United’s summer signing has “attitude problem”

Manchester-United-vs-Club-BruggeFormer Holland international Youri Mulder has claimed Memphis Depay has an attitude problem, suggesting “people” at Old Trafford were beginning to show signs of frustration with the youngster.

Depay left PSV Eindhoven for United last summer in a £27.5m deal but has so far failed to replicate the sparkling form that inspired his former side to the Eredivisie title last season.

The United number 7 was largely unimpressive on Tuesdsay night, as Holland failed to reach the final stage of the European Championships for the first time since 1984 after losing 3-2 to Czech Republic.

Speaking after the game, Mulder insisted his compatriot had an attitude problem which was rubbing some at Manchester United up the wrong way.

“He played one good match for United, against Club Brugge [in the Champions League],” Mulder told Ducth broadcaster NOS.

“In the Premier League he suffers, yet his attitude suggests that he is a big star.

“It seems that people at Manchester United are starting to get fed up with this.”
