Why Becks and van “the man†were sold so cheaply to Real
Found this on football365. Too funny
So many of us ManUtd fans have wondered why Becks and Ruud were sold on the cheap to the only team (other than us) that can be mugged in transfers.
Well, folks the answer is here.
Look at the uncanny connection between the winners of LaLiga and the Premiership in recent years:
2001 Real Madrid-United
2002 Valencia-Arsenal
2003 Real Madrid-United
2004 Valencia-Arsenal
2005 Barca-Chelski
2006 Barca-Chelski
2007 Real Madrid-United
So, Sir Alex realized that since we somehow got paired with Real and not Barca, the only way we could win the Prem was by helping them win La Liga by giving them Ruud on the cheap (and cannily enough, add pichichi and La Liga bonuses while selling). The greatest masterplan of Sir, ever!
By the way, the scum from Merseyside would be paired with Real’s rivals Atletico, that’s why their year never comes.

That is a weird connection between the winners, hate Real but if that’s what it takes to win…
Maybe now Real can do us a favour and give us Sergio Ramos instead of the 2 million bonus

that’s really interesting. never thought of that before…

@rossi
Mate how can you say that? Winning matters, but style and entertainment also matters. If we sell Ronaldo, that is a suicide.

This is so funny LOL…How do you know that Liverpool is being paired with Atletico?
June 20th, 2007 at 6:07
Whenever Man U wins then Real wins. Whenever Valencia wins Arsenal wins. Whenever Barca wins Chelsea wins. Ha Ha Ha. This sounds funny. Just as ”whenever a Pope dies, Liverpool wins the Champions League. That is why they could not win this year’s CL Final because a Pope had not died…..”

@ Sharath Ciddu
I’m certain Rossi was being sarcastic…
and that connection people came up with is …..LOL….

Interesting…was never aware of that. It’s funny how statisticians and analysts always come up with some kind of random patterns and correlations, and if a certain pattern occurs more often than usual, they can label it as “the curse of…” something or whatever.
June 20th, 2007 at 7:45
I don’t think Real knows this…if they did, I’m sure they would have given Robinho to us at a steal.
Does this mean that they won their league because of us winning the PL? Where’s the thank you’s?
June 20th, 2007 at 8:32
Men these statistics are strange, but if I am to follow this pattern, then it looks like arsenal and valencia are gonna win their ligs respectively?
2001 Real Madrid-United
2002 Valencia-Arsenal
2003 Real Madrid-United
2004 Valencia-Arsenal
2005 Barca-Chelski
2006 Barca-Chelski
2007 Real Madrid-United
2008 Valencia-Arsenal

@Elishaphan
Mate I hope that its going to be United next season. But adding more fuel to the Arsenal pattern.. when United won the league in 96-97, Chelsea won the FA cup and united were knocked out by the eventual champions Dortmund in semis.. Next year Arsenal won the double…
Will it again happen? [:(]
June 20th, 2007 at 9:11
sharathciddu,
Its the red ranter who can add more to the twist, but Arsenal winning double..oh my God, dont even imagine it happening, but history repeats itself. Rem we’ve always won da lig after 98, 2002, and 2006 world cups. I rem. telling someone that this was going to be our year cz we always win da lig after world cup…..
June 20th, 2007 at 9:25
oh hell – please, not Arsenal

Does AIG stand for almost in Greece? 18 and 5 envious! How ironic the number of anti scouse songs you have yet the future of your team relies on one!!!!! Plus Liverpool will never be relegated, unlike you lot!!!!! Utd for next seasons title, what a joke! Chelsea, Arsenal nor Liverpool will play that bad again, and nor will you be able to bully my own club into not playing our best players against you, four points against your lot next season.
June 20th, 2007 at 21:04
Bluenose- I suppose Liverpool will never fail to qualify for the CL in the same season they win it then? And Chelsea wont rely on Drogba and Essien so much that when the ANC rolls around they will be a trainwreck. Arsenal probably wont play that badly again but if they lose Henry and maybe in 1 or 2 years Fabregas who knows.
P.S. why are you reading a Man United blog you Bluenose cunt
June 20th, 2007 at 22:57
[Liam O'Kelly]
Probably because this blog is awesome!
June 20th, 2007 at 23:46
Agreed
June 21st, 2007 at 17:24
Talk about delusional! Awesome??? It must be nice to be able to buy other clubs English players, without a hint of illegal approaches. At least Liverpool have recently got to two finals winning one, nor where they as completely out classed as you lot where by AC. Almost In Greece!!!!!!!
June 21st, 2007 at 23:49
Just like Liverpool were outclassed by Milan in the first half in Istanbul and Milan took their foot off the gas and allowed Liverpool back into it.
P.S. Why do you call yourself Bluenose if you support Liverpool? – IT MAKES NO SENSE

Atletico Madrid did in fact win
the domestic double the same year as
United – 95/96. Perhaps we should
pair the scum with Athletic Bilbao.
