Wayne Rooney Interviews Capello

I am extremely bored to the point of pulling my hair out. Couldn’t think of anything to write about today. So in my search for stuff remotely concerning United, I came upon the latest edition of I’m on Setanta Sports where Wayne Rooney interviews ‘Cabbage Man’ Capello. It’s not their best episode, but then, I could ask you to suggest something better too.

Watch it. Discuss if you must. I am off to sleep work.

I’m on tour with my band come Thursday, so I miss 2 weeks of playing the Fifa09 demo, and im onstage during the first half of the Liverpool game cause we’re playing a festival…which is rubbish. And i’m going to have to find a pub showing the villareal match… IN LEEDS. And the Chelsea game i’ll be on the road between Coventry and Southampton.

Why couldnt I be missing games against stoke, aalborg and bolton?

Torres seems like he will make it for the BIG ONE…but Gerrard is still a major doubt due to the double surgery done on his groin at the end of August.
Imagine this fellas, victory against the Scouse, against Villareal and the so-called impregnable fortress of Stamford Bridge. That will be something eh?? Can we do it?

    My predictions:
    Win against Liverpool 2-1
    Win against Villarreal 3-0
    Draw against Chelshit 1-1

A lot hinges on how Berba settles into the team. Hope he doesn’t take a long time to get going and makes a dream debut against Liverpool! Go United, We’ll always walk UNITED!

@Craig Mc: Yeah tell me about it. Leeds is rough as fuck. Last time we played here some yokel shoved a pie into the face of our old guitarist (who was carrying an amp at the time) and made him eat it. I might just wear the shirt, start a one man version of ‘we all hate leeds scum’ and take the stabbing and go out with pride :D

@Craig Mc: i just get a sense that berba will re-unlock what rooney used to be. at least i hope. and if it did click this weekend it would set them up to join the list of the best striker partnerships.

  22. Craig Mc says:

Will, well I wouldn’t be against that, I take it your talking about a Berba/Robbie Keane type partnership?. Rooney has to get in the box first though, something he hasn’t done much of lately. Still if it happens it will be all good for United  . I think it is more likely to be a Berba/Tevez kinda thing, but we’re all just guessing at the moment. If Ronnie leaves us because of all the fan hassle, I believe that will be a serious loss.

They play on the left, they play on the riiiiight, without Ronaldo, our goalscoring is shite  .

@saudi red devil: That’s anderson’s role. When everyone’s available, i think it’s a case of dropping one of the three rather than accomodating all of them. Especially once ronaldo’s back in the team, i don’t think it’s worth finding a place for all three in the team at once.

Anderson needs to grow, Rooney needs to play and try his best to score and it only my opinion that its his best position and from the way he plays and his interviews suggested that it is actually his favored position to play in, anyway I dont know.

And When I say Berba+Rooney+Tevez are better than Ronaldo, I mean combined hopefully because after this season they will be our only fire power.

Saudi Red Devil, it would be sad on the case that after this year, if your prophesy is right, Ronnie would not be part of our firepower. I have a feeling that judging by the mood of many United fans, Ronnie will not enjoy playing for us this season, and will be truly wishing Fergie had not persuaded him to stay. If he is unhappy enough, maybe he will push for a move in January    .

@Craig Mc: you’d swear from reading your post that Rooney had never scored before. Rooney is a good finisher under pressure IMO its just when he has time he tries to be overelaborate. Rooney has been our best player against the other top 4 clubs in recent times and if you go back and watch them I’m sure you’ll agree.

As usual the amazing Gerrard looks like recovering just in time for the match. Torres also has a late fitness test but to be fair if I was Benitez I would be scared shitless right now and would make Torres play on crutches if he had to

also ‘our best player’ Tevez didnt get within 5 yards of the box in the Pompey game and yet he was praised for his chasing the ball back and yet Rooney who actually scored in the game (ok it was wrongly ruled offside but I’m still counting it  ) and came closer than anyone else is criticized

@saudi red devil: Messi is better.

@Liam: Rooney’s goal doesn’t count but no-one critisized rooney’s performance in that game, he had a good game. Tevez also had a good game. The reason rooney gets more critisicm for not scoring or at least not spending enough time in the box is because when rooney and tevez play together tevez is the one with license to drop into space and it’s rooney’s job to stay further up the pitch.

  42. Liam says:

also looking at SS build up of the pool game which basically consists of Phil YSB Thompson saying how shit United are while only giving a slight mention to Liverpool’s shambles. Then they interviewed some random bindippers who said its their year, Rafa will lead them to victory and their due to beat us. Of course there is no sign of any United pundits or fans due to the whole media bias thing…

    KRAP (keep Rafa at Pool)

Liam, Rooney is not a sacred cow to me, that I can’t have an opinion on. If I think he has played shite LATELY I can say so. Anybody who feels like ranting on the blog, when my faves Nani or Ronnie play shite, then that’s allowed, (but I like you, will usually complain about it)   . If we are talking about them having shite games that is. If however, there is a United Fan endeavour to slaughter or boo, or chant opposition to a player DURING games that ISN’T playing badly, (or for any other reason to be honest), then I think it’s poor form, and feel it says more about the fans involved than the player. I am talking about Ronnie here. I may have my opinions about Rooney’s game right now, but you will never find me chanting, booing or effing and blinding at him, whilst he is playing in the red shirt, whilst he is on the pitch. Peace bro peace

Will, NO I haven’t forgotten the response he got from grounds all around the country after the world cup crime. That was from the away sections though, but United faithful, we were still supporting him. This time, the aggro is coming from his own club supporters, and that makes an enormous difference to a players state of mind mate. I am not exaggerating this Will, Alpha has already posted that during the N’Castle game, a section of United fans were booing and chanting for Ronnie to fuck off, and others then joined in with them    . You yourself yesterday posted this comment, They play to the left, they play to the riiight, this team United make RONALDO look shite. If fans start chanting that from the terraces, I think better for Ron to look to play his BRILLIANT and MAGIC football elsewhere.

They play to the left, they play to the riiight, without Ronaldo our scoring is shite!. Come on Ronnie!.

Ronaldo has not covered himself with glory this summer and the fans have and rightly so, got fed up with his self centred antics. Without him last season, well I don’t want to think what would have happened without, him!
Rooney has with the fans, the oppersite runs selfless for the team and the fans love him for it. But he really does need to score more, not only for United but for England. If he scored more goals he would almost be the perfect player.

  48. Craig Mc says:

Stephen, I agree mate. Ronnie has a massive ego, and is selfish indeed, but it is his selfish pursuit of goals that won us the PL and CL last season. Should he have stayed out on the wing do you think, and passed the ball to other players whose scoring prowess wasn’t as efficient?. Mate the Roon and Tev had their many opportunites didn’t they, but many times one on ones, and other great opportunities were wildly missed by them. Ronnie missed sitters you, but mostly he got the goals we needed to win the trophies. If Ronnie’s ego got totally out of control, how about us fans sharing the blame, because he was lauded CONTINUOUSLY at every game, all thru the feckin match, home and away, whereas the other players seldom heard their names chanted  . Now those same fans, once lovers of Ronnie are now turning into haters  .

    ReplyReply
  49. Stephen says:

@Craig Mc: I completely agree mate Ronaldo pretty much won us the double single handedly.
I don’t agree that us fans should share the blame, the adulation has never gone to Giggs, Scholes, Neville, Vida or even Cantona to some degree’s head. You can blame the press but us fans get enough stick and to blame us for the enermous ego of one of our players is not right mate.

    ReplyReply
  50. Craig Mc says:

Stephen, I wasn’t blaming fans FOR Ronnies ego Bro, but saying that we stroked and fuelled that ego every single match. I do not recall the other players you mentioned getting the same sort of adulation that Ronnie got last season, songs were more shared amongst them then. I think they should STILL be shared  .
