United’s forgotten man wants first team football

chicharito-javier-hernandez-real-madrid_3198642Javier Hernandez has admitted he might need to find himself a club capable of guaranteeing him first team football next season, after Real Madrid turned down the chance to make his loan deal permanent.

The Mexican was shipped out by Louis Van Gaal this summer but has managed only 10 appearances in all competitions for the European champions, with Carlo Ancelotti opting against signing him the Mexican, who insisted he remains concentrated on doing well for his current club.

“I am fully concentrated on Real Madrid at the moment,” Hernandez said.

“We have a big chance to have a really successful season – and when you are fighting for La Liga and The Champions League it is not sensible to concentrate on anybody else.”

Louis Van Gaal has not been afraid to threaten to drop Robin Van Persie this season, while Radamel Falcao is back into the first team squad but needs to prove his fitness between now and the end of the season if United are to offer him a permanent deal. However, while neither is guaranteed to be at Old Trafford next season, the prospect of Hernandez being handed a starting spot by Van Gaal appears remote at best, given the Mexican’s minimal contribution in the build-up play.

“I am not sure what will happen in the summer yet – but whatever happens I need guarantees. I am 26 now – in the summer I will be 27 – I must be at a club where I am going to be playing regularly, said Hernandez.

“Wherever I am playing next season – I will make sure I have those sort of assurances.”
