic attempt at sympathy and sucking up to fans who you are officially dead to. Why? Because you went and signed with the enemy and considered signing with the Anti-Christs themselves at Anfield. You have gone way out of your way to insult your former team and to show your bitterness.
Wake up Carlos. You say that Fergie should have started you in the final. Why? Because you would have turned what was certain defeat into a victory with your deft touch, incredible finesse, pace and finishing ability? You couldn’t finish a glass of ale yet alone score a goal. The fact is Carlito, you aren’t good enough to wear the United shirt as a starter. You were stuck on the bench where you belong and were inserted into games for comic relief. Now piss off and stop your bellyaching, you sad little git.

@Craig Mc: Eddy is already penciled in as my starter at LWB when I take over. He knows he’s my number one guy.

@NicoQB: I am very aware of what Keano was and yes he did have a nasty dirty streak in him. But this guy Cana looks out of control. I seriously fail to see how this guys survives a game without a red card. Keano was never that bad. I mentioned in my last e-mail that he could go mental against players he had a vendetta against, but Cana looks like he has a vendetta against everyone in the league. He’s a nut bag. Keano was more controlled and picked his spots carefully and usually with a lot more subtlety.

New post up. It’s an Exclusive! First person account on the sorry life of a former United player. Recommended read.

@TurkishRED: I love it when somebody quotes something from the greatest show ever The Black Adder. Quality. I’ll add to that today in memory of Germany’s sound destruction of All English Girls Axillary Balloon Corps (aka England’s Under 21’s). “Ends up for the big Bosch gang bang”.
June 30th, 2009 at 6:08
@Redrich: That was precisely what I thought when I read the article. England has a president. And it was the centre point of a piece I penned some time back. It’s in the new post.

@Grognard: Well I’ve been watching Blackadder so much recently that every situation seems to call for a quote or two that just pops up into my head… Speaking of which, I’m glad that we’ve rid ourselves of the Flanders Pigeon Murderer.

@TurkishRED: One of the greatest comedies of all time. And it’s unfathomable of seeing such a stellar cast of actors, from Rowan Atkinson, to Stephen Fry to Hugh Laurie to converge on a single show again. Simply a class apart. I still have the full four seasons, and still chuckle right through the show.

@Red Ranter: Were they all “stellar”, as you say, before or at the time of production in the 80’s or do you say that because they are so stellar together, as I feel?
By the way, I’ve just seen BBC’s Blackadder Rides Again and must say that it is just splendid to see the cast and crew talk about it all again.
