Update on Red Rants
This site is not down. It is very much alive. I am finally home and free from jet lag. And I certainly promise to bring RR back to it’s glory days.
About the Newcastle game report, I will write one. I missed the game but I still did watch the entire recorded match. So I will get a small report. Surely, our biggest win of this season deserves a match report?
Also I will get back to discussing United rumours and news.
And I will get to this soon. Before signing off, here’s the video of the Newcastle game again [Motd].

hello peoples, so which goal was the best?
January 15th, 2008 at 20:47
Ronaldos second was the best goal! Rio was second best. Ronaldos second goal showed his wonderful control, calm finishing and his great timed run was perfect. Wonder how many he will end up scoring!? And to think that Rio has scored more goals than Giggs, Nani and Scholes, halfway through the season is amazing. United has a tough game against Reading on saturday. These are Uniteds last results against Reading: 1-1(a), 3-2(h), 1-1(h), 3-2(a), 0-0(h). I noticed something funny here. Every other game against Reading is a win for us.and the others a draw. lets hope that continues on Saturday. But if we meet Reading in the FA Cup the week after, I dont hope that record will continue. I think Reading is the team that has let in most goals this season. And with United scoring most goals in the league, it seems like it is going to be a very enterteining game

red devil, who do u think we will buy in the summer?
January 15th, 2008 at 21:10
I think either Benzema, Huntelaar or Berbatov will arrive this summer. A right back and maybe Veloso. Sell Fletch, Silvestre and Saha, while Brown leaves his on bosman.
January 15th, 2008 at 21:15
Benzema, Richards and Veloso is the players i hope. All great future, already stars in their teams and United class. Veloso and Richards are both full backs if needed too.

nice if true, it would be great if he is as good as giggs in his prime, imagine a 90’s giggs on the left and ronaldo on the right with andy in the centre, thats cool.

Norry and RedDevil: I don’t see us selling Fletcher, or getting Veloso next summer. We already have Carrick, Anderson, and Hargo; so I doubt Veloso would get much playing time. And Fletch is a great squad player who is willing to sit on the bench and when he does play he plays great for us. I don’t think Veloso would be very happy taking Fletcher’s current position in the team. Veloso could start for any team in Europe.

As for the best goal of the game. I would say it was the second Ronaldo goal also. Not only did we see great patience and finishing in his goal, but it also showed great passing and vision from Rooney and Tevez especially.

personally i think best signings in the summer would be lahm and huntelaar. also buying them two we would have a lot of cash spare. kerlon, krkic, dos santos, aguero. all exclent youngsters we could sign. do u guys think peeks can go on to be as gd as rio or vida?
January 15th, 2008 at 22:04
yep, pique will most likely be a strong contender for vidas place next season.

United play spurs in 4th round of the FA cup. They won 1-0 vs Reading
January 15th, 2008 at 23:55
We all follow man united: “kerlon, krkic, dos santos, aguero” out of those four only kerlon would be affordable/want to come to us. Dos Santos and Bojan are settled, Kerlon isn’t even that great, just he has a few flashy tricks, and Aguero would cost around £30m.

Just looking at something in another forum about Ronaldo. I know he has been scoring loads of goals this year, but I don’t think I realised just how well he was doing until I seen this bit of info in black and white.
06-07: 23 goals in 53 games
07-08: 22 goals in 25 games
Simply put stunning!

Dan, I also think Pique is going to be out for a starting spot, but I don’t think it will be Vidic’s place he’ll be fighting for. I think that it will be Rio’s. I think that Rio’s partying is getting him on the bad side of Fergie. We could still sell Rio and get a good lot for him also.
January 16th, 2008 at 4:17
Pique is very good. Vidic is better. Ferdinand is our third best player and likely future captain. it’d be rather rash to sell him. We’d be mad to unsettle the league’s best defence. Pique could become a full time right back, other than that i don’t see any room for him as a full time starter. the boy’s still only young. hell have his place in the first team, just not yet.
January 16th, 2008 at 4:33
That Ronaldo stat is amazing isn’t it… And if he and the team keeps playing this way it would surely have to make him reconsider leaving for spain in a few years.
January 16th, 2008 at 6:21
Pique is not a right back… to big… we need speed down the flanks…
Give me another Evra and our team is sorted
January 16th, 2008 at 7:09
Daniel Alves will fill our right back slot next summer. You heard it here first
January 16th, 2008 at 7:11
I still think we should make a serious bid for madrid’s ramos. He can back up the center and play on the right (not too sure about the left though). I would also like to see lahm come in, but i really would love to see ramos in red.
What about this kid Lulinha? Word on the street is he’s pretty good and looking for a move.
No matter how much people seem to think, we need a third and possible forth striker. While huntelaar seems to be the most reasonable, i would like to see agbonlahor make the switch to united. who else?
January 16th, 2008 at 8:15
There were lots of rumours about this Brazilian kid “Lenny”… Cant find anything about him though.. All i know is that he is a striker… Lets also not forget that Stevan Jovetich is also high on the list for SAF
January 16th, 2008 at 9:18
Any updates from the African Cup of Nations? When is Manucho’s team playing and against whom? If he sets the stage on fire we may not really need another striker come summer. I am being a bt optimisticc here, also, Huntelaar would be a fine buy. Given a choice between Huntelaar and Berbativ, I would go for Huntelaar, he is young, good inside the box and would come cheap too.

How about we improve our youth development system and invest in some home grown talent instead of splashing money around?
I like this idea!
January 16th, 2008 at 13:32
Perhaps this money we save can go in to keeping ticket prices down and reducing the amount of executives keeping the crowd noise down whilst eating their prawn sandwiches!
January 16th, 2008 at 14:45
Excellent point there MCRx3…No really exciting player has come through the youth system since Beckham, Scholes and Neville…Come on we are a club which produced 3 of the greatest footballers of all time barely more than a decade ago!
January 16th, 2008 at 16:33
conor: aguero would not cost £30m. he is an immense young player but definetely not that much. as for kerlon, have u not seen the kid?
January 16th, 2008 at 16:36
and even if he was £30m, we are not poor are we? we would be willing to pay big money for players like aguero. rooney=£30m.
January 16th, 2008 at 17:20
Exactly, you think we’re made of money, buying Aguero would be verging on wasteful because we already have 2 outstanding strikers and there’s no excuse for having a £30m striker on the bench, and even though I think he is an outstanding player we really can’t just buy anyone we want, we’re not Chelsea! He would cost at least £30m, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Atletico Madrid didn’t accept anything below his release clause which is more than 40m. And when have you seen Kerlon, youtube? I watched him a few times in live matches and he was more than decent, but from reports he is just a bit overrated, and is likely to play for a team that would be just outside the Champions League places like Spurs, or a team like Sporting Lisbon or CSKA Moscow. It’s hard to judge on players that I don’t watch regularly, but i’m making judgements from what I read.
