4-3-3: Man Utd predicted XI to face Liverpool

Manchester United host Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday hoping to hand a blow to our rivals’ Premier League title challenge.

The Merseyside club were held 0-0 at home by Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday night – 24 hours after we beat Chelsea 2-0 in the FA Cup. Premiership Tips are expecting us to get a result at the weekend – they have an excellent strike rate when it comes to free football betting tips.

Liverpool start the Premier League joint top with Manchester City and this being their game in hand on Pep Guardiola’s side. Here is the team I think Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will name:

Goalkeeper: David de Gea
The Spaniard was rested on Monday night but will be between the sticks again this weekend. David de Gea can expect a busy game against the likes of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

Defence: Ashley Young, Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw
Chris Smalling put in a good showing in only his second appearance of 2019 on Monday night but I am not sure Ole will have full faith in the England international to go up against the Liverpool attack. I think we’ll see Eric Bailly come back in to partner Victor Lindelof. Ashley Young and Luke Shaw are regulars at full-back.

Midfield: Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera, Paul Pogba
This is Ole’s first choice central midfield three. No one else in the squad is pushing them for a starting role. Nemanja Matic will play a big role in protecting the back four and we can expect Ander Herrera to play a more defensive role than what he did at Stamford Bridge last time out. The Spaniard is full of energy so watch out for him to shut down the likes of Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino. Let’s hope Paul Pogba continues his excellent league form this weekend.

Attack: Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford, Alexis Sanchez
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said this morning that both Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard have a chance of returning this weekend but I certainly don’t expect either to be in the starting lineup. Romelu Lukaku barely got involved against Chelsea so I can see Alexis Sanchez coming back in to play down the left and Juan Mata occupy the right, supporting Marcus Rashford.

Here’s how we look on paper:
